How is NIT Jalandhar CSE in all aspects: placement, package, accommodation, environment, etc.?

JJ
Jason Jose Posted On : January 4th, 2023
Living by Truth

When it comes to engineering placements, PEC ranks far higher than NIT Jalandhar. However, the branch is extremely important. Nowadays, if you major in CSE, you will earn significantly more than if you majored in Mechanical/Civil, for example. However, when comparing the same branches between PEC and NIT, PEC stands out.

According to recent media reports, the highest package offered during Punjab Engineering College placement in 2022 was INR 64.5 LPA to 7 students. In addition, the average package offered in 2022 was INR 13.5 LPA. The participating recruiters placed 509 college students in various sectors such as software, consulting, analytics, and so on. Apple, Microsoft, Arcesium, American Express, and JP Morgan & Co. were among the top recruiters for PEC Chandigarh 2022.

B.tech from SVKM's NMIMS (2019)

Having friends at NMIMS and also being a student there, I can mention it is a well-reputed engineering college. Popular for its faculty, NMIMS will certainly be a good choice for your career. Many professors have completed their PhDs and the HOD itself is an IITian.

There are certain things that make NMIMS stand out -

  • The infrastructure is very good. All the necessary facilities available and the classrooms and laboratories are well equipped.
  • The course curriculum is very good too and it gets updated regularly unlike Mumbai University.
  • The Curriculum keeps on updating, maintaining industry standards and demands.
  • NBA has also given accreditation to this college in B.Tech course which is very promising.

Categories

How is it to Study in Amity University?

AG
Ankur Garg Posted On : May 4th, 2021
Studied B.com (Hons.) from Amity University, graduated in 2020

Someone I know completed his honors in B.Com from Amity University. He has said that the infrastructure of the university is very good. Here are also few other things that you will get to experience at Amity.

  • In the case of faculty, some of the professors are indeed amazing. They do have an in-depth knowledge of what they are teaching.
  • Courses like Human Value Community Outreach (HVCO), Military Training Camp (MTC), and various other Non -Teaching Credit Courses (NTCC) help the students a lot in learning as well as giving them a new point of view.
  • The campus is great with various canteens, spots complex, libraries, gym.
  • Every academic year, various events and fests are organized properly.
  • There is no ragging whatsoever in the university. It is strictly prohibited. The university has an updated library, classrooms, gym, sports complex, etc.
  • Students who have scored more than 90% in their 10 (+2) exams are granted scholarships. All the events, including the freshers, are held in a lively manner throughout the sessions.

However, as it is a private institute, the fees of Amity can be a bit high and the Foreign Business Language (FBL) which is mandatory for the students can be a burden for them.

How is FMS Delhi better than the IIMs?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : May 30th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

This is known as the "Clash of the Titans." At one end, there is India's leading chain of top B-schools (there are 20 in total), and the opponent attempting to oppose them is the Faculty of Management Studies, New Delhi, which is renowned as the B-school with the highest ROI in India.

Round 1 Procedures for Selection Comparison

IIMs require a high CAT percentile (excellent meaning 99-100) as well as at least 80% in 10th and 12th grades. Your graduation grade should be exhilarating as well.

The subsequent rounds are also available once you have passed the CAT with the required percentile. WAT (Writing Ability Test) and PI (Personal Interview) are the two rounds. Your leadership experience is critical in the PI round.

Once you seek admission to FMS, it is no less brutal than IIMs. The basic qualifying condition in their selection process is also a CAT score with an excellent percentile. Though their academic qualification eligibility standards appear to be wide, they genuinely evaluate only those with outstanding academic records.

Candidates who are shortlisted based on their CAT scores and academic records will be required to go through additional rounds of GD, PI, and Extempore.

Both opponents receive the same score here.

Round 2 Comparison of Professors

IIMs: IIMs, particularly the top tier ones, have some very outstanding minds from around the world to teach management learning at its best. They are a diverse group of veteran and young academics that value interactive sessions.

FMS: It has no envy for the professors on board at IIMs because they also have brilliant academicians on their boards. Click the Faculty Directory to view their faculty member's individual profiles. Not all IIMs are represented by the 20 links. So don't consider sharing the FMS faculty page link to be a biased decision.

The scores stay unchanged, i.e. equal.

Round 3 Scenarios of Placement Comparison

IIMs: It's time to look at some statistics about the placement situation at IIMs in 2023. It will assist you in comprehending the scene.

  • An IIM A student received a hefty international package worth $140,599.
  • At IIM Indore Placement 2023, the highest domestic package of INR 1.14 Crore Per Annum was offered. It was the highest score achieved by any IIM.
  • The lowest package was INR 8 LPA at IIM Rohtak.

I assure you that the FMS placement scenario will not allow IIMs to seize the lead. Let us now look ahead to their 2019 placements.

  • At FMS Placements 2023, the top domestic package is INR 1.23 Crore Per Annum.
  • The average CTC of FMS, Delhi in 2023 is INR 34.1 LPA, which is higher than the previous year.
  • At FMS, Delhi, the lowest package recorded is INR 11 LPA.

This round gave FMS a tiny advantage over IIMs. However, it was not a compelling one, thus we shall proceed to Round 4 as a tie-breaker.

