How do I get VTU marks card degree certificate attested and how many days does it take Can we get it done in Bangalore?

RC

Studied at Visvesvaraya Technological University (2018)

I have a few friends from VTU and according to them, there are three ways to get this.

By Hand at VTU Belagavi: Go to the Examination Section of VTU Belagavi. Fill out the required paperwork and pay the fee by 12:30 p.m. to receive your documents by 4:30 p.m.

By Post: Go to VTU's website and download the application form, fill it and make online fee payment. Mail the application, fee payment acknowledgment, along with attested documents by post to VTU's Registrar (Evaluation). Documents will be mailed to the address you provided in your application. This can take anything from 7 to 14 days.

Manually at VTU Regional Center, Bengaluru: VTU Regional Center, Bengaluru accepts applications for selected documents. Application forms and fee payments are normally made at nearby Cyber Centers, but instead of sending them to VTU Belagavi by post, you can follow step 2 above and hand in the application at VTU Regional Center. After roughly 8–10 days, you must personally pick up the documents at VTU Regional Center.

Here are some of the things that you should keep in mind.

  • Online payments are only accepted through the SBI payment link on the VTU website. Cash or DD are not accepted.
  • Only the Degree Certificate is issued by VTU to autonomous college students; all other documents, like grade cards, PDCs, and so on, are issued by the autonomous college itself.
  • Only if the degree certificate has not yet been issued can a PDC be issued. Because degree certificates are granted during convocation, which normally takes place in January or February each year, one should not register for PDC after convocation.
  • Degree certificates can be collected in person on the day of the convocation at VTU Belagavi, and you will not have to wait for them to be mailed to you.

Hope this answers your doubts.

What are the college timings at UEM Kolkata?

BM
Biswajit Maiti Posted On : June 18th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science, University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata (2020)

My elder brother is an alumnus of UEM Kolkata. The timings are not exactly flexible.

  1. The first shift takes place from 9:20 AM to 4:00 PM. On any two days of the week, the class schedule will be from 9:15 AM to 5:45 PM.
  2. Two recesses are also included in the schedule.
  3. The morning assembly is held from 9:00 AM to 9:20 AM.
  4. The second shift is from 12:15 PM to 5:45 PM.

You can also consult for choosing one shift in case you are not comfortable with the other shift. A lot of students managed to get their shifts changed so take it with a grain of salt.

The second shift is the one where my brother was because there would be no stress of being late for class, less tension for submission of assignments. The only thing that will “tire” you will be the excursions.

The institute offers commendable infrastructural facilities and quality education to the students which is why so many students choose this college for pursuing engineering and management.

Is it good to prepare for the GATE and the IES simultaneously?

SR
Swarupa Roy Posted On : January 14th, 2021
BTech Mechanical Engineering IIT BHU (2018)

If you are preparing for IES then you can also simultaneously prepare for GATE as well with just a little extra effort. The syllabus of IES is quite vast as compared to the GATE syllabus. If your primary goal is to crack IES, concentrate more on the IES and study for GATE parallelly. If you are more interested in GATE, you need to make some extra effort.

However, if you are equally interested in both you can follow the strategy given below for preparation.

IES Preparation:

  • Read class notes and solve the workbook regularly.
  • Make short notes for each subject containing formulas, facts, and the new concepts you learned while reading.
  • Solve previous year’s questions for IES and GATE. Note down the important questions you come across. During revision, go through the short notes you made and the questions too.
  • Give online and offline mock tests regularly.

GATE Preparation:

If you follow a smart study plan you can complete the GATE preparation in just one and a half months. The syllabus for GATE is just like a subset of the IES syllabus. Both of them have several topics in common.

You can follow this strategy to crack the exam:

  • One month before GATE, thoroughly read all the class notes.
  • Solve previous year’s question paper as much as possible.
  • Take as many mock tests as you can.
  • 10-12 days before the exam, revise the short notes daily.

You can prepare for IES for the whole year and do the major chunk of preparation for GATE in the last 1-2 months. One of my friends followed this pattern for his preparation and was successful. But you don’t have to follow this plan blindly, you can make up your own strategy too.

Is IIEST Shibpur better than HBTU Kanpur?

SN
Subhadra Nandi Posted On : March 15th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (2019)

The answer is definitely yes as the Indian Institute of Engineering and technology is more than 60 years older than Harcourt Butler University. Both the colleges have rich heritage and have contributed immensely to the development of information technology in India.

