AS
Ashish Singh Posted On : April 7th, 2021
B.TECH. Biomedical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Raipur

The placement percentage for NIT Raipur is around 70-80%. The average package ranges from 3.5 lakhs per annum to 5 lakhs per annum.

  • The placements completely depend on your branch as CSE has seen 200% placement as well. On the other hand, the placement percentage for Biotechnology was around 70% to 80%.
  • When we talk about infrastructure, the renovation is going on. The new campus has been proposed in Naya Raipur. Therefore, the infrastructure gets 5/10 marks.
  • The campus is not completely equipped with Wi-Fi facilities but the proposal has been made. This will take around 1 or 2 years to come into existence. Wifi is available on the main campus, central garden, girls’ and boys’ hostels with a speed of 300 MB per 5 seconds.
  • Some areas like the Mathematical and the Biotech Department do not get satisfactory signals. But one can use LAN connection over there.
  • The college is not equipped with sports facilities but a sports fest is held every year. In the Sports Fest, various world champions like Geeta Phogat have visited the college. Apart from this, NIT Raipur has bagged positions at various sports competitions as well.

There are enough extracurricular activities to meet your need. The college has Avartan, the Tech Fest, E-day celebration, Samar, the Sport’s Fest and Eclectica, the Cultural Fest where celebrities like Mohit Chauhan and Sachin – Jigar visit the college. There are also various teams dedicated to several activities – Sanskriti (cultural), Shaurya (sports), Technocracy (tech), Abhinay (drama), and Nrityam (Dance). All of them are considered to be the best on their own.

BS
Bipasha Sethi Posted On : October 6th, 2021
Studied B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Puducherry (2021)

NIT Puducherry is really a nice institute. Let’s see some facts about it :

  • The campus is huge, covering 256 acres, with a sea nearby that provides a cool wind 24 hours a day, and the temperature is pleasant.
  • Because it is a new institution located outside of town, the atmosphere is serene and quiet, providing a conducive learning environment, free of all forms of politics.
  • It is completely free of ragging, and the seniors are really kind and helpful.
  • The sunrise and sunset views of the institution and its surrounding environs are spectacular.
  • The infrastructure is fantastic, with a four-storey hostel for guys and a two-storey hostel for girls (girls).
  • Mess food is really good and tasty.
  • The wifi at the campus has high-speed internet. LAN is also being set up

You might not get good placement offers as the institute is currently in a development phase. But it is still improving each year. Another issue with the institute is that you will be required to submit a lot of assignments in a term. Overall, you will enjoy your time at NIT Puducherry.

Are married students allowed to stay with their spouses at IIM Kozhikode? If not, then can they live outside the campus?

KP
Koustav Pal Posted On : November 15th, 2022
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (2021)

Married accommodation is not readily available on campus, but on request, IIMK can facilitate locating suitable accommodation for students, in proximate areas.

My sister's batch had 2 married students. The institute assigned them an extra room for spouses in the women's hostel. If your roommates are okay with it, then your spouse can visit you for a few days.

Outside facilities are also available for spouses' accommodation. But then the transport expenses will have to be taken care of.

Does ragging happen at Holkar Science College, Indore?

AG
Abhimanyu Guha, Posted On : November 22nd, 2021
B.Sc. Forensics from Holkar Science College, Indore (2019)

Never. Unlike GACC and other government colleges of indore, In Holkar ragging is strictly prohibited. Seniors here mind their own business.

There is no unnecessary restriction. You also have the option to contact the police if anything bad happens.

No institute supports ragging. If you are involved and caught in this act, the college will file an FIR against those students who were involved.

You can share your complaints with the Anti-ragging committee present in the college, who are cooperative and helpful.

All in all, Holkar does not support ragging. Also, you will be very busy with multiple shifts and you will rarely get the time to interact with your seniors.

If you get in touch with the seniors, you will see that they are nothing but helpful.

How is life at SPJIMR compared to the old IIMs?

AA
Anshita Agarwal Posted On : March 10th, 2023
PGPM (MBA - Exec) in Operations and Supply Chain Management, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) (Graduated 2021)

When compared to the top IIMs, SPJIMR is a rather moderately good B School. Yet the placements and roles offered by the B School are at par with that of IIMs. The major USP of the B School is its profile-based evaluation. This means a certain candidate can make it into SPJIMR even if he was unable to get a high CAT or XAT score of 98-99 percentile provided that his profile is excellent. With the required skills, qualities, and a decent academic record you could get admission and meet not necessarily get a very high CAT score. This gives a wider spectrum for students to showcase their skills other than academics. There are some more key points where SPJIMR fares rather well when compared to IIMs or other B Schools.

Fees: The primary factor that distinguishes SPJIMR from the top B Schools is the moderate fees. SPJIMR PGDM fees for 2 years is ?20.42 Lakhs (Total Fees) while that of top IIMs is above 20 lakhs.

Placements: The entire placement drive is concluded quite fast and is at par with the top IIMs. SPJIMR Completes Final Placements 2023 with 46% Rise in Highest Salary at Rs. 77.8 LPA and 3% Rise in Average Salary at Rs. 33.02 LPA; Accenture, BCG, HUL, Godrej, ITC, KPMG, P&G being the major recruiters.

Batch size: This is an often underestimated aspect when in reality it affects both, placements and the quality of education. SPJIMR batch size is around 300 while that of most IIMs is 350-500. The low batch size results in better bonding between peers and close relations with the faculty.

Location: Located in the Finance capital of India, SPJIMR offers a plethora of advantages. Easy access to CXOs and practitioners gives the learning experience at SPJIMR a practical approach.

Curriculum: The curriculum is unique in the sense that it targets not just the student's IQ but also EQ and creates socially and emotionally aware managers. This unique course curriculum at SPJIMR offers three distinct levels of learning:

  • Self-awareness
  • Self-management
  • Societal awareness

Pedagogy: Apart from the regular courses and teaching methodology employed at other premier B Schools, SPJIMR takes five key initiatives in the ‘Non-Classroom Learning’ area which include ADMAP, DOCC, Abhyudaya, PG Lab, and Science of Spirituality.

All these unique aspects make life at SPJIMR a very good experience compared to old IIMs.
