It’s good that you have a target in your mind and aren’t leaving everything to luck. The best way for a non-genius student to get a seat at IIT Kanpur's Computer Science program is to work hard and consistently. Rather than stating the usual; solving previous year question papers, joining good coaching institutes, coordinating school with coaching classes, and self-study, I will talk about some of the most basic things that people often undermine
- Whenever you feel you are falling into a slump, remind yourself that there are hundreds of students who want you to fail in order to grab your position. Remind yourself of this continuously and you will find yourself out of that bubble.
- It’s important to assess your own abilities and be honest with yourself rather than being overconfident. I have seen people who are confident with their academics end up with poor grades. Don’t undermine yourself but don’t even overestimate yourself. Remember you are surrounded by geniuses.
- Don’t get addicted to useless stuff and activities that waste your time. Instead, go for a walk or read for a break.
- You should have prepared yourself mentally and physically for the sacrifices you have to make and the efforts you have to invest.
- Study books that make you understand the concepts in a simpler manner yet give you a comprehensive understanding.
- Motivate yourself with the possible outcome and the reaction of your family. Keep yourself reminded of the happiness and success will harbor.
I would like to end the answer on a final note: There are no non-geniuses, just bad students who do not pay attention in class and bad teachers who do not teach well.
Which is better for M.Tech - civil engineering, IISc Bangalore or IIT Madras?
M.tech Civil Engineering from IIT Madras is a good choice.
- This department is reputed and the faculty is well-experienced.
- You will get to learn and work on practical projects. You will also get the opportunity to intern at top companies.
- The course curriculum has been designed to prepare the students for industry trends.
- The placement records of this department are promising, in 2023, the highest package offered was INR 49.7 LPA.
- The first-year fees of M.tech Civil Engineering from IIT Madras is INR 24,600.
- The eligibility criteria to get admission in this course is that you must be a graduate and appear for the GATE examination.
Which is the best course in Thiagarajar College of Engineering?
Your subject preference should be completely based on what you are interested in. But CSE, EEE, and ECE are some of the popular courses at Thiagarajar College of Engineering.
ECE or EEE:
- There is a Technology Business Incubator set-up on the campus, the TIFAC-CORE is only available at fewer places in India. It is a center of excellence for wireless technologies and is an anechoic chamber for several antenna testings and characterizations.

Which colleges in DU allow inter college migrations?
To migrate, you must obtain a NOC (no objections certificate) from both your current college and the college to which you wish to transfer.
If you are a bright student, your principal is unlikely to grant you NOC.
If you are an average student, the college where you want to go will not give you a NOC. Justice believes that it is practically a gain for the principal to accept an average student into his college.
Let's get to the point where we migrate when there are open seats in the college we want to attend. However, CBCS was implemented at DU in 2015, and no student will be failed under CBCS.
Even if a student fails, he will be allowed to continue to the next semester. It is up to the individual whether or not he clears his paper by taking improvement exams.

Between IIM L and XLRI, which is better?

XLRI is widely reputed across the country. If you check the credentials of multinational brands operating in India, most of them are XLRI alumni.
Student life at XLRI is much better compared to IIM L. The personality development programs of XLRI are pretty good and help students gain management and leadership traits. IIM L has a more traditional approach toward academics.
My academics are 65% 75%. Is there any chance to get a call from IIM Calcutta or Bangalore?
If you have a 99 percentile or higher, you have a good chance of getting a call from IIM Calcutta. Many students with less than 60% are enrolled in IIM C.
IIM Bangalore is unlikely because they place a high value on the profile.
The only thing you can do right now is to perform effectively on the CAT and improve your profile. Attempt to improve your CAT score. Do a variety of certifications to raise your profile. Never waste your valuable time worrying about your academic performance. What has been done is done, you cannot change it.
Is the LM Thapar School of Management good for doing an MBA? Is it better than Amity University?
LM Thapar School of Management is incomparable with Amity University. It offers specifically designed activities and courses which enhance the understanding and comprehensive learning ability of a student. They have a top-class infrastructure. Teaching faculties are highly qualified and few of them even have industrial experiences who can guide you better on practical terms.

LM Thapar School of Management is better when compared to Amity University for MBA programs. One of my friends passed out from LM Thapar and got a job with an appropriate salary package. He gradually grew to a better position.
How do I get a duplicate marks card issued from VTU?
asYou should first file a police complaint regarding your missing marks cards, they will give you a complaint copy. After that, you can apply for your duplicate copy.
- Visit VTU website - VTU Online fees payment, you will find the form for duplicate marksheet.
- You need to pay INR 600 per semester for duplicate marks cards. You need to make the payment online, by using the SBI link on the website.
- Fill out the form. Enclose the fees receipt with your application. You also need to include the original FIR and an original affidavit on stamp paper of ?20, mentioning the details of USN, Name, semester, month and year of examination of the marks card lost and requesting the concerned authority for the issue of a duplicate of the same. If the original copy is found after the duplicate is issued, it needs to be returned to VTU.
Enclose the form, fees receipt, FIR, and affidavit in an envelope and send it to VTU. You can also visit VTU, by yourself.
What is the standard of questions that are set in IISER aptitude tests?
A few of my friends have taken the IISER aptitude test and according to them, the difficulty level of the questions asked is equal to or less than JEE Mains level. They are mostly conceptual and there will be very few numerical questions.
IISER aims to test your conceptual understanding rather than your problem-solving skills.
- Maths - If you are preparing for JEE Advanced, then the questions usually asked in the maths section for the IISER aptitude test will be quite easy for you.
- Physics - You can easily solve most of the questions if your basics are clear. The question also won’t require you to do lengthy calculations. Physics questions are usually at the JEE Mains level.
- Chemistry - For Chemistry too, the questions will test your conceptual clarity.
- Biology - Reading NCERT textbooks will be sufficient to score well in Biology.
So, to score well in the IISER aptitude test, thoroughly read your 11th and 12th textbooks.
What's your opinion of KGMU?
My sister is a student at KGMU so this answer is based on her experience only.
- KGMU is the largest Residential Medical University in India offering a wide variety of medical courses. The entire academic framework is formed by a total of 75 departments. Moreover, its Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (DPMR) is the largest multidisciplinary inpatient tertiary care rehabilitation hospital in North India.
- The research culture at KGMU is unmatched and it’s the hub of research activities for various WHO, ICMR, DBT, and UPCST projects. The hospital receives huge research funds and many of the studies are collaborated with medical schools abroad. The annual publications of a few of the faculties exceed that of any decent college’s total publications.
- The patient flow here is huge and it caters to an almost 20-crore population of the entire north India. On average, KGMU has 10,000 patients every day. The patient inflow and the clinical exposure we get are just unparalleled.
- KGMU has churned out many great scientists and clinicians. Many alumni hold high positions overseas including senior faculty and research posts in the USA, UK, Australia, and Gulf countries. Many of our alumni are Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awardees.
- Every UG or PG student and faculty has access to UpToDate, Nature Research, Clinical Key, SpringerLink, JAYPEEDIGITAL, Clinical Learning, BMJ Case Reports, BMJ Best Practice, and ERMED Consortium.
- KGMU has a separate Placement Cell consisting of several students and faculties. This cell offers academic and non-academic guidance.
- KGMU has Foreign Exchange Programs with several universities abroad.
- Every year, the ‘MBBS Student Research Award’ is awarded to a UG student who has published the first authored article in a national or international journal.
Overall, KGMU is an excellent medical college at par with AIIMS.
