What about the placements and packages of those students who get admission in NITIE Mumbai through GATE? What are the cutoff marks through GATE?

LC

PGDPM from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

According to my friends studying at NITIE Mumbai, it is a decent college that provides its students with tremendous opportunities in placement. For all the courses (3 courses offered) that are offered, the students have nearly 100% placements. The packages were at par with the IITs and a handful of IIMs as well.

Categories NITIE
Course Fee  14.63 lakhs
Highest CTC 25 LPA
Average CTC 12-16 LPA
Recruiting Companies American Express, KPMG, Dell, Deloitte, etc.

The GATE score cutoff for the general category is expected to be around 700-750. Since the admission process is not transparent, the marks on the basis of which the candidates are given admission is not disclosed. The expected score is rather an assumption made out of experiences of those candidates who secured scores around 700-750.

What are my chances of getting into NITIE PGDIE?

AG
Ashmita Goel Posted On : August 13th, 2021
PGDPM from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2018)

My brother used to be a student of NITIE Mumbai, so I think I can give you some information regarding their admission process.

  • First, you need to crack the GATE cut-offs for admission. As per the past year, the required GATE cutoff ranges between 650-700. However, the cut-offs are uncertain as it depends upon the number of applicants.
  • Once shortlisted, you will have to appear for the GD-PI process. The Personal Interview is on a profile basis. You have to do well in PI, in order to get selected.
  • After the above round, a final merit list is prepared based on composite scores in GATE, GD-PI, relevant work experience, and academics. The academics also have a significant weightage which usually remains undisclosed.

Hope this gives you the overall idea about admission at NITIE.

Do people opt for a PGDIM at NITIE Mumbai even after doing an MTech?

AM
Ahaana Malhotra Posted On : August 11th, 2021
PGDIM Industrial Management, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2018)

If you are asking from a technical point of view, you will not face any issues for doing PGDIM from NITIE once you have completed your M.Tech.

But, in the future, you might be asked during an interview as to why you have pursued a management degree after completing your master’s in a core field. Be prepared to give a convincing answer.

If you are thinking of joining the industry and then doing a management degree makes sense. It would definitely help you scale up your current job prospects. But, if you are pursuing this degree without any industry experience, it might come off as a little haphazard, like you are jumping from one degree to another. This might confuse your recruiter a little if your final goal is to bag placement in a decent company.

You can go ahead but think of a good reason as to why you want to pursue this to ensure that you get placed in your future and don’t face any problems.

What are the chances of getting into NITIE for an MBA with a decent score in the CAT? My 10th, 12th and undergrads are 85.12, 61.5, and 60%.

You have not specified your category and gender and confirming that bit may be tough. Following are some certain things you should need to know.

  • These parameters are as important as the CAT score for Indian B-schools, if not more.
  • For the worst-case scenario, I will assume you are a GEM (General Engineer Male), and answer according to the historical trends.
  • For PGDIM, by a decent score, you should mean 98.5 percentile with 92+ percentile in every section.
  • But mind you, you will have a hard time getting shortlisted for good companies during summers and final placements owing to your academics and it's the comparison with the rest of the batch.
  • The closing percentile for round 1 in the general category is 90 percentile.
  • For PGDISEM, by a decent score, you should mean 95.5+ percentile with 90+ percentile in every section.
  • Because of lesser competition in PGDISEM, you can have a fair chance of getting shortlisted in good companies for summers and final placements.
  • The closing percentile for round 1 in the general category is 90 percentile.

Apart from the decent scores, you will need to perform exceedingly well in GD and PI to secure admission at NITIE.

NITIE is not only at the same standards as the IITs but also better in few areas.

  1. Legacy: NITIE has a legacy of more than 50 yearsof creating leaders for the industry whether it is manufacturing or IT Service.
  2. Brand: NITIE has created a brand name for itself in these years and the industry is well aware of it. For every domain of Business, reputed companies visit the campus for the placement drive.

MY
Meghna Yadav Posted On : August 10th, 2021
Studied at Pune University (2019)

Once you get a valid score in CAT and you get a call from NITIE you can start preparing for the GD, PI and WAT process. If you are pretty confident about your score and which college you want to get admitted you can start prior to the result.