Round 4 Fee Schedule

  • IIM Ahmedabad- Rs. 30 lakh
  • IIM Bangalore- Rs. 24.5 lakh
  • IIM Calcutta- Rs. 31 lakh
  • IIM Lucknow- Rs. 19.23 lakh
  • IIM Kozhikode- Rs. 22.5 lakh
  • IIM Indore- Rs. 21 lakh
  • IIM Trichy- Rs. 19.5 lakh
  • IIM Amritsar- Rs. 16 lakh
  • IIM Rohtak- Rs. 18 lakh
  • IIM Bodhgaya- Rs. 16 lakh

FMS- 1.92 Lakh

Even if you are put at a top-tier organization, there is no need to take out a loan and bear the load. The whole MBA price at FMS is cheaper than the income of ten days that you will receive after completing your MBA here.

In this round, FMS defeated IIMs and became victorious. So, FMS Delhi is always a better option than IIMs.

Which is better, ISB Hyderabad or IIM Ahmedabad for 1 year executive MBA?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : September 15th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

ISB Hyderabad is certainly a better choice than IIM Ahmedabad for a 1 year MBA executive. It has better faculty, an international student profile, an amazing campus, and more than 800 students in a single batch. The admission process is also simpler than IIM Ahmedabad. ISB Hyderabad has a much more diverse crowd than IIM Ahmedabad which usually comprises CS-related people.

PGP-X at IIMA is its flagship program whereas the one-year program in ISB is their main program so it carries more value and more focus is given to that program.

IIM Ahmedabad too has its own perks one of them being its rich legacy of 50+ years and an excellent alumni enterprise spread across the globe. Also, since the batch is smaller the competition is less so the placement opportunities are more. Recruiters coming to hire PGP students also roll out lateral offers for PGP-X students.

Ultimately, choose the one that aligns with your personal preferences and future goals.

What do you think about current NICMAR placements? Has NICMAR lost its credibility or it shows market scenario?

MS
Muskan Sharma Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Construction Management and Research

NICMAR, keep in mind that you have never been known to add a lot of value to students interested in core construction. My brother is a NICMAR graduate, and yes, it helps because there is no other institute from which the construction industry can recruit students.

NICMARians can work in non-core construction jobs, but never in Core Construction. Furthermore, they have a serious attitude problem because construction does not always go as planned.

Spending Rs 13 Lakhs in this market is not a good investment. As the average CTC offered at the institute is 6 LPA, according to the recent placement highlights.

In terms of student content, NICMAR has never had a lot of credibility. Yes, it is a good filtering process, and thus companies use NICMAR because it allows them to choose from a pre-filtered lot.

How good is Indraprastha College of DU in reality?

SS
Sanjana Singh Posted On : October 10th, 2022
Studied at Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi

Seeing hundreds of girls daily can be overwhelming if you attend a co-ed school. But you'll get used to it. Despite its proximity to North Campus, it is no less than an off-campus college. The typical North campus atmosphere is missing. However, Kamla Nagar and GTB Nagar are only a few minutes away by autorickshaw.

The college canteen is not that good. It's vegetarian, and the menu isn't particularly appealing. The chole kulche and chaats available outside the college are tasty. Rolls Club, located near the metro station, serves delicious Chilli chicken rolls.

The professors, like all other DU colleges, are uninvolved concerning what you do outside of class. However, keep your attendance above 40%, at all costs. There are no language restrictions. If you don't understand something in English, teachers are willing to teach you again in Hindi. Most professors, at least.

In a semester, each paper has only two exams. There are no class tests otherwise.

There is no AC, only fans. You can go to the library for AC during your free period. The library is phenomenal for a government college. It has three floors with a lift and an online system to determine where books are kept. There is an ICT lab with internet access.

You must make your own college life enjoyable. You will meet many incredible women who will inspire you with their grace, intelligence, courage, speaking abilities, and pure hearts.

Priyanka Roy Posted On : October 21st, 2021
S-MS from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata (2020)

I have a few friends from IISER, and according to theM, life at IISER is quite interesting.

  • The academics at IISER is great. You can pursue anything that you are interested in.
  • The environment at the campus is great. It’s useful for research and other activities.
  • You will find many like-minded people on campus. You should not pick one but be a part of many and work together as a team player. At some point in your life, these skills would be required.
  • There are also a plethora of extracurricular activities that you can take part in.

You may face problems at the beginning that are quite common and will be a part of your learning curve.

Can someone share his/her NMIMS interview experience?

SM
Subhashree Mukharjee Posted On : January 25th, 2022
MBA, SVKM's NMIMS (2017-19)

One of my friends appeared in the NMIMS interview a few years back. Here is his experience in brief.

  • His case study topic was related to the competition between Patanjali and Hindustan United Ltd. 5 mins was given for reading the topic and 15 mins were given for discussion. After 12 mins of discussion, the students were informed that they had only 3 mins left. The group consisted of 12 students and there was 3 panelist. Every student had assigned chair numbers for case discussion and no changes were made in sitting arrangements afterward.
  • Within 5 mins of completing the case study, he was informed to prepare for the personal interview. The interview duration was 20-25 mins. The interview was taken by 3 panelists. First, he was asked to talk about himself for a bit. There were questions regarding his SOP, his academics, his interests, and Economics. They also asked why he wanted to pursue MBA and join NMIMS.
