Which institute is better for pursuing an MBA, BIMTECH, SOIL, or IMI?

SJ
Sidhharth Jain Posted On : February 23rd, 2023
PGPM from SOIL Institute of Management (Graduated 2022)

When considering a post-graduate program in management, SOIL may be a strong option due to its flexible course offerings. SOIL offers a 1-year PGPM course, in addition to its 2-year MBA program, for individuals with at least 2 years of work experience. This can be particularly beneficial for those who wish to continue working while pursuing an advanced degree. Additionally, SOIL's average placement numbers are higher compared to BIMTECH but lesser than IMI, with an average placement of 11 LPA as opposed to 9.38 LPA and 12.87 LPA for BIMTECH and IMI, respectively.

However, it is important to consider other factors and conduct thorough research before making a final decision on which program to pursue.

How is Sant Longowal Institute Of Engineering & Technology?

JK
Jaskaran Kaur Posted On : May 17th, 2021
Mechanical Student at Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (2020)

The Sant Longowal Institute Of Engineering & Technology is an autonomous institution situated in Longowal, a small town in the district of Sangrur in Punjab. I have a known relative who is an alumnus of the institute. The following points are based on his experiences:

Pros

  • The infrastructure of the institute is spread over 450 acres.
  • The semester fee for a bachelor of engineering is 26,000 INR.
  • The campus has a playground as well as a stadium.
  • The ME and CSE department are renowned and the faculty is alumni of foreign universities and institutes like IITs.
  • It has scientifically oriented clubs like Endeavour for Robotics and Aeromodelling which take part in SAEINDIA Aero design Challenge, Junkyard warriors. They participate in SAEINDIA Baja competition and Juggernauts participate in F7 racing. The teams have achieved commendable results.
  • You will have a lot of time to prepare for GATE, IES, CDS, Civil Services, etc.
  • Placement for mechanical and computer science is ever-improving in this institute.

There are cons as well. The institute is situated in a remote area and it would be difficult for you to get coaching classes for GATE and other competitive exams.

The facilities provided by the institute leave a lot to be desired and so does the management which you will see in every technical institute funded by the government.

A
Admin Posted On : April 2nd, 2024

Sharda University and Amity University are famous for their placements and career opportunities. While Amity University is among the top choice for MBA applicants, Sharda University also offers a wide range of courses.

Choosing among these two universities also depends on the course curriculum, scholarships offered, fees, placements, faculty, social life, etc. You must analyse all the factors as every student has a different perspective.

In terms of exposure, Amity University is a better choice as many international students join the university across the globe. Also, the university has a lot of campuses in India making it possible for students to interact with each other during various fests and competitions.

For admission, Sharda University conducts a Sharda University Admission Test called SUAT for various UG and PG courses. It is a 90-minute CBT mode exam having 150 MCQs with no negative marking. The test is not so tough and the minimum passing mark required is 35%. While Amity University's admission criteria are merit-based. The applicants are also required to appear for a personal interview round for the final selection.

Talking about fee structure, Amity University Noida charges higher fees in comparison to Sharda University. The B.Tech fees range from INR 9.08 Lakhs to INR 16.52 Lakhs at Amity Noida whereas B.Tech fees start from INR 7.32 Lakhs at Sharda University.

Both of the universities have tie-ups with top MNCs for offering placement opportunities. The highest package of Amity Noida is INR 61.75 LPA (B.Tech) whereas the highest package of Sharda University stood at INR 1 CPA so far.
