The short answer is Yes. If EIE is your interest and you want to build your career here then there is no reason to stop. My brother is an alumnus from RV College of Engineering, and here’s why you must definitely go for it.
The table below shows the placement statistics of EIE at RVCE:
Highest Salary |
INR 13 LPA |
Average Salary |
INR 6.25 LPA |
Minimum Salary |
INR 3.6 LPA |
Placement Percentage |
INR 84.09% |
All in all, if you give your 100% in any branch, you are most likely to get placed. Though the intake of EIE is quite low, all matters are your interest. In most cases, if you have a good rank in entrance exams then you can get EEE in BMSCE or MSRIT with the same rank. However, if your interest lies only in EIE, then don’t give it a second thought.
VIT Vellore has bigger brand name and recognition. If you are interested in CSE then it is the best option. After BITS Pilani, VIT is considered to be the best private college in India.
Academics are taken seriously at VIT. It also offers good exposure and opportunities. VIT Vellore CSE average package for 2021 placements was INR 7.38 LPA.
You should prioritize your branch of choice rather than the institute. If you are interested in ECE, choose RV, otherwise, VIT will be better.
Choosing an institute to pursue Computer Science can be really tricky considering the brilliant quality of infrastructure and faculty members all these institutes offer these days. However, here are some of the major factors that will be helpful for you to decide which institute you would like to get into in the future.
Ranking:
RV College of engineering ranked 7th among the best private engineering colleges by The Week in 2020.
NIT Nagaland ranked 91st by JEE Cut off in 2019.
NIT Mizoram has ranked 90th and NIT Karnataka ranked 13th by MHRD in 2019.
Apart from that, NIT Rourkela ranked 16th; NIT Jaipur ranked 35th and NIT Durgapur ranked 47th in India by MHRD in 2019.

Around 45% of seats are filled with KCET qualified students, 30% of seats are filled with COMEDK qualifiers and the rest is reserved for management quota.
NITs:
On the other hand, aspiring students who want to pursue B. Tech in CS from NITs, have to qualify JEE Main, and for M. Tech, they have to qualify GATE.

Being ranked 93 for engineering in India by NIRF 2020, PES University offers a B.Tech degree in EEE which majorly focuses on aspects like devices, power electronics, control theory; signal processing. The department has 15 experienced faculties along with several visiting professors from national institutes.
RVCE is ranked 70th by NIRF for Engineering. It offers a 4 years BE degree in telecommunication offering core specializations in Networking, Wireless Communications, Signal Processing, and Embedded Systems.

Aspirants must decide which college is best for them as per their passion towards the subjects. Comparatively, the telecommunication branch has less opportunities in RVCE or anywhere in India in general. It must be noted that if you aim for higher studies by clearing GATE, EEE has an upper hand as there is no paper for telecommunication thus aspirants must attend ECE paper.
Without any second thoughts, RVCE is a better option than IIIT Bhubaneswar for CSE. Here are some strong points in favor of this claim
Overall, choosing RVCE over IIIT Bhubaneswar will offer more opportunities and therefore should be given more preference.
RV College of Engineering, Bangalore is a better option compared to IIIT Guwahati. Bangalore is home to major MNCs and startups. As a student of RV College, you can leverage the location advantage to get placements, internships, and projects.
RV College of Engineering placements is better. The median CTC for the college is INR 8.93 LPA. For 2021, the highest CTC offered was INR 53.18 LPA.
Without a doubt, RV College is better than IEM College for engineering. It is popular for branches like Computer Science Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The points which make it superior are:
Ranking: (Winning Institution - RV College of Engineering)
RV College is under the top 50 colleges as per NIRF Rankings, with a rank of 35. IEM College is not even in the capstone of 100.
Location: (Winning Institution - RV College of Engineering)
RV College is in the Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru. This gives an advantage of more job opportunities and explores the top companies, whereas IEM College is in Kolkata. The place is among the lowest GDP cities in the country. Therefore, it is not good enough for jobs and growth opportunities.
Placement: (Winning Institution - RV College of Engineering)
RV College of Engineeringoffers an average package of over 10 LPA for circuital branches. For non-circuital branches, the average CTC offered is around 5 LPA.

Streams:
RV College even offers a larger number of engineering streams as compared to IEM. It gives a lot of choices to students. Among those, CSE/ISE is the most distinguished branch.
Crowd: (Winning Institution - RV College of Engineering)
The crowd for engineering in RV College is more competent and of better quality than IEM. The reason being that RV College admits quality students as per the COMEDK ranks that are usually within 1000. The CSE branch records even higher competition as the cut-off rank is 500. IEM College accepts students to 3000 rankings in WBJEE.
Overall, the above points highlight the RV College is anytime better than IEM.
Both Nirma University and RVCE Bangalore are one of the prestigious colleges in India for Engineering. NIRF 2020 has ranked Nirma University at 131 for engineering. Whereas, RVCE Bangalore is ranked 70 for engineering by NIRF 2020. One thing which also needs to be taken into consideration is that Nirma University is a private University situated in Ahmedabad while RVCE is a semi-autonomous University.
Admission
Nirma University offers BTech courses in various specializations at the UG level for engineering whereas RVCE offers BE degrees.
RVCE considers the marks of KCET or CET and the 12th marks for creating the merit list, while Nirma University takes the JEE score into account.
The minimum requirement is 60% in class 12th with a good score in respective exams, to get admission to both of these colleges.
The course fee for BTech at Nirma University is 7.24 Lakhs. Whereas, RVCE Bangalore charges around 12 lakhs for BE courses.
So, Nirma University has a more affordable course fee for engineering courses.
Placements:
It can be said that both of these colleges have a similar reputation and are visited by the same companies every year, but RVCE University is located in Bangalore which is a hub of Engineering. So the Internship Opportunities and the exposure provided there are a bit better than the Nirma University.
Nirma University:
The highest CTC offered was of INR 16 LPA, while the average package was 8.2 LPA.
Many Companies visited the campus with Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Infosys, Tata Motors, Philips, Tata, Amul, Ashok Leyland Daiken, Reliance Industries Limited.
RV College of Engineering:
There were almost 249 participants last year in the campus placement and they offered 1274 job offers, with top recruiting companies like Deloitte, Amazon, JP Morgan, LinkedIn, Flipkart, Tech Mahindra, Mercedes Benz, Cleartrip, Intel, etc.
The highest package offered was 52 lacs per annum while the average package offered was 8.63 lacs per annum.
So after seeing all the statistics and comparison between both of these colleges, it can be concluded that RVCE Bangalore would be a bit better over Nirma University as it is having better placement records, more experienced faculty. However, Nirma University has a more affordable course fee. So, choose according to your convenience.
Since my sister studied at RVCE, I can give you information about it.

Exam Pattern: You will definitely score more than or equal to 90% if you solve 3-4 previous years semester endpapers.
Not commenting anything on lower IIITs since I don’t have much knowledge about it. But, if given a chance to join any RVCE or any lower IIIT like Kota or Vadodara, I would always go for RVCE.
The dilemma of choosing an engineering branch is one of the most common situations for students who just cleared their 12th boards. Now coming to the question, there are two pieces of advice to be followed in this case.
Overall, it's best recommended to follow your interest first as these will be career deciding years of your life, and you don’t wanna regret it later. After all, your hard work and passion are what determines your success.
