Studied at Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science

The level of difficulty for the IIFT, NMAT, CAT, and CMAT exams can vary depending on the year and the specific sections of the exam. However, here is a general idea of the difficulty level for each exam:

  • IIFT: The IIFT exam is considered to be moderately difficult. The exam consists of questions on topics such as quantitative ability, logical reasoning, verbal ability, and general knowledge. The general knowledge section is often the most challenging, as it requires extensive knowledge of current affairs and business-related issues.
  • NMAT: The NMAT exam is considered to be of moderate difficulty. The exam consists of three sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. The questions are designed to test your problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and reasoning ability.
  • CAT: The CAT exam is considered to be one of the most difficult MBA entrance exams in India. The exam consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. The questions are designed to test your analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • CMAT: The CMAT exam is considered to be of moderate difficulty. The exam consists of four sections: Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness. The questions are designed to test your ability to solve problems, make decisions, and communicate effectively.

Overall, all these exams require dedicated preparation, consistent practice, and a thorough understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus. The difficulty level may vary from year to year, and it is important to stay updated on the latest exam trends and patterns.

Which college should one take up for architecture, BIT Mesra or NIT, Trichy and why?

BG
Bidita Ghose Posted On : August 9th, 2023
Lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

My uncle is a successful architect and has the experience of employing many architects. He shared his experience stating that architecture students of both BIT Mesra and NIT Trichy are Unfortunately both the institutions are engineering colleges where architecture is considered equal because both are engineering colleges with Architecture as just one of the many specializations offered by the institute. None of these institutes are specialized in this field so the students study in a more engineering-oriented ambiance. They lack the ability to think independently of constraints imposed by engineering abilities available in India. I recommend you pursue Architecture from an institution that has Architecture as its flagship course like CEPT or SPA.

Nevertheless, comparing Architecture from BIT Mesra and NIT Trichy, I will say the former has a better crowd and opportunities than the latter. Both are somewhat at similar levels and it's hard to make a direct comparison. It's that students from BITS Mesra are better exposed so they make better Architects than NIT Trichy students.

Which is better, VIT CS or NIT Surathkal CS?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 14th, 2023

Even though I am a CSE student at VIT Vellore, I would like to point out some weaknesses of my institution-

  1. The annual intake for all the branches, all four categories, is quite high at VIT Vellore. It is close to 5000 students each year. In the CSE branch alone, close to 1300 students are admitted annually (including Bioinformatics).
  2. Placements seem very high, but in reality, large scale mass recruitments by IT firms like Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, etc. inflate the placement figures.
  3. The course fee at VIT is comparatively higher. It is around 1.95 Lakhs per year. This too if you are a category 1 (merit) student. Around 1 Lakh per year is added if you belong to the other three categories.
  4. Advanced Placement Training sessions have been introduced for students. But these sessions aren’t really helpful in practicality. In fact 6 hours of each weekend is spent in these sessions.
  5. Those with a good CGPA get good hostel rooms in good blocks. Those who fail to score high grades are given older blocks.
  6. The hostel rules are strict. This is especially true when you have to get a leave sanctioned from your faculty advisor or proctor.

NIT Surathkal, on the other hand, is a government college. It has an intake of around 800 students in all the branches, with 120 students in CSE. The institution offers top notch placements. There are no mass hirings. The course fee falls between 1.38 to 1.57 Lakhs per year. College rules are much more flexible.

Thus, based on these observations, I would suggest you take admissions in NIT Surathkal for your CSE program.

Does LNCT Bhopal has uniform?

SS
Shraddha Sharma Posted On : September 21st, 2021
B.E. Engineering,Lakshmi Narain College of Technology,Bhopal (2017)

Different colleges under the university have different uniforms. But one thing is for sure that uniform is mandatory. So, be it BE or B.Pharma or MBA, MCA, each college under LNCT has a set of uniforms.

