The journey can be divided into three phases: Realization, Launchpad, and Accomplishment.

During the first few months, you will have realizations about the challenges of college life, such as average quality food and poor facilities. Do the classrooms at IIT Bombay have ACs?

PG
Pratik Gandhi Posted On : March 20th, 2023
B.Tech. CSE, IIT Bombay

IIT Bombay has top-notch facilities including Air Conditioned classrooms decked with necessary amenities.

There is a classroom in the Lecture Hall Complex that is huge enough to accommodate 300 students. The complex has 3 such classrooms and 4 others that have a capacity of 200. In addition to this, there are tutorial rooms that can accommodate 40 students. All these rooms are air-conditioned.

The lecture halls of freshers are also huge since the number of students is more than usual. These rooms also have a centralized AC system.

However, right after the first year, students are divided into various departments and the total strength decreases. The lectures are then held above complexes or the department building.

  • Electrical Department: The lectures in this department are held in classrooms of the GG (Girish Gaitonde) building which lacks Air Conditioned classrooms except for two.
  • Computer Science: The lectures of this department are mostly held in classrooms of the KRESIT building which has Air Conditioned classrooms.

Leaving some, most classrooms at IIT Bombay have ACs.

What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Mithibai College?

SP
Shagun Pednekar Posted On : January 14th, 2022
B.Sc. Computer Science, Mithibai College (2021)

You as a student of Mithibai College Mumbai should keep an open mind and expect a tremendous change if you are coming from any other state. Life in Mithibai is easy but it will take some time to blend in.

  • Mumbai stereotypes mostly do not hold true about Mithibai.
  • People here are not arrogant but welcoming and accepting enough.
  • The college is in Juhu which is an upper class neighborhood, but is bordered by Andheri and Vile Parle so there is a diverse student crowd.
  • Being a part of the college, it is suggested that you take part in the fests and cultural activities.
  • It would help you to get to know your college and their students better.
  • Mithibai is a strict college consisting of studious and competitive people, so you have to study hard to keep up with others.
  • Scoring good marks is easy, if you concentrate on your studies from the beginning of the classes and not just prepare a couple of days before the examination.
  • Visit the canteen and explore the campus after lectures are over to mix up with people.

Nearby places around Mithibai are also happening and full of energy, explore the neighborhood as there is a lot of scope for hangouts and clubbing.

Which has a beautiful campus, DTU NSIT or IIITD?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : August 23rd, 2023
lives in New Delhi

As a student of DTU, I can tell you about its campus. Once you enter DTU, you will be mesmerized by its beauty. It has a lush green campus with beautiful blossoms. Apart from the natural beauty of this place, the classrooms, labs, canteen area, and shops are in good condition as well. During the rainy season, the surroundings become even more captivating. Students try quite hard to get admission into DTU and NSUT Delhi because of their amazing campus life. My friend tried really hard to get admission into DTU.

Thus, DTU has a beautiful vibrant campus and its students share a common opinion in this respect. NSUT Delhi and IIITD are good colleges as well. You should talk to their alumni to find out more about them.

How is IET Lucknow in terms of campus facilities?

UG
Utsav Ghose Posted On : August 5th, 2021
Civil Engineering from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow

IET Lucknow is a pretty old college. As it is quite old you cannot expect the infrastructure to be in a good state even though there is lots of maintenance. My sister used to be a student of IET and here is some of her insight on the institute.

  • The infrastructure of the campus is very old.
  • The classrooms are not as good as they should be. There are fans in the classroom but not many are in working conditions. Overall the infrastructure is fine but not as attractive as a good private college or any IIT/NIT.
  • Hostels are very good for 1st and 2nd year and have some sports facilities too. All mess has AC and the food they serve are better than most other colleges.
  • The hostel life is good although there is some restriction for girls as you cannot go out after 8 pm. But things are changing and I hope you will have a better experience.
  • In IET you will get a lot of exposure through various clubs like EXCELSIOR the literary club, Abhivyakti-the magazine team, IET Whiteboard- Media team, IET Josh - the drama team, and many others.

Though IET is an old college, it is Government College and cost-effective. The one who doesn’t get into IITs or NIT’s for some reason can join IET. ECE and CSE are most reputed in IET.

How is the life of a first year student at KMC Manipal, and what are some of the things one should be aware of there?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 28th, 2023

The life of a first-year student at KMC Manipal is quite hectic but it teaches you to maintain a healthy balance between studies and other co-curriculars. You will spend the initial days socializing yourself with your batchmates and adjusting yourself to the surroundings. You will familiarize yourself with the pedagogy and also identify the study methods that suit you. Students hang out with their like-minded people. and also pursue their nonacademic interests. Being your first time away from home, you might face some issues adjusting initially so here are some things you should always keep in your mind here

  • Always carry an umbrella because it’s raining all the time here.
  • Take care of your physical and mental health
  • Look for an activity that makes you happy, it can be as simple as taking walks around the campus partying, or anything else.
  • Make sure you priories academics over everything because in the end, only that matters

Hope this helps you!

How is college life and hostel life in Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai?

SS
Surya Swaminathan Posted On : June 14th, 2021
B.Tech from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India (2020)

Hostel life in Thiagarajar College of Engineering was a very liberating experience for my cousin who is an alumnus of this institute.

  • He became a more mature and confident individual in the hostel. His time management improved.
  • Apart from this valuable learning experience, there is wifi connectivity all over the premises of the campus.
  • The laboratory facilities are good and there is little to no restriction in the college.
  • The only rule is to have a minimum attendance of 75%.
  • Most of the teaching staff are alumni of IIT-M and NIT in Tamil Nadu.
  • Since the institute is away from the city, the atmosphere of the place is peaceful.

You can surf the internet and attend online lectures in the computer centre in the institute. The institute has become an SOP or Single Point of Contract with all the IITs which will help you in achieving online certificates which can be instrumental in getting placements. Placements are above 90% in the institute.

  • Every Wednesday is a day kept aside for extra-curricular activities.
  • Students participating in the NSS and NCC compete for awards like the Anna University Awards every year.
  • There is a stadium for practicing sports and a gym for the students.
  • There are also clubs in the college like the yoga club, fine arts club, visual club, short film club, and so on.
  • There are clubs related to academics as well like the ACM, energy club, robotics club, IEEE club, IE club, etc.

There are some rules in the hostels like the students must return by 9:30 PM. On weekends, students are allowed to roam around Madurai.
