If you are from the general category, then it is a bit difficult to get MAIT with a 5,160 rank in the spot round. However, you can try for the Mechanical branch in the third round of counseling.

Among MAIT, and BVP the former is the better option when compared in terms of academics, opportunities, and placement records of past years. The placement statistics recorded as per the latest recruitment drive are as follows for both the colleges.

Go through the above factors and choose the option that is more convenient for you.

The point of concern here is your branch preference.

• For CSE it completely depends on your skill. If you are skilled enough, you are good to go off-campus. There are a lot of opportunities. You do not have to bother about on-campus placements.
• For ECE campus matters. There are a few core companies in ECE and they visit IITs only. Chances are low getting in core with off-campus too. So, ECE students either do coding or go for M-Tech or join small core companies offering low packages. Once you are good with Softwares/ Basics you are as good as a CSE graduate.

• The commutation time is more at MSIT. It is crucial to saving your traveling hours to be productive. You can join if commutation is easy for you.
• MAIT has a casual approach. You need not worry about attendance or internal markings.
• BVP Pune is a strict institute. They look for attendance and internal markings based on your performance. You cannot expect any grace marks or partiality. It has an AC campus.
• Fee and Placement:

After considering the above factors, you can choose the best-fit institute for yourself.

Before enrolling at any university you must have done all the research from your side so that you can get help in following your career goal. You must see the institute’s placement record, infrastructure, faculties, facilities, etc.

I have one of my friends studying at Lovely Professional University so I can give you some information regarding LPU.

Lovely Professional University is the best choice to take admission in as the university sees constant growth since its establishment. It shifted its approach from local to global presence and brought new ways of education such as shifting from classroom education to online education.

Facilities:

• LPU has a practical curriculum, which gives students professional culture, practical industrial knowledge at the university level.
• LPU infrastructure includes shopping malls, cafeterias, largest accommodations, transportation system, university management system, etc.

Academics:

LPU provides its students with training, internship, extracurricular activities such as sports events, cultural events, celebrity events, on-the-job training, project-based learning programs, etc.

Placement:

The placement record of LPU is decent. Here is the placement report for 2021.

Some of the major recruiting companies at the institute are Tech Mahindra, Google, Amazon, Oracle, ITC, Samsung, Ericsson, Bosch, L&T, etc.

Exposure:

LPU students are involved in exploring new innovative ideas which are displayed to over ten thousand school students.

Environment:

In LPU students all over the world come to study and live in their hostel. The mix of cultures helps in creating a dynamic environment. Interaction with different nationalities makes you aware of different cultures and backgrounds.

Therefore, pursuing graduation from LPU is worth it. So if you have a choice to choose between MAIT or LPU, then go for the latter.

USICT has a good placement record. Some of the major recruiters at the institute are Nagarro, Impetus, Infogain, Infosys, Winsol, etc. And there are some companies that include Cognizant, TechMahindra that invite sit-in pool placements.

Other than that, one of the good things about USICT is that almost every student got placed from the CSE and IT departments.

Here is a brief highlight of the recent placement statistics at these institutes.

IGDTUW is better than USICT in terms of placements and packages but lacks behind in infrastructure.

IPU–CET is the annual university level entrance test conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) to induct students to its various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the affiliated colleges as well as its own schools.

As far as marks are concerned GGSIPU does not reveal the marks but only the ranks of the students. Now, as far as ranks are concerned these are the required cutoffs for CSE in recent years.

These are the ranks of the last round after which admission stops. Aim for a rank lower than that for getting admission in earlier rounds. Also as these are last-round ranks there is very little chance of the ranks getting any lower than that.

Firstly, and foremost, you should try and maintain good attendance records as it is one of the criteria according to which the internal marks are allotted.

Do not skip or bunk classes as you will be marked for attendance. Due to the shortage of attendance, one of my friends scored 67 in one of her subjects and she regretted it later.

Don’t leave any questions in the examinations and tests. Always try and attempt all the questions, even if you don't have any clue, write something about the topic. There have been many instances wherein students score more than what they attempted and expected to score.

Prepare a good presentation during the end-term examinations. Try to follow some of the presentations that you create and you can surely score well over 80 percent for your scorecard.

I have friends at both MAIT and DSCE, so I think I can give you some information about the institutes, which may be helpful.

• Location is the most important parameter that you need to consider while choosing one of these two institutes. As DSCE is in Bangalore and MAIT is in Delhi. Choose the location which is better suited for you.
• Both institutes are reputed and will offer you good infrastructural facilities and placement opportunities. But if we consider CSE specifically then MAIT has an edge over DSCE. CS/IT is one of the best branches of MAIT and you will get ample opportunities there.
