How is the girl's hostel of (MBBS) JIPMER?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : September 21st, 2023

A close friend of mine shared a few pictures of her hostel room at JIPMER. This is Curie 1 and the little garden attached to it. My friend enjoyed staying at Curie 1 more than Curie 2 because the life here was more vibrant.

JIPMER college

The view from her balcony shows PG men's hostel and the two basketball courts in between

The room with the green curtain belonged to my friend and the first door towards the right is the washroom for the set of rooms that are in the corridor

This is the wash area with provision for drying clothes

This is what her room in Curie 1 looked like as a whole.

The rooms in Curie 2 are much bigger.

I hope the pictures helped you get a clear idea of the girls' hostel facilities at JIPMER.

Is it very tough to get into IPM IIM Indore for an average student?

SA
Sriparna Adak Posted On : June 30th, 2022
IPM from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak

With a little bit of effort, average students can get into IPM IIM Indore. If you have a flair for Mathematics and English and you have prepared well for the entrance, you should be able to clear the entrance examination.

The WAT and PI round differentiates the students who are good at solving MCQs from those who have good conceptual clarity, knowledge, and presence of mind. If you have these qualities, it won’t be that difficult to get admission to IIM Indore IPM program.

How is IIM Ahmedabad different than IIM B, C, K, and I?

NS
Nishad Shah Posted On : November 21st, 2022
Studies at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (Expected 2023)

IIM Ahmedabad is indeed different from IIM B, C, K, and I in many aspects. Some of these aspects are it’s:

  • Discipline: when it comes to discipline, IIMA tops the list. The first year is a real-life challenge for students with hundreds of cases to study, group assignments and projects.

  • Case pedagogy: This is the highlight of the IIM Ahmedabad curriculum. IIMAs curriculum aligns with that of Harvard Business School. So it focuses more on problem-solving classes.

  • Architecture: IIMs pride lies in its heritage architecture. The red bricks surrounding the semicircular arches enhance the campus’ appearance tenfold.

  • Crowd: Without any doubt, the cream of students get into IIMA. This is because it has the highest cutoff.

  • Faculty: IIMA has top-notch faculty while some of them are IIM Ahmedabad alumni themselves.

IIM Ahmedabad is different from other IIMs in all these aspects. But what really sets it apart is its director Ravi Matthai and his systems cultivating accountability and autonomy.

Which one is better: Thapar or HBTI Kanpur?

AR
Anuradha Roy Posted On : August 10th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science, Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur

I have friends from both Thapar and HBTI, so I think I can answer this question.

  • Thapar is a private university, so naturally, it has better infrastructure.
  • HBTI, on the other hand, is one of the oldest institutions of the country and at the same time has gained much reputation among the students. It also has an extensive alumni network.
  • Also, the chemical branch at HBTI Kanpur is well-known among students for its highly qualified and skillful faculty members.

Here are the recent placement highlights of the institutes.

Institute Thapar University HBTI Kanpur
Average CTC 8 LPA 7.18 LPA
Highest CTC 43 LPA 60 LPA
Major recruiters IBM, Wipro, Infosys, D.E Shaw India, etc. Microsoft, Google, Oyo Rooms

If you are aspiring for chemical technology or related branches then go for HBTI Kanpur and if you want to pursue some core courses then Thapar University is the best option.

How is the hostel facility at NIT Goa in terms of food, internet, and cleanliness?

TB
Tarun Bose Posted On : August 25th, 2021
Studied at NIT Goa (2019)

According to some of my friends studying at NIT Goa, their hostel facilities are not that great in all terms be it food, internet, and cleanliness.

  • No one can find good food at any hostel but it at least should be hygienic.
  • The internet speed is also not that great and on top of that students use that for entertainment purposes.
  • When it comes to cleanliness, It is even worse than the food and the internet.
  • The hostel which NIT Goa provides in the final year is the worst. It is recommended that you stay outside rather than live in the hostels like the M.Tech students.
  • The only thing you need to do to stay out of the hostels is to manage the transportation, and then you are good to go.

Hence, it is quite evident that it's not worth staying in the NIT Goa hostels and a student should prefer to stay out as paying guests or flats.

SVNIT is an Institute of National Importance and admissions to the B.Tech program at the institute are done through JEE Mains and Advanced examinations followed by JoSAA counseling procedures. If you have a home state quota that is provided to students that have completed their 10+2 (Intermediate) Education from Gujarat, it will be beneficial.

Here is the latest required cutoff for the institute.

Which one to choose SJMSOM or IIM Indore?

GR
Gargi Roy Posted On : August 24th, 2021
MBA Business Strategy & Marketing, Indian Institute of Management Indore (2018)

Both SJMSOM and IIM Indore are distinguished B-Schools in this league. IIM is a brand name on its own and offers certain perks that make it a better choice.

  • Specialization: SJMSOM is known for its Operations and IT/Analytics/Consulting. Most of the students remain confused in choosing their specialization and tend to delve into their options at the end of their first year. This can be quite helpful if you want to explore your options in the first year and then choose a specialization.
  • Placements: The factor that affects placements is the batch size. The less the batch size the more efficiently and steadily the placements are done with. Often IIM Indore completes their placement before SJMSOM and other IIMs. However, the competition at IIM Indore is high. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at SJMSOM and IIM Indore is 20 LPA and 23 LPA.
  • Campus: IIM Indore has a splendid campus situated out of the city. The campus is huge and is one of the best campuses in India. At SJMSOM, the campus is to be shared with engineering students. However, this is not much of a problem for students. IIM Indore also provides more extracurricular opportunities.

Hopefully, this would be helpful for you in making the right choice.

Is it necessary to attend classes in Mtech from IET Lucknow?

SP
Shivaay Pandit Posted On : August 10th, 2021
Studied at Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow

The best part about IET Lucknow is the freedom it offers to the students. The college does not intend to restrict students to only academics. There is no pressure for attendance. However, some faculties might give weightage to attendance. So, if you can balance the academics and extracurricular, you can negotiate with them. Never give a chance to your teachers to point down your mistakes.

Consider the below-mentioned points for this.

  • Decent grades and marks in the sessional tests can save you.
  • The faculties consider assignments too. So, make sure to submit your quality assignment adhering to all the instructions before deadlines. There is no need for more pages.
  • Be enthusiastic and noticeable in classes by raising questions or giving answers to the teachers. Also, respect your teachers.
  • Try to attend the lectures by the permanent faculties as such lectures are rare. There are only a few such faculties in the college. But they have vast experience and knowledge.
  • Some students fill the attendance by themselves as soon as the faculty leaves the register in the class. But it is risky, and there is a probability of getting caught.
  • Lab lectures are easy to skip. You can mark your attendance and leave the lab.

Overall, the classes are skippable in IET Lucknow if you have a decent image in front of faculties. Currently, compulsory attendance of 60% as per the rules of the new director is required, but 50% attendance will let you sit in exams.
