Campus Life:
- Speaking of campus life, both the institutes are good in their own way.
- SRM has a very preferable campus, while on the flip side, MSIT has an average one.
- Yet, MSIT is situated in a very high-spirited location, which gives it the advantage of having numerous places to explore.
The choice, however, is yours. But in perspective with the above statements, MSIT would definitely be a better choice than SRM University, if considering the ROI factor, besides the IPU tag.
Is CSE good at SRM Sonepat?
SRM Sonepat is still in its developing phase. You won’t get your money’s worth there. There are only 3 B.Tech batches that have passed out. Most placement offers are either from the marketing sector or business analysts. Just 5% of the students get job offers in core sectors of their specific streams but with a very low package.
- The faculty is also not that good. You can get better teachers even in certain coaching institutes where your total expense can climb up to only 6-10k for a valuable cause.
- You can also get various other colleges at almost the same fees, such as HMR, LPU, AMITY, SHARDA, JAYEEE, SRM Chennai, VIT, and several others. They might charge you more than the average amount, but you will be provided better faculty and facilities. The study environment in SRM Sonepat is not good neither is the student crowd.
- The Civil and Mechanical branches have acquired nearly zero placement (except only a handful of 2–3 students) for the past couple of years. The students who pass out are mostly offered jobs that are not related to their actual branch.
So, it will be better if you don’t keep SRM Sonepat as one of your options.
Should I choose ECE in SRM OR NMIMS? Should I also consider an MBA Tech course?
Choosing among the two given institutes depends upon what you want to pursue in the future. The points below give a brief overview of the advantages of both the choices, based on which you can make a decision.
- If you want to do an MBA after the B.Tech directly, without preparing for CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, NMAT, etc. prefer the MBA Tech course from NMIMS. Although the B.Tech degree from NMIMS is not that good, the MBA degree is quite valuable and offers decent opportunities.
- If you want to do a separate B. Tech and then prepare for CAT, XAT, GMAT, etc for an MBA, then you should choose SRM over the other. In addition, the ECE department is one of the best departments in SRM University, which has an excellent faculty and offers good placements too.
- If you are interested in doing MBA from some foreign university, get minimum work experience after graduation.
