studied Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (2021)

There is a lot of scope and future after getting an MTech in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Bombay. If you're interested in pursuing Aerospace Engineering, you should know that IIT Bombay is the best institute in India for this field.

One of the best things about IIT Bombay is the flexibility it offers to students when it comes to choosing their course subjects. You can choose subjects that align with your interests, and only the core subjects are compulsory. This is beneficial for job opportunities since companies look at the subjects you've studied during your academic tenure.

Regarding Aerospace Structure, the subjects offered in this specialization are quite similar to the machine design stream of the mechanical engineering department. The curriculum also includes state-of-the-art subjects related to composite materials. All the professors in this field are renowned experts in their respective areas.

While only a few aerospace companies come for recruitment, students with a clear understanding of the subjects studied in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Bombay can easily secure jobs in both core and non-core industries.

Apart from job opportunities, you can also opt for research work or pursue a Ph.D. in IITB itself or universities abroad. So, if you want to pursue Aerospace Engineering and build a strong foundation for your future, IIT Bombay is the perfect place for you.

What is the cutoff required in the CAT exam for the admission of a one-year PGPBL program (PGPM) at IIM Kozhikode?

RV
Rohan Verma Posted On : February 1st, 2024
Studied Finance & Marketing at Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode

IIM Kozhikode has a holistic approach to select candidates for its various management courses. PGPBL at IIM Kozhikode is a new course in the 1 year MBA category, due to this reason it is not as rigid towards the minimum CAT/GRE/GMAT requirement for student selection. But you are expected to put effort into your application at the same time.

This program has a very detailed application. With decent scores and in-depth application you can expect to crack the first stage of the admission process. But the program is attracting positive attention, so you can expect a rigid percentile requirement in the coming years.

I would recommend you apply for PGPBL at IIM Kozhikode and experience the rich selection process first-hand.

What is it like to study Physics at IIT Kharagpur?

AC
Anumita Chatterjee Posted On : March 22nd, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK)

A student at IIT Kharagpur can study Physics even without attending classes or going to labs. I think the m experience in any department depends mainly on 3 factors

  • Your own motivation
  • Professors
  • Peer group

Your own motivation: You either get inspired or are naturally motivated. The former does not need much external pressure. This means you can function well even without good facilities or professors. However, those who lack such inspiration need constant motivation to depend on good professors to develop an interest in the course and perform well. Physics is a difficult subject and one cannot solely depend upon self-study. So physics at IIT Kharagpur is not for those who lack inherited motivation.

Professors: Sadly, IIT Kharagpur has only a few professors that make it into the category of experienced and learned. Most professors are good at research but lack teaching skills. If the second and third-year subjects are not taught by good professors, you will face quite a bit of a downfall in this path.

Department:

Any particular department can be evaluated on the basis of labs, workload, grading, placements, and scope for higher studies.

  • Labs: The labs are neither too good nor too bad and are just considered average at IIT Kharagpur.
  • Workload: The workload is huge with 5 subjects every semester till the 4th year and 4 labs every week.
  • Grading: Absolute Grading system is followed which is quite challenging.
  • Placements: No core companies visit the campus for placements for the Physics department. So the only option left is to sit for non-core companies like IT, Analytics, Finance, Operations, and Management. However, you can get into these companies with your own set of skills provided that you stand out among recruiters.
  • Scope for higher studies: There is a lot of scope for higher studies provided that you have good internships, projects, and grades.

Peer group:

Having passionate people in your batch adds to the overall learning experience. The peer group in KGP comprises usually hostel friends or friends from societies or clubs.

How strict are the practical and theory attendance rules of IGNOU?

PN
Pallav Nagar Posted On : October 28th, 2022
Lives in Bhopal Madhya Pradesh, India

Whether the attendance rules of IGNOU are strict or not depends on your local centre solely. There is a minimum attendance criterion in place but it differs from programme to programme.

Once you adopt the habit of self-learning it becomes quite easy. But attending classes will help you clear your doubts once in a while.

The theory sessions in IGNOU are not actual regular classes. They are just sessions to hold discussions between lecturers and students. There is no proper explanation of each chapter, just a general clarification of doubts. Attend these classes only after thoroughly going through the study materials.

Another benefit of attending classes is meeting new people who will help you understand the topic much better. So if you are a student of IGNOU, the practical and theory attendance rules vary from centre to centre.

Which is better, B.Tech IIT & MBA IIM or IPM IIM Indore?

