What rank do I need to get into the NITIE with a course in mechanical engineering under the general category?

PN
Priyam Narsikar Posted On : August 18th, 2021
Studied at NITIE Mumbai (2019)

One of my friends from NITIE mentions that for the mechanical engineering course under the general category, there are different requirements of GATE score by the college for the admission process.

  • For the general category, for any branch, the score of GATE is around 650.
  • There is no branch preference given over any other branches.
  • There are different cut-offs for every year and it depends on a lot of factors.
  • The factors include the average GATE scores of the students, the total no of received applications, and many others.
  • The last and final selection depends on factors such as the 10th aggregate, 12th aggregate, graduation aggregate, GATE score, group discussion, and personal interview.
  • There are different weights for every factor and after all the calculations with their respective weights are done, the final list is prepared.

The GATE score is quite difficult to say as there can be even a waiting list if there is a requirement for the same. Therefore, if a person gets the required minimum GATE score and performs well in the GD and PI round. Then there is a possibility of getting the call as the shifting in the waiting list is not predictable.

Which college is better for Event Management Diploma, NIEM Mumbai or NIEM Pune?

RN
Radhika Nath Posted On : July 5th, 2021
MBA Event Management & Mass Communication, Indira School of Communication (2014)

It completely depends on what kind of events you like to conduct in the future. When it comes to the NIEM Pune, the focus is more on corporate events and this, in turn, would give you more corporate and/or wedding planning experiences in practicality.

Whereas, as far as NIEM Mumbai is concerned, it focuses much more on the show business and exhibition aspects of event management. In the end, it entirely depends on what sort of events interest you more.

A friend of mine has worked with both the Pune and Mumbai branches so my knowledge comes from experience.

Who are the best professors at BIT Mesra? Why?

VS
Vishal Sharma Posted On : April 23rd, 2021
B. E. in Mechanical Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Graduated 2019

A relative of mine used to be a student of BIT Mesra. She and a number of her peers have chosen Mr. Anup Kumar Keshri to be the best professor at BIT Mesra.

  • Professor Keshri himself is an alumnus of BIT Mesra and he was a student of the Computer Science Branch. Despite being in the CS Department, Professor Keshri was impressed by Professor P.K. Choudhary who did not belong in the department. His teaching abilities caught the eyes of Professor Keshri.
  • Professor P.K. Choudhary belonged to the Mechanical Department. He taught engineering drawing.
  • Even though Prof. Keshri was not a student of Mechanical Engineering, he did a paper on Professor Choudhary’s subject in 1996.
  • In addition to that, in spite of not being a student, Professor Keshri is sure that after some revision, he would be able to take classes in Mechanical Engineering.

He is thankful to Professor Choudhary for teaching him the ‘Language of Engineers’, on which Professor Keshri did the paper in 1996. He did not have to refer to any textbook for preparing himself for the paper. He wishes to be a teacher like Professor Choudhary.

Is Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida worth while for pursuing MBA?

KP
Komal Pathak Posted On : March 16th, 2023
Studied Post Graduate Diploma in Management at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida (Graduated 2016)

Whether pursuing MBA from Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida is worthwhile or not depends entirely on your individual circumstances and goals.

If you have scored well in any of the MBA entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, or XAT, you may consider exploring other top colleges that may offer better ROI. However, if your scores are average or below average, you may consider pursuing MBA from low budget college preferably from UP, where the fee structure is much lower than that of Jaipuria.

While Jaipuria offers good academics and placement records, getting placed in a good company can be challenging. It is advisable to contact a few seniors who are working or have worked in the same company before applying for the job.

In conclusion, if you are investing your money in your dream, you obviously want a return on investment. While Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida can help you build confidence, improve your public speaking skills, and meet intelligent people during guest talks, you may not get the return on investment you desire.

IPM from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak

It’s difficult to predict what would be the IIM Rohtak placement like for the IPM course. It will depend on the institute and the students. How the institute will handle 160 students and what type of exposure and internship opportunities are available for the students.

You can expect the placement for IPM to be decent, as IIM Rohtak has a good placement record for other courses.

How is NITK Surathkal College?

SK
Shreya Kapoor Posted On : March 25th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2020)

NITK Surathkal is one of the best colleges in India and the student life there is full of ups and downs. Some of my friends are studying at NITK, so I can describe the institute in detail.

Here are some experiences and facts about NITK:

  • The campus is lush green having its own beach and lighthouse, and the student life is good. There is a really loud bell on the campus that wakes everyone up, and even the dogs start growling.
  • You are probably going to wake up to its sound daily at 7:45 am. You will want to sleep a few more minutes but because 75% attendance is mandatory in college, you will wake up with weary eyes and rush to the washroom to brush your teeth.
  • The clock keeps ticking and by the time you finish brushing, it's time for your first lecture of the day. So, you rush to the mess, trying to grab anything that you can, and head towards the lecture hall where you find that the class is already in progress.
  • After 5 pm you get to go back and do Homeworks. You meet your friends who hang out with you at the beach and by the time you come back, it's 7 pm.
  • In your hostel, you finally relax, play CS go, a bit of gossip, and talk to seniors after which dinner follows.
  • You start your homework by 11, and it is going to take hours to write that. There are more guys in your situation so all of you decide to just copy from a friend's sheets and finish the work with full enthusiasm by 1 am, after which you finally sleep.

This was a typical day that keeps on repeating itself as long as you're in college.

Belgaum is definitely not a metro city but it is developing to become a smart city in the coming years. As far as the college is concerned, it has a very beautiful campus. There are a number of places you can explore on campus and never get tired.

  • Academics are quite important here and a number of qualified doctors in different specialties will guide you. The quality of teaching is great right from the first year.
  • With clinical postings, you will be able to gain exposure to different fields in medicine. Your postings will be divided into major and minor. Major ones include medicine, OBG, pediatrics, and surgery with ophthalmology, ENT, and community medicine introduced in the third year.
  • For minor postings, you will be exploring the fields of Dental, Radiology, Casualty, Respiratory Medicine, Anaesthesiology, psychiatry, and dermatology. You will get to see a variety of patients daily at KLE since it is a good hospital in Karnataka.
  • The hostels are pretty decent too and they are a good place to stay.
  • You can also visit the library as it is a big attraction in college. You can refer to a number of books here and study as much as you like.
