Could you tell me about college life at NMIMS Mumbai?

KD
Kirti Das Posted On : March 14th, 2023
BBA(Finance), NMIMS, Batch 2013-16

NMIMS is considered one of the best Private Universities (Deemed to be University) in India. The curriculum provided by NMIMS is exhaustive and requires students to invest a significant amount of time. However, this does not mean that NMIMS students cannot have fun. On the contrary, NMIMS offers a wide range of opportunities such as college tests, in-college clubs, and activities. Furthermore, a summer internship is compulsory for all students, which provides valuable experience and enhances the student's chances of securing a job.

The NMIMS curriculum is designed to include regular tests and presentations, which require students to work on projects outside of college hours. Attendance is a significant issue as students are required to maintain at least an 80% attendance to be allowed to take the exams.

Despite the workload, NMIMS has a sought-after student crowd and faculty in the country. If you are a hard-working person, you will undoubtedly have a great time studying at NMIMS. The workload varies depending on the level of degree you are pursuing. MBA students have to study more than undergraduate-level students.

In conclusion, if you are a hard-working person, NMIMS is an excellent fit for you.

If you are a student of Calicut University, you will have a lot of extracurricular activities to look forward to. The university has many student organizations and clubs and you have a lot to choose from. Some student organisations, clubs, and activities are listed below:

  • National Service Scheme (NSS)

Is IBS Hyderabad worth joining considering the return on investment?

RS
Rashmi Singh Posted On : February 16th, 2023
MBA in Marketing, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad (Graduated 2018)

Before I give you a picture of the ROI offered at IBS Hyderabad, let’s clear some misconceptions regarding what ROI is.

People usually calculate ROI by comparing the fees they have spent with the package they are offered during placements. For instance, if someone pays a fee of 16 Lakhs, they expect a package of nothing less than 10 Lakhs. And if they fail to get placed with such a package, they consider the ROI to be at fault. This in reality is the wrong way to comprehend the ROI. ROI is much more than the package you are offered. ROI includes almost everything you get from the college like

  • A campus with world-class infrastructure and amenities like fitness, recreational, educational, and extracurricular
  • Highly comfortable and clean hostel rooms that make your stay of 2 years a smooth one
  • The best faculty pool that motivates and guides you throughout your college life and helps you find your right path
  • The food at the mess that is healthy and tasty
  • Other safety measures that ensure your stay at IBS a good one

Only after considering these points, is the final ROI in the form of placements taken into consideration. Now if you work hard and maintain the top position you are likely to get a good package ranging from 10-45 LPA. But this depends on how you have spent the 2 years and your commitment to the course.

So ultimately I will say yes, IBS Hyderabad is definitely worth joining considering its ROI.

Which has the better campus life, NIT Durgapur or NIT Jamshedpur?

SG
Sakshi Gupta Posted On : April 23rd, 2021
B.tech C.S.E from National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (2020)

Well, both the colleges are in different states and both have their own set of reports, some good some bad. Though from an infrastructure point of view, NIT Jamshedpur is small and cozy whereas NIT Durgapur is quite beautiful and flourished in about 187 acres of land.

  • The campus life at NIT Durgapur is really awesome. Apart from academics and infrastructure, it’s an NIT so you can understand it's pretty good.
  • But if you really want to experience it, you should definitely join NIT Durgapur and enjoy the vast playgrounds, clean campus, and friendly environment.
  • Though you can get some negative aspects but there is nothing wrong related to campus life.

Similarly, it goes for NIT Jamshedpur.

  • Even though the infrastructure of NIT Jamshedpur is not at par but definitely the campus life is awesome here too. The students make the campus lively.
  • You will get to see a vast and clean area with basketball, cricket and football ground.
  • Though the facility of Wi-Fi is not provided but you will have sufficient speed and workstations to fulfill your needs.
  • The mess food provided is of good quality.
  • There are many places to hang out and inside the institute only. The cleanliness is very good; in fact, Jamshedpur is one of the cleanest cities of East India.
  • The seniors are awesome and do cooperate and guide you if you face any issues.

Both the campus have good campus life and environment. But better contact someone who studies there and judge the authenticity and then choose between the two and definitely consider placement, faculty, and research before opting for either of them. The campus life at NIT Jamshedpur is quite good and you are not going to regret joining this institute.

What happens on the opening day at DG Vaishnav College?

YS
Yuvika Sen, Posted On : November 18th, 2021
studied at DG Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam (2018)

From one of my friend’s experiences, I can say that you will have a seminar in an auditorium after which you are allowed to go home, as from the following day your regular classes will start.

On the first day seniors will guide you to join societies or clubs where your interests lie.

It is suggested that you go to college early on the first day and ask every representative of the clubs about them and then decide which to take part in.

Joining clubs will also help make more connections and give you enough exposure.

On the opening day generally the principal meets all the students in a group, gathering in the college and familiarizes them with the rules and regulations, and gives instructions. You will be allocated to your classes and will get to meet the HoD of every department.
