I am currently enrolled in B.Tech at an NIT is it okay for me to do the ISI Kolkata B.Stat program? Consider the fact that I dropped one year after year 12 for NIT.

B.Stat in Statistics (academic discipline) & Mathematics,Indian Statistical Institute (2017)

The path you want to get into is a very dangerous one and it can totally spoil your career without you being able to do anything for it.

ISI, B.Stat is a very famous course and is known for the entrance paper which is considered very tough by all those appearing in it. The course is tough because the student who is above the cutoff receives a huge financial help from the government covering the major portion of the tuition fee. Apart from this after the entrance exam the candidate can be certain of a well paid job one he/she completes the course and is awarded with the degree.

It gets difficult for the selections if there’s a year gap as lower age students are preferred and in your case there's a two year gap so the chances reduce even more. It would be very risky to change your college again and could cost some harm in your career.

How many marks have been necessary to take admissions in the BHU (math)?

VK
Vishal Kumar Posted On : November 15th, 2022
BSc from Banaras Hindu University

The BSc (Maths) entrance exam is BHU is one of the easiest exams. You can score fairly good marks by just going through your 12th-grade Maths, Physics, and Chemistry books. Study Chemistry from NCERT book. A thorough study of the following chapters will get you good marks:

  • Biomolecule

  • Polymer

  • Animes

  • Chemistry in everyday life

The questions in the entrance exam are mostly based on direct concepts or formulas.

As far as the number of marks necessary is concerned, there is no fixed digit. But at least attempt 70 questions without mistakes. This means you need to score at least 210 marks out of 450. However, this number keeps changing based on the pattern of the question paper.

Do you regret joining BSc Research at IISc Bangalore over B Tech at IITs?

BG
Bidita Ghose Posted On : July 14th, 2023
Lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

As a class 12th student, I wanted to become either an engineer or a doctor, simply out of societal pressure.

As I started understanding myself I realized that I did not want to become a doctor. Therefore, I started preparing for the IITs. I liked studying, so I was sure that I did not want a job after I was done with my UG degree. I wished to go into research.

I was naive at the time and thought IITians do not go for research work. I finally went for IISc to join BSc Research.

I do not regret joining BSc Research at IISc Bangalore. Had I done my B.Tech from an IIT, I would have switched to Neuroscience or Biophysics anyway. At IISc Bangalore, I realized my true calling.

Its curriculum made my switch to this interdisciplinary field a lot easier. The course fee for BSc Research at IISc Bangalore is affordable as well.

Therefore, I have no regret in choosing BSc Research at IISc Bangalore over B.Tech at IITs.

B.Sc. Forensics from Holkar Science College, Indore (2019)

The required cutoff varies depending on various factors. Generally, you should have a percentage above 90%, if you want to take admission in B.Sc CS at Holkar Science College. If you have above 90%, you can choose your preferred combination of subjects. There are many subject choices.

Holkar Science College is a decent institute. But it may not offer you job opportunities, after the completion of your degree. You will have to seek opportunities on your own. If you have other options, it’s better to consider them.

Studied at IIT Kharagpur (2019)

IIT Madras is one of the best institutes in India to offer an online B.Sc degree with the flexibility of completing the course in 6 years.

  • The course fees are very reasonable. There is a special 75% fees concession provided to the students with low-income backgrounds, thereby giving them a chance to pursue their careers.
  • At the end of the program, many universities conduct web-based exams in which cheating is impossible. They are kept under the strict supervision of the invigilators.
  • Regular offline quiz exams are conducted in these centers so that the students remain active and keep studying even following the online mode of study.
  • It is seen that the placements of the students pursuing BTech in CSE get very decent packages.
  • There is a high possibility of 80-90% of B.Sc. graduates getting good jobs as well.

How is the BSc course at Christ University, Bangalore?

A
Admin Posted On : May 16th, 2024

I am a BSc. student at Christ University. My experience of pursuing this course at Christ has been a mixed bag.

The faculty for BSc. at Christ is average at best, and the facilities offered to students are not up to the mark. One can approach the respective subject teacher if one wishes to study and research in that particular field.

Some events organized by the university which are related to this field, are quite good in all honesty. Another thing is that Christ University imposes a lot of rules and regulations on students, which can be very burdensome at times.

Overall, Christ University offers a decent BSc. program, and you can opt for the same if you do not come across better options.

What is the admission process in Delhi university (B.Sc)?

SA
Sanket Agarwal Posted On : November 9th, 2022
Studies Physics at University of Delhi

Delhi University has an elaborate admission procedure. The various steps are:

  1. DU has no option for offline admission. You need to first fill out an online application. You will be asked to fill in the courses you are seeking and the marks you obtained in your board exams.

  2. Wait for the cutoffs. For BSc, cutoffs are calculated as follows

Subject Cutoff Determined By
Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, etc PC & M/B
Mathematical Sciences, Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics Aggregate of marks in mathematics, one language subject and two best elective subjects.
BSc pass courses Aggregate of PCM
  1. The cutoff list is released shortly on its official website or even in newspapers. Check the college under which’s cutoff you fall and proceed to get admission.

  2. log in to the admission portal and select the college/program where you wish to take admission and meet the desired cutoff.

  3. After getting the printout of the admission form, visit your college and get your documents verified. Fill out any additional forms and attach essential documents.

  4. The college will then approve your admission on the UG admission portal

  5. Log in to the UG admission portal to make the online admission fee payment through the available online payment options.

Chances are you could not get into the desired college. In this case, you can wait for subsequent lists as DU releases 5 cutoffs. You can then follow the same procedure from step 4.
