What are the ways I can fund PGDIE course in NITIE through the GATE? Is there any chance for the GATE toppers to get into this institute with a good amount of scholarship?

You will become eligible to avail of the monthly stipend of Rs. 12,400 which is provided by the MHRD once you qualify for the GATE exam. Other fee-waiver programs at NITIE will help in significantly reducing the amount of fee that you need to pay.

Also, there are scholarships that are provided to the students whose family income is less than a certain specified amount. In addition to this, as a student of NITIE, you can easily avail of an education loan.

Also, NITIE provides an opportunity for summer projects. Once you get selected for the internship, the company pays you a stipend for it.

On assuming the salary package, after clearing the GATE, which is better to choose an MTech in IITs or a management course in NITIE?

AP

The salary package that you receive depends on the type of organization you are part of, and your discipline of study.

For instance, the trend of artificial intelligence is continually spiking, with several similar industrial aspects. So, opting for IOT and M.Tech in fields relevant to these can undeniably bring better opportunities and higher packages in top-tier firms like Microsoft, Oracle and others.

Pursuing a management course from NITIE can also offer large pay packages if you are securing positions in top consulting services or FMCG firms.

However, comparing an M.Tech program of IIT with a management program of NITIE is not right. But, if you are talking about disciplines like Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, or Chemical engineering, then choosing the management courses of NITIE instead, can grab you better opportunities. But then again, it depends upon how prepared and thorough you are with your academic credentials.

But don’t choose an institute solely based on its placement record. Choose the field that interests you instead.

Is there anyone who got 65-70 marks in the GATE mechanical (general/OBC) and got NITIE Mumbai?

NS
Nagaraj Sinha Posted On : August 18th, 2021
PG Diploma Manufacturing Management, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2020)

In order to get into NITIE, you should have to clear the GATE cut-off for that year.

The GATE cutoff generally remains around 729-760 for the General category and 420 to 550 for the reserved categories. NITIE recently released their GATE cutoff for 2021, which is as follows.

Category  GATE Cutoff
General  609
OBC 473
SC 345
ST  317
Physically disabled  473

After that, you must prepare and ace the group discussion and interview, because they carry huge weightage. So, even if you have a low gate score or have just managed to clear the cut-off. You can get admission if you perform well in GD and PI. Similarly, students with a high gate score but low performance in GD and PI can get rejected.

So, be well prepared for all of it because you can get through with a balanced performance.

Will 10 backlogs during engineering affect my chances to get into NITIE Mumbai?

AR
Ahaana Raval Posted On : August 11th, 2021
Studied Mechanical Design Engineering at Centennial College, Toronto, Canada (2019)

During the interview session at NITIE Mumbai your previous academic records are seen by the interviewers. They will ask for the reason regarding your backlog. Whether it was a result of carelessness or there was some genuine reason.

They will check your basics and the flow of answering the question and they will also test your logical progress and aptitude. With an eligible score in the qualifying exam and in your degree, you can get into any program. The backlog won’t affect much if you have maintained a good graph for your result.

If in your previous academic records there is no backlog mentioned then there is no problem at all in case it is mentioned and in your case 10 backlogs they can choose to overlook as well as ask you about it. But the most important thing is, to tell the truth and also if you have a sufficient score then it won’t be a problem at all.

How good is to leave IIM Nagpur for colleges like NITIE after one year being a fresher?

PK
Parneet Kaur Posted On : January 30th, 2023
Works at NEC Corporation (Global Organization)

As an applicant to IIM Nagpur, you are in the best position to assess your prospects at the institute. If you are not confident in your ability to rank in the top 10% of the batch, you may have better prospects at NITIE. On the other hand, if you do not believe you will rank in the top 50% of the batch at NITIE, it may be more beneficial for you to continue at IIM Nagpur.

If you are not confident in your prospects at either institute, it may not make a significant difference which one you choose. Ultimately, the decision of which institute to attend will depend on your individual goals and priorities.

Yes, NITIE accepts applications from students from almost every branch of engineering. This is applicable for production and industrial engineering as well. You can apply for NITIE through GATE or CAT. However, going by the cutoff trends, you need to have tp AIR rank in GATE IPE to get admission at NITIE.

Here is the cutoff for NITIE.

Category PGDIM PGDISEM
General 97 86
OBC 65 75
SC 65 65

Will I be able to get placed with 95, 87, or 6.8 stats at NITIE Mumbai?

PK
Pushkar Katyal Posted On : August 12th, 2021
PGDIM Industrial Management, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2018)

Yes, of course. NITIE has a record of 100% placements and it will provide you with numerous opportunities to prove yourself and get placed. More importantly, it is your efforts that will matter the most to help in achieving your goals. Wait for your chance, understand what the company expects of you, and if you're the right fit, you'll be fine.

Here are some recent placement stats:

Particulars NITIE Mumbai
Placement rate 100%
Top recruiters Amazon, Asian paints, Axis Bank, Cap Gemini, Coca-Cola, Kotak Mahindra Bank, KPMG, Exide, and E&Y.
Total recruiters 127
Average salary package 20 LPA
Highest salary package 44 LPA

My brother, too, had a similar profile but was placed in good company. It's just that you'll get fewer shortlists than others. You must convert it using GD-PI. Work hard to improve your skills.

Is experience in marketing & sales a plus point for getting admission in NITIE Mumbai?

SS
Swagat Sharma Posted On : August 12th, 2021
PGDIE from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2017)

If you believe it will give you an advantage over someone with work experience in the core industry, IT sector, or any other sector, then yes but it will not be easy.

Your work experience will be beneficial to you because marketing profiles have historically been offered to a smaller number of students at NITIE.

Typically, three scenarios exist which are as follows:

  • Students complete a marketing internship before obtaining a PPO.
  • Students compete in marketing-related competitions to be considered for a placement interview.
  • During placements, freshers frequently choose marketing positions.

A professor at NITIE while evaluating you would like to know your learnings and contributions that you were able to make during your work experience. It may give you an advantage if you want to pursue a career in Sales and Marketing only after graduating from NITIE. Everyone with work experience is evaluated using the same criteria.

Work experience is nowhere mentioned, but most companies choose candidates who have good experience in required fields.