The prominent factors which make IIEST better than HBTU are :

  • Alumni - IIEST has a more renowned base of alumni ranging from USA world’s Greatest Structural Engineer to reputed researchers, scientists, educators and professors. HBTU has not a very attractive list of alumni in the domain of information technology.
  • Placement - The placement details of both the colleges are as follows:

Categories

HBTU

IIEST

Highest Package

INR 60 LPA

INR 39 LPA

Average Package

INR 7.18 LPA

INR 10 LPA

Number Of recruiters

40

111

Top recruiters

Google, Microsoft, Oyo Rooms, IBM

Microsoft, Wipro, Cognizant, IOL, Vedanta, HSBC Technologies

HBTU offers a higher package but the number of individuals getting that package is very less. Also, the average package is less as compared to IIEST. It also attracts more core recruiters than HBTU.

  • Curriculum - IIEST has an updated & dynamic syllabus as it has to keep at par with the standards in the market. It also holds top ranks in the research parameters in several domains. The allocation of funds by the government has also made it even easier.

IIEST, therefore, makes a way ahead of HBTU due to various reasons but the choice can be easily influenced by other unmentioned factors like location, fee range, and scores in the competing examination.

How much time is needed to prepare for the IIM Indore entrance exam, i.e., IPM?

GP
Garima Pandey Posted On : August 25th, 2021
MBA General Management & Data Science, Indian Institute of Management Indore (2021)

There is no need to prepare for IPMAT separately if you have studied Maths up to class 12. Just revise all concepts and formulas time and again. If you are worried about English, it should be pretty easy for you considering you read and write in it regularly.

You should be disciplined and have a plan of action. You will be able to complete the entire syllabus required for the exam within 30 to 40 days.

After that, think of focusing your attention on topics that are essential for students. For example, my sister was not fluent in her language skills and she was not on the same level as her peers. For this, she spent extra time working on developing those skills. She completed her language section and devoted the rest of her time to mathematics and solving sums.

You should definitely look at time management and seeing where you lack. Being a student from a mathematics background, you will not need private classes or even tutoring. Prepare well and in advance to go back and work on your weaknesses.

What is the difference between degree certificate and supplementary degree certificate from Pune University?

MC
Meghmala Chowdhury Posted On : April 12th, 2023
studied at Savitribai Phule Pune University

The degree certificate and the supplementary degree certificate from Pune University are two different documents that serve different purposes. Here's a brief overview of the difference between the two:

  • Degree Certificate: The degree certificate is the main certificate issued by Pune University to a student who has successfully completed their course of study. It is issued only once and contains all the relevant information regarding the student's academic achievements, such as their name, course of study, marks obtained, and date of graduation. The degree certificate is an important document that serves as proof of a student's academic qualification and is required for various purposes, such as applying for jobs, pursuing higher studies, or immigration.
  • Supplementary Degree Certificate: A supplementary degree certificate, on the other hand, is issued to a student who has failed to clear one or more subjects in their final examination but has successfully passed the supplementary examination. The supplementary degree certificate is issued to provide the student with proof of their academic qualification and to acknowledge their efforts in clearing the failed subjects.

In summary, the main difference between the degree certificate and the supplementary degree certificate from Pune University is that the former is the main certificate issued to a student upon successful completion of their course, while the latter is an additional certificate issued to acknowledge the student's success in clearing failed subjects in the supplementary examination.

The full stack web development course offered by IIIT Bangalore in partnership with Upgrad has several benefits. It is an 11-month long program, but it is worth your time and money.

Before making my decision, I had a call with an UpGrad personnel and someone from IIITB. They described to me in detail how the curriculum was divided. I am mentioning the most important topics to give you a basic idea-

  1. Foundations of JAVA, Data Structures and Algorithms
  2. Backend (MVC, Spring and RESTful API’s)
  3. Frontend ( HTML, CSS, JS and REACT.JS)

Through this course, you’ll become eligible to work as a Backend Developer, a Frontend Developer, or a Full Stack Developer. All these roles are in high demand at present.

Can anyone tell about the Engineering Design branch at IIT-Madras?

TB
Tushar Banerjee Posted On : March 31st, 2023
studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras

The engineering design department at IIT Madras is the newest department on campus. If you're interested in pursuing design-oriented courses closely related to mechanical engineering, this department is worth considering. The dual degree program in Engineering design has a good scope for campus placements, which are comparable to placements in the mechanical engineering department.

Although there are not many seats available for undergraduates, it's surprising to note that the department closes at lower ranks in JEE than other departments such as Civil engineering and Chemical engineering. The engineering design department also offers better core job packages than the aforementioned departments.

One of the advantages of being a new department is that the engineering design department boasts great infrastructure and classrooms, which are well-maintained compared to other older buildings on campus.

So if you're looking for a new and exciting department with promising career prospects, the engineering design department at IIT Madras might be the perfect fit for you
