While many may not agree, the new IIMs are far better than NMIMS. People prefer NMIMS mainly because of its location and legacy. If you come out of that criteria then you realize that the new IIMs are much more. I have compared the new IIMs with NMIMS on the basis of a few aspects.
So the new IIMs are far better in terms of brand, faculty, and even ROI.
Both the colleges ISBF Delhi and NMIMS Mumbai offer a decent Economic Honors program. I have drawn a detailed comparison between the two on the basis of the following parameters
Worth of the Degree: NMIMS might be a reputed college but its degree cannot be compared to that of ISBF which offers a University of London degree in addition to academic assistance from London School of Economics and Political Science, the top-ranked institute in Economics.
Curriculum: Economics is vast and covers a very broad spectrum of subjects from development and finance to international trade. Now the University of London excellently allows the students to choose 6 electives of their choice in addition to 6 compulsory subjects. This ensures that the students get a job in the sector they are passionate about. This flexibility of curriculum lacks on the part of NMIMS.
Prospects: A DU student applying to top institutions in the UK for a master, is required to complete a diploma year before starting with his master's. This aims to compensate for the difference in the standard of education. However, anyone with a University of London degree can directly apply for a Master in top universities in the UK.
Batch size: The batch size at ISBF is relatively smaller than that of NMIMS. This aids in better student-teacher interaction and class discussions. This in turn helps in better delivery of the curriculum.
So in almost all aspects, ISBF is a better choice than NMIMS.
NMIMS may have deteriorated over the last few years but it still is considered one of the top 10 B Schools in the country. It is still preferred by many owing to various factors like location, industry exposure, placements, and peer learning.
Pros
Cons
The increasing batch size has become a major issue thereby reducing the overall quality of education and placements.
When it comes to choosing a business school, the competition is fierce and the options can be overwhelming. Three institutes that are considered to be among the top in the country are the Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) at IIT Kharagpur, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi, and the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
If you are interested in an operations profile, then VGSOM is a great choice. It is considered to be one of the best institutes in the country for operations specialization, after NITIE. Additionally, the return on investment (ROI) is high. IIM Ranchi, on the other hand, may have a lower average package compared to the other two institutes, but it has the prestige of the IIM tag and a decent profile. The hostels are also fabulous, with single rooms available for students.
NMIMS is considered to be more costly and the batch strength is over 500 students. The top 150-200 students get superb packages and roles that are at par with other top B-schools, however, the next lot of students may have a lot of start-ups, etc. If you want to play safe, VGSOM or IIM Ranchi might be the best option.
However, if you are willing to take a risk, NMIMS might be a good choice as the profiles there are really good. It's ultimately up to you to decide which institute aligns best with your career goals and objectives. Rest assured, whichever institute you choose, you will be choosing a great institution as all three are among the top institutes in the country.

Recommendations on joining an IIM:
For individuals who come from top tier engineering colleges (such as IITs or BITs) and have a salary of more than INR 10 lakh per year in the tech sector:
For individuals who are not from top colleges and have a salary of less than INR 5-6 lakh per year:
For individuals who come from top tier engineering colleges and have made poor decisions in their lives:
For entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs:
When it comes to financing roles, NMIMS is generally seen as being on par with or even better than IIFT. One advantage of NMIMS is its location in Mumbai, which can be beneficial for students seeking finance roles. A decent number of finance companies visit the campus during placements, offering a good range of opportunities for students. However, it's worth noting that the competition for these roles can be quite intense, especially for students with engineering backgrounds. This is because finance companies often have a tendency to shortlist more students with commerce backgrounds for interviews.
That being said, if you are able to clear one or two levels of the CFA or FRM exams, it can become easier to get shortlisted for finance roles at NMIMS. Overall, when it comes to financing roles, NMIMS is generally seen as being on par with IIFT and better than the new IIMs.
IIM Rohtak is better if you want to join IPM there and graduate with a BBA after three years.
A BBA from IIM Rohtak is unquestionably more valuable than a BBA from NMIMS, Mumbai because the course curriculum and pedagogy are superior at IIMs, which use a trimester system rather than the traditional semester system used at NMIMS.
The placements will be similar between the two. However, NMIMS wins because, with only a BBA, you'd have to apply off-campus if you wanted to be placed at IIM Rohtak, as there are no placements for BBA students.
Keeping everything in mind, you should prioritize IIM Rohtak over NMIMS because of the IIM brand and because it is a less expensive option. At the end of the day, you still have the option of pursuing an MBA at IIM Rohtak, which you do not have at NMIMS, and CAT can be quite unpredictable and difficult.
My friend was in a similar dilemma a few years ago. She had offers from NMIMS, SIBM and IIM Nagpur. She wasn’t sure if choosing a new IIM over these B Schools would be a wise decision. Yet she chose Nagpur in the end. Some major reasons that led her to choose it were
Based on the above parameters you have to make a decision according to your preferences. My friend was glad she chose IIM Nagpur and it helped her uplift her career through various opportunities.
