Which is better - the IIT in Mandi or MNNIT?

Is it worthwhile doing an FPM course at the IIM in Rohtak
The answer to this question is subjective as it depends solely on your career inclinations, your purpose of pursuing FPM, and what you plan to do after it. It is best suitable
- If you want to pursue research in management
- If you want to enter academics and pursue a career in teaching/research faculty
For the above two cases, the FPM course is the best option. Despite being a new course, it is taught by the best faculty and through excellent pedagogy. This course equals a Ph.D. and can open doors to teaching at IIMs. The job is decent with high pay. All you need to do is invest your time and effort in the course.
The only drawback of this course is that there are no placement opportunities for FPM students.

How can I visit IIM/XLRI/FMS during my MBA Preparation phase to interact with Prof and students?
You can visit IIMs if you have any mutual friends on the campus. Another way is through events where you can join and get an opportunity to interact with the students and professors.
Following are some examples of events held at IIMA and IIMB where you can easily interact with both faculty and students:
Events at IIM Ahmedabad
- Insight: A campus walk is organized during the last weeks of September. You can interact with the students but professors won’t be available.
- Gandhi Jayanti week: You get to meet students and professors both.
Events at IIM Bangalore
- Annual Business Summit: It is usually organized in September.
- Annual Entrepreneurship Summit: It is typically held in Late July/ Early August.
- One day at IIMB: It is an annual fundraising event arranged when the students celebrate 'Joy of Giving Week'. This provides an opportunity to experience one day at IIMB.
The other way is by attending prep talk sessions held at XLRI and IIMs before CAT and XAT. You can also visit numerous conventions/seminars in XLRI to get in touch with the faculty members etc directly.

Is math compulsory for IPM IIM Indore?
No, maths is not a compulsory subject to be a part of the IPM program. You are eligible to apply for the IPM program even if you are from a non-math background.
But the program includes multiple maths and statistics courses in the first 3 years that require a good hold of class 11th and 12th grades’ maths.
In the introductory two terms, Differential and Integral calculus is taught by maths faculty, so it should not be difficult. However, if you are not from a Maths background, then you may have a tough time coping with the multiple subjects. Maths and Statistics courses have a high weightage in the first two years and if not handled well, can pull down your overall grade.
But I know a lot of people from IIM Indore with a non-math background, doing well in academics. If you work hard you can have good academic records too, even if you don’t like Maths.
Can someone crack the IIM Indore IPM exam without having maths in 12th standard?
Yes, it is possible to crack the IPM exam at IIM Indore without maths in 12th grade. A non-math student can apply for IPM at IIM Indore. However, it can be difficult for a student without a Maths background to clear the paper as the question paper is loaded with Higher Maths - Questions from Class 11th and 12th Math section.
Past Year Paper analysis suggests that even the basic maths questions (till class 10th) are of higher difficulty level. So, it won't be easy, but it’s not impossible.
With hard work, proper preparation, and practice you can clear IPM. But the IPM course also has mathematics studies. It includes courses of pure maths, statistics, economics often driven by maths, etc.
IPM from IIM Rohtak can be an alternative to IPM from IIM Indore, as the paper is much easier and the difficulty level of Maths questions is also manageable.
What is the procedure to clear back subjects? I’m in MAIT and I got one in the first semester last year. Do I have to take the internal exams again?
The procedure to clear back subjects is really simple. You just have to pay a certain challan of Rs. 600 per subject for each SEM you want to retake. Submit an application with the challan receipt and the exam code would appear on your admit card.
Moreover, you don’t have to appear for any kind of internal exams again. You just pay a certain challan for retaking the exam and that’s it.