Now coming to your question about how to prepare for interview for PGDISEM:

  • First thing you need to know is your profile. This would encompass individual data, academic background, work experience and your hobbies.
  • Try to know laws and agencies working for sustainable earth. You should be able to convince the interview panelist.
  • Particular Terms and jargons like: Kyoto protocol, carbon trading, Greenhouse Gas, The Natural Step etc. should be properly accounted for.
  • Accept if you don't know a few questions. Interview panel may have professors who are consultants to leading MNCs and proponents in their field.

If you have any doubt, connect with your mentor assigned to assist you. I hope this answer will help you and any future aspirants of NITIE. Just give your best and be confident. Wear that smile of confidence and just hold your thoughts. You will definitely get admitted to NITIE. Good luck.

Is there any possibility that I can be selected for the NITIE with my qualifying marks in the GATE?

NS
Naina Singh Posted On : August 18th, 2021
PGDPM from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2018)

There are basically 2 steps for getting admission at NITIE.

First, you need to clear the GATE cut-off in order to get a call for the GD-PI round. The GATE cutoff depends on the GATE score and not the marks. The required GATE cutoff varies each year depending on the application pool. However, the cutoff stays generally around 650-700. Here is the GATE cutoff for 2021.

Category  GATE Cutoff
General  609
OBC 473
SC 345
ST  317
Physically disabled  473

Second, after you've received a call you will have to ace GD and PI.

So, if you want to get into any of the postgraduate PGDIE/PGDMM/PGDPM programs, you must build a very strong profile.

How should I develop a good profile in order to crack PGDIE from NITIE?

RS
Rishabh Saxena Posted On : August 10th, 2021
BBA from Sharda University, Noida (2019)

One of my friends cracked it last year. So I might be able to give you some information about it.

  • NITIE has successfully attracted the best talents and has always been in a student's top choices.
  • During the admissions process, NITIE questions candidates on a variety of parameters.
  • In my friend's case, he was asked a slew of questions about his engineering knowledge, summer internships, extracurricular activities, and hobbies, as well as the standard ones about why he wanted to attend NITIE.
  • Like in any other B-School, there is a stipend for every achievement of a candidate. The winner achieves a set score level.
  • I would say that excelling in one field is unlikely to get you through; knowledge of all fields is required to pass the test.
  • In order to pass the exams, you should be good in analytical and problem-solving skills, which typically come from good mathematics skills.
  • Communication skills are also an added advantage.

For your current studies, if you are using high-quality reading materials from top publishers, that should be sufficient. Aim high and you will succeed. Just keep working hard.

What is the admission procedure(selection procedure) for NITIE PGDIE program?

SK
Suhani Kumar Posted On : August 10th, 2021
Studied at University of Mumbai (2019)

According to my knowledge, the admission procedure is simple. There are some points you can keep in mind during the selection procedure.

Here are some of the basic points for the selection process of a candidate for PGDIM course at NITIE:

  • Candidates must have a BE/B.Tech degree with 60% from any branch from a recognized university.
  • They must have a valid CAT score.
  • If you are appearing for your final year, you are eligible to apply.
  • You will be shortlisted by your CAT score.
  • The shortlisted candidates have to sit for GD and PI in the NITIE Mumbai campus.

Remember one thing, present your best self, and if you are chosen, think wisely and then make any decision. Not only your GD and PI scores but also your class 10, 12 and graduation scores will also play an important role.

How much it will cost to do a MBA in operation at NITIE Mumbai, including the living cost for two years?

SA
Shreya Arora Posted On : August 11th, 2021
Studied MBA in Business Analytics at NITIE Mumbai (2018)

I can give you an idea about the cost of doing an MBA from NITIE as one of my friends is a student there. At present, the tuition fee for MBA is 11 lakhs for a period of 2 years.

Other than that, if you consider assuming Rs. 3500 as the average mess fees for a total of one month, then it sums up to Rs. 35,000 for a time period of 10 months (considering 2 months of vacation period).

The mess fee sums up to Rs. 80,000. The overall amount you might personally require can be 1 Lakh in a total of 2 years. Thus, it can possibly be around or over 13 Lakhs, if you go on to plan for a rather controlled cost vacation in NITIE.