  • 1st-year students have to wear a uniform every working day. From the 2nd year onwards, you can wear anything casual on Wednesday.
  • For 1st-year girls’ students, the dress code is Gray Pants, White shirt and a Waist Jacket.
  • From the 2nd year, girls have to wear a White Salwar suit. You will not be allowed to wear leggings or any printed kurta.
  • During winters, you have to wear a green blazer which will completely suit your white dress. The blazer is provided by the college itself at the time of your admission process.

Almost all the engineering colleges of Madhya Pradesh have different uniforms for the students. Now, this uniform culture is also seen in non-technical colleges as well. Few students don’t like it but according to me, it's a sign of equality that’s why to be proud to wear a uniform in college.

LNCT Bhopal has the best discipline and joyful environment. Mark my words, you guys will love to be there.

Is there anyone who remains unplaced from old IIM, XLRI, FMS Delhi, and NITIE? Is it possible to be?

HR
Hira Ramchandani Posted On : January 9th, 2023
MBA in Human Resources & Strategy, Xavier School of Management (Graduated 2011)

Top B-Schools have created an Invincible persona and have successfully marketed it over the years; however, there is now a demand-supply mismatch, with seats at all B-Schools almost doubling or tripling in the last decade, and a slew of new IIMs or branches of top colleges such as MDI Murshidabad, IIFT Kolkata, NITIE, FMS Delhi, and XLRI Delhi. The colleges will suffer as a result of the lack of job offers from top companies. The only increase can be attributed to recently funded startups that have started hiring from these colleges by offering outrageous packages.

There are students who are unable to be placed during the normal Summers / Finals process, but these colleges use their star alumni base to place the remaining 5-8 students in companies cofounded by the alums or through alums who have been placed in top positions in traditional corporates.

How does a BIT MESRA hostel room looks like? Can anyone provide some photographs?

AB
Arun Biswas Posted On : August 16th, 2023
Studied at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra

A typical hostel room at BIT Mesra is a 10*10 space. It has single occupancy and contains a bed, a chair, a table, and a few racks to keep your belongings. Each room has proper ventilation. The windows face the open grounds which grants easy access to mosquitoes and flies into the rooms. Each room has a tubelight and a fan. Some hostel rooms are comparatively new, while the others are a bit old. However, the rooms are pretty decent and have decent space for a single occupant.

My brother lived in hostel 10, 7 and 5 during his first, second and third year, respectively. The rooms in these were new and pretty decent. During his final year, he stayed at hostel 3 and his room was decent but very old. However, in the same hostel, his friend got a room which looked new.

The rooms at BIT Mesra are good enough and you will find them livable.

What is your review of the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi?

RJ
Rishit Jain Posted On : December 30th, 2022
Studied at Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi

One of the most cited B Schools in India, the Faculty of Management Studies focuses more on management education and not just on business management. The pedagogy comprises fieldwork, case studies, and feedback with a strong emphasis on concepts and theory.

According to IIFT 2022, its national rank is 4th. I will try to give an unbiased review based on the following aspects

Placements

FMS Delhi maintains a stable placement record of almost 100% over the years. Students receive high salary packages every year. The highest salary this year stood at INR 58 LPA whereas the average salary stood at INR 34.2 LPA which increased by 30.5% as compared to the previous year. Some major firms that visited the campus for recruitment are Boston Consulting Group, Nykaa, Paytm, Adobe, Adani Group, and BYJU.

Infrastructure

Although FMS offers no special hostel facilities, the DU hostels are also a choice. Around 20% of the batch go for hostels test search for PGs or flats near the campus itself. The students can avail of playground and sports facilities at Delhi University.

Faculty

The faculty is top-notch and very experienced. The teaching is not restricted to classrooms and assignments rather the faculty adopts a case-based approach. Various live projects are conducted every year. Top management executives visit the campus and hold guest lectures to provide maximum exposure to its students. Other assignments and field projects have tight deadlines and aid in the proper evaluation of the students.

So overall I think FMS is really a good choice for someone who wants to learn from the best at minimal expenses.