JT
Juby Thomas Posted On : January 24th, 2023
MBA from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management

IPM IIM Indore, and B.Tech. IIT are not any better.

Many engineers pursue their MBAs after completing their engineering degrees. Because management and engineering jobs are distinct and an MBA should be pursued in the engineering field after gaining some experience, employers are becoming warier of hiring such people today.

Many students discover they are not interested in their chosen field and subsequently lose interest in engineering or management. So, you must first decide what you are interested in. Both courses are worthwhile, but only after you determine your areas of interest.

If you are only interested in the management sector, choose IPM; however, if you are interested in engineering, choose IIT because getting into this esteemed institution is already a herculean task. Additionally, keep in mind that no institute can guarantee great success unless you pursue the courses with a laser-like focus and are prepared to put in the work. As such, choose your course with the utmost concentration.

Which is a better option, IPM from IIM Rohtak or BMS from Shaheed Sukhdev?

SS
Shyam Seth Posted On : July 31st, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

Having some of my friends study in both colleges, I can say that enrolling in Shaheed Sukhdev for BMS would be much more apt than that of IIM Rohtak for IPM. Both the colleges hold their places enormously but Shaheed Sukhdev will be better due to their overall educational experience.

There are several reasons for choosing it, some are:

  • BMS as compared to IPM is a much older course.
  • The placement of Shaheed Sukhdev reached heights due to their BMS course.
  • The highest package offered to the students of Sukhdev College was around 18 LPA (latest).
  • You can also get a chance to do your MBA from some other top IIMs in the country later on in life.
  • Moreover, IPM Rohtak would be taking in its second batch, and hence no point in talking about placements.
Categories IPM at IIM Rohtak BMS at Shaheed Sukhdev
Course Fee 30.75 lakh 40,075
Course Duration 5 years 3 years
Highest CTC 24 LPA 19.25 LPA
Average CTC 13 LPA 8-10 LPA
Recruiting Companies Amazon, Accenture, Berger, Capgemini, etc. Google, KPMG, Deloitte, EY, etc.

It is suggested that you choose BMS over IPM. Though, both have their pros and cons but opting for BMS is worth more than IPM. Also, Sukhdev has a great market reputation and placement record. After all, it’s your decision that matters. Think appropriately for yourself. Good Luck.

What are the college timings for an MMS course at JBIMS and Sydenham?

BR
Biswadip Roy Posted On : February 20th, 2023
Studied Finance at Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies

Any typical day at JBIMS depends on your workload and the ongoing semester. The duration of lectures is 3 hours with a small break. The lectures take place in the following shifts

  • 7 am-10 am
  • 2 pm-5 pm
  • 6:30 pm-9 pm

There might be one, two, or three lectures depending on your course. Another set of events that constitute a major part of your day is committee-related events like competitions. Apart from that you are always busy preparing for your presentations and assignments. Attending guest lectures is mandatory and no one can evade them.

The first semester is the busiest as it’s packed with induction, committee election, summer placements, and lectures. You won’t be able to sleep more than 4-5 hours a day and then soon adapt to the strenuous college life.

How can I score more than 90% for a B.Tech in JNTUH?

JP
Jiten Pradhan Posted On : August 3rd, 2023
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2020)

I will shed some light on the university exams situation at JNTUH. It's almost impossible to score good marks here because irrespective of what you write the correction staff simply gives you zero. They don't care what you have written and when you write the same answers in your supplementary exams, you end up getting passed. This is the reality here where the toppers fail in exams while the failures top.

If your aim is to get 90% here, I will suggest you have a change of mind. Stop focusing on mere percentages and rather focus on gathering as much knowledge and skills as you can. Eventually, recruiters don't consider your grades but your knowledge and performance in the interview. At JNTUH, you get marks only if you write the exact words from the textbook even if it means you don't understand a single word. I will mention a few simple tips that will help you score decent marks here:

  1. Always write the answer in points; each point comprising 2-3 lines. A long answer should have at least 10-15 such points.
  2. Underline the keywords in every point and highlight the main points.
  3. Make sure your answer sheet appears organized. Use margins, draw a line after each answer, highlight the formulae, etc
  4. Presentation is very important so dont strike off the answers as you may end up losing more marks.
  5. Write the long answers carrying 10 marks in 4 pages, short answers carrying 3 marks in 15 lines, and the 2 marks answers in 6 to 7 lines.

These tips will help you survive at JNTUH by getting decent marks but won't help you in increasing your knowledge which is very important once you leave college. So work on that as well!
