All the IIMs are excellent at their own level. Some things that set IIM Kozhikode different from others are:

• Food: The campus at IIM Kozhikode offers various eating options. Apart from the mess food, IIM Kozhikode has its own restaurant.

• Amazing courses: Apart from the traditional courses, IIM Kozhikode offers versatile courses like Social Transformation of India and Managerial Perspective.

• Sessions on self realisation: IIM Kozhikode offers a discretionary course called Self-Incorporated that covers aspects like self-awareness, positive attitude, courage and confidence.

• Campus Entertainment: The campus has a number of clubs for extracurricular activities like Krescendo (Music), Foot Vibes (Dance), Theatrix (Drama), Atharva (Quizzing), K-Matinee (Cinema), Tripod (Photography), Pro-lit Cult (Literary activities), Kalakriti (Designing) .

NIT Trichy’s administration and the overall environment were quite good sometime back. However, after a few years, things have drastically gone downhill. 

A new regulation on students’ attire was put into place. However, I was shocked to notice that the security guards were not strict towards the girl students who disobeyed these orders, whereas, the boy students were strictly scolded for the same disobedience and were denied entry into the main campus.

There is a curfew on the girls’ hostel timings. On the one hand, where universities and colleges are doing away with regressive rules, the NIT Trichy administration is putting more such regressive measures into place. The hike in hostel fees is not justifiable considering how students have to face a lack of drinking water, which is one of the most basic requirements of the human body.

Social media applications like Facebook and Hotstar are banned on the NIT Trichy campus. There are timings set for using the hostel wifi. The administration is not answerable to students and student welfare is being sidelined. The institution is paying attention to its infrastructure and faculty. However, the students are being treated as secondary citizens.

Thus, the main obstacle in the social life at NIT Trichy is the administration’s behavior towards the students.

The laid-back culture at IIM Calcutta does not mean it lacks academic rigor. Rather it’s a college experience and not survival. You meet profiles, not just people. You focus more on results than the intensity of efforts.

As far as academics are concerned, you will meet some of the best professors who will make your experience more appealing. They won’t treat you as children but rather as adults who know what's best for them.

Apart from academics, you inculcate so many skills like people management, leadership, and emotional intelligence. So you can literally pursue your career in any field once you get a taste of life at IIM. Calcutta.

Whether this chill culture will make you successful depends on your own attitude and perception of success. Experience of IIM Calcutta will definitely help you in one way or another in your life.

NIT Calicut has the best mess food with ten possible options, which include North Indian, South Indian, Vegetarian, Non-Vegetarian, etc. You can switch from one to another based on your interests. The hostel’s mess food is contracted to private businesses; hence, there is high competition between them to provide delicious food to the students.

So you won’t be disappointed with the food at NIT Calicut.

I have a few pieces of information on life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. My friend is a second-year M.B.B.S. student there and shared her experience of her first year. 

• To begin with, she was amazed by the huge diversity of the students here as she got to interact with students from all over the country and felt the cultural differences to the core.
• The festivals break all boundaries and all the students can be seen celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, and Pongal with the same zeal. The festival celebrations are the most lively moments of college life here. 
• Apart from festivals, there are many cultural fests, sports events, literary competitions, and a number of other exciting events that make your college life lively. 
• There is great harmony between seniors and juniors and seniors are ever ready to help.
• The faculty is also very friendly and cooperative and the labs are equipped with the latest instruments. 
• sports also play a major role in your college life and AIIMS Bhubaneswar has it all set with its sports facilities like a gym, basketball court, football ground, table tennis, and badminton.

Life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar is always chirpy and dynamic and you won’t ever feel out of place or bored. There is a great balance between academics and extracurriculars to give you the perfect college-life experience.

In my opinion, becoming a placement coordinator is the best way to make the most of the 2 years at IIM Lucknow. It lets you avail the best jobs and also you become a kind of head of the students who are just flattering you to land a decent job.

The curriculum is lacking and so are the placement scenarios. IIM Lucknow is the only IIM that never reveals the actual figures. The entire procedure is rigged and controlled by the placement coordinator. So becoming one will make your life easy as you will be scaling maximum benefits through minimal efforts.

Like any other institution, life at BITS Hyderabad is full of ups and downs.

The journey towards becoming an engineering professional is filled with moments of self doubt, loneliness, fear, anxiety and the urge to go back to one’s family. There are both good and bad moments in this journey, and one feels a lot of new emotions.

BITS Hyderabad has a really good student activity centre (sports centre), a diverse crowd, intelligent and enthusiastic people all around, an affordable all night canteen, good clubs, amazing departments, fests, a pretty good infrastructure and learned professors. 

All of this makes for a rich campus life, but you’ll have to be prepared to face the challenges that come along with all this.
