Studied at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (Graduated 2018)

It is advisable to fill the forms of different colleges after the CAT results are announced. CAT (Common Admission Test) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by IIMs for admission to various management programs offered by participating colleges and universities across India.

CAT exam is usually conducted in November, and the results are typically announced in January. Once the results are announced, the participating colleges and universities release their cutoff scores and admission criteria. Based on these cutoff scores and admission criteria, the candidates can shortlist the colleges they want to apply for.

Here are some reasons why it is better to fill out the college application forms after the CAT results are announced:

  1. Accuracy: Filling in the college application forms after the CAT results are announced ensures you have accurate information regarding your CAT score and percentile. This helps you in selecting the right colleges based on your score and percentile.
  2. Time-saving: Filling out the forms after the CAT results are announced saves a lot of time. You do not have to fill multiple forms for colleges that you may not be eligible for based on your CAT score and percentile.
  3. Better clarity: After the CAT results are announced, colleges release their cutoff scores and admission criteria. This gives you a better idea of the colleges that you can apply for and the admission process.
  4. Cost-effective: Filling the application forms after the CAT results are announced saves money as you do not have to pay the application fee for colleges that you may not be eligible for based on your CAT score and percentile.

In summary, it is advisable to fill the forms of different colleges after the CAT results are announced to ensure accuracy, save time and money, and have better clarity about the admission process.

How does SP Jain give calls to students even before CAT results are out? What are these calls based upon?

HD
Harish Dua Posted On : December 7th, 2021
studied at S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (2018)

SP Jain gives calls to students even before CAT results are out because it is usually based on the profile of the student.

It is based on:

  • Academics: You must have more than 80 grades throughout your academics. If you are a graduate from a Tier 1 institute it will increase your chances.
  • Academic Accomplishments: If you have been topper of your state or university or a medal holder it would be a big advantage.
  • Other Accomplishments: If you have presented papers in International Journals or your initiatives which would prove the leadership qualities in you.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Be a national level sportsmen or represent our country in any event.
  • Work Experience : This is the most important factor in getting the call. For this you will be considered to be quite superior to other students.

All these factors will help you in getting a call from SP Jain, even before the declaration of the CAT results.

What colleges do I need to register for an MBA before the announcement of the CAT results?

PA
Preet Agarwal Posted On : December 7th, 2021
B. Com in Bachelor of Commerce, Narsee Monjee College of Commerce And Economics (2018)

This depends on your profile and scores. If you are confident of scoring a 95 percentile, you can go with tier 1 colleges and few of tier 2 colleges.

If you think you cannot score more than 90 percentile, there is no need to apply for the top colleges.

The selection becomes tough when you are oblivious to any idea about percentiles. This is the case with all applicants as the percentiles cannot be predicted easily. Due to this colleges earn millions without doing anything.

The best you can do is, apply to those colleges which accept the students having percentile in the range of your expected percentile. As a backup you can also apply to a couple of colleges below and above your expected range.

What are the minimum passing marks at RGPV University for the BE program?

SN
Shubham Naik Posted On : March 15th, 2023
B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal (Graduated 2018)

When it comes to B.E program, there are typically two papers that you will have to deal with at RGPV University: theory and practical. The theory paper usually accounts for 70 marks, and in order to pass it, you will need to score at least 22 marks. The other paper is practical, and in this examination, the marks you receive will be based on how well you answer the questions asked by the external examiner, as well as your attendance record. Your head of department (HOD) will then assign a score to your practical based on these factors.

To summarize, in order to pass your theory paper, you need to aim for a minimum score of 22 out of 70. Meanwhile, your practical score will depend on your performance during the examination, as well as your attendance record. Keep in mind that it is important to focus on both aspects of the examination in order to succeed in your B.E studies.

What CAT percentile does one need to get a call from IIM Amritsar?

RS
Rohan Sethi Posted On : February 6th, 2023
Content Creator

To get admission to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Amritsar for the year 2022, a minimum CAT percentile of 85 was required to receive an invitation for the further selection process. It's important to note that meeting the cutoff is a prerequisite for being considered for admission to the institute.

Aspiring students must pass the CAT examination and meet the established cutoff marks and ranks to be eligible for admission. Once the results of the entrance exam are released, the cutoff marks are announced and those who meet the criteria proceed to the counseling process. This process is used to determine final admission to the institute.

It's worth noting that the CAT exam for 2022 is conducted by IIM Bangalore and students generally get an idea of the expected cutoff trends by referencing the previous year's cutoff marks.

How much percentage of marks is needed to get a 9+ CGPA in KJ Somaiya College of Engineering (Since it has become autonomous)?

HK
Harshal Kulkarni Posted On : December 26th, 2022
M.B.A from K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR) (Expected 2024)

KJ Somaiya does not follow a relative grading system.

Before answering your question let's discuss how to calculate the grade of a particular subject. Every subject has its own credits which are preassigned (1,2,3 etc.). For example

    1. If you scored 90 in math 1, then you'll get a 10 grade point ( anything above 85 gives you 10 grade points).
    2. The next step is to multiply the grade point and credits (ie. 10*4=40).
    3. Next add up the results for all the subjects.
  • Calculation of CGPA= Added result of all subjects/maximum possible grade point*credit total.

So we can say that securing a 9+ pointer is fairly easy in the First Year at KJ Somaiya. All you need is an average of around 80-85% in semesters and you'll be above the 9-pointer mark.
