People usually have two opinions regarding MBA admissions. First, the admissions have little to do with numbers, second, CGPA and numbers are extremely crucial. My answer is here to support the second opinion and she’s light on the importance of CGPA.
Don’t decide on your next degree hastily before even completing the first one. You may want to explore more interests before deciding what you want to finally choose. Most people in IIT commit the grave mistake of not focusing on their Academics because they think that the ECE or IT sector is not their cup of tea. They forget that they are among the best computer science minds right now and do not make the best use of this opportunity. Identifying the opportunities offered by the institute is a crucial step before deciding on your future career. Even if after enough reflection you realize that the IT sector is not for you, you may explore other options.
Recently many alumni of IIIT Hyderabad have joined as graduates of IIMs after gaining work experience. But almost every alumnus I have looked up had an excellent CGPA, nothing less than 8.5.
So CGPA is not the only factor but is one of the most important factors during admissions at IIMs. One can get into an IIM even with an average CGPA but having a good CGPA will increase the plethora of opportunities definitely.
One of my friends studied at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. According to her, the admission is usually first come first serve for science but, you need to have more than 75% in your individual subjects in class 12th.
But since this pandemic everything was done online, let me take you through the process.
Do not miss out on the opportunity as it is a really good college and will provide you with enough exposure.
One of my close friends applied for the lateral entry program at IIIT Hyderabad in 2018 and shared the experience of the entire process. Her examination center had students from Raipur and Bhilai regions. The total number of students in the hall was 70.
On average, there were 50 centers, and considering each center had 100 students, the total number of students who appeared for the IIIT Hyderabad Lateral Entry Programme was around 5000. In her examination center, only 45 students were shortlisted for interview, out of which only 37 students actually attended the interview.
The first step to get into IIM Indore for your PGP is to clear the CAT exam. As there’s already plenty of information online on how to clear the exam, I’ll be moving forward to the next steps.
Once you get a call from IIM Indore, the next step is GD and PI. The GD round is all about speaking. But do not make the mistake of speaking useless things. Instead, make just 2-3 points that are logical and that take the discussion forward. Else, come up with something creative to support your opinion. For example, my friend got the topic- “Advertising: Noise Attracts Attention”. As soon as the floor was open for discussion, he made a loud thud with his foot. This attracted everyone’s attention towards him. In response, he just said- “Hence proved, noise attracts attention.” He cleared the round because of his out of the box response.
The personal interview is mainly a test of your confidence. Read general knowledge material and prepare at least one subject of your interest in depth. You’ll be asked questions on them. If you do not know a certain answer, be honest about it. You can add humor to the conversions, but do not use inappropriate jokes. You must across as a sensible gentleman.
These are a few tips to ace the GD PI round, which will ultimately lead you towards becoming a student at IIM Indore.
Without any second thoughts, go for UCMS. The academic ambiance is almost the same at both the colleges and both of them are highly reputed. Here are a few additional benefits of choosing UCMS over KGMU
Overall, both colleges have their strengths and weaknesses so choose wisely!
You can be sponsored only by the organizations mentioned in the sponsorship list. Moreover, being a Christian is not enough and even Catholics are treated equally to non-Christians when applying. From what I know, CMC is run by a group of churches and if you apply via one of these, you have a good chance of getting sponsored.
The truth is these are just formal guidelines and to be sponsored all you need is genuine passion to serve the community. If you are passionate about social service your grades and even religion won't be a hindrance in your path. I have seen many exceptional cases, so what stops you from becoming one?
You do not have to give WBJEE to take admission to UEM Kolkata. You can get admission to UEM Kolkata through the IEMJEE entrance examination but UEM Kolkata does not take students from WBJEE counseling.
You can also try for admission through WBJEE and JEE Main ranks. In that case, you need to talk to the admission office of UEM. You can not get admission in UEM through WBJEE or JEE Main counseling.
UEM Kolkata is ranked as one of the best engineering institutes because of its highly qualified faculty, sprawling infrastructure, and top-class education with international exposure.
One of my friends was a dropper and managed to crack AIIMS. When asked about his strategy, he told everyone that he would perform the self-introspection exercise. In this, he would take his NCERTs and open the index.
Point out every chapter and rate your knowledge out of 5 in each topic. Rate yourself honestly to determine your strengths and weaknesses. Perform the same exercise for every subject and you will realize how much you lagged behind. This will also instill in you a desire to study hard and overcome your weak points. Study at least one chapter you are weak at thoroughly every week. Soon those chapters will become your favourite.
So, self-analysis is the key!

For someone who is a fresher and also from a non engineering background, it might be a difficult task to convert a call from TAPMI but it is not impossible. He/she will have to compete with people with experience or a technical background. He/she should be expecting more questions on academic record, personal skills, and strengths.
Below are some general suggestions;
