How is NIT Jalandhar CSE in all aspects: placement, package, accommodation, environment, etc.?

Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NIT) ranks at 52nd position for Top Engineering colleges in India. The public institute is among the Top 10 NITs of India.

Computer Science and Engineering:

• Established in 1990, CSE is a specialization under the B.Tech and M.Tech degree offered by the college. The full-time Btech and MTech courses are for 8 semesters and 4 semesters respectively.

• There are 8 laboratories namely Project Lab, Computer Programming, Research, Information & Security laboratory, etc.

• The department library of CSE is well-equipped with over 115653 books, 22 Journals as well as 2893 eBooks.

Admissions:

Admission to BTech and MATech programs is through JEE Main and GATE exams.

• The overall tuition fees for BTech and MTech programs are 3.52 lakh and 1.21 lakh.

• The JEE Main closing cut-off for CSE in 2019 was 5378 -10800 (Home State), 7199-9667 (Other States).

• The GATE closing cutoff was 463.

Placements:

• Infosys, OYO Rooms, Oracle, Whirlpool, Nestle, Paytm, Tata Motors, BOSCH, Samsung, Hitachi, Amazon.in, L&T Technologies Microsoft, Vedanta, etc are prominent companies visiting the NIT Jalandhar campus.

• In CSE, out of 84 eligible students, 79 of them were placed. They received 94 job offers in total.

• The highest package of 2019 placement was received by 4 students of the Computer Science department, around INR 39.12 LPA by Adobe and Microsoft.

• CSE’s average package is around INR 13.12 LPA.

• The placement rate of the department is 94.05%.

Accommodation & Environment:

There are 10 boy’s hostels and 3 girl’s hostels on the campus with ample facilities such as a reading area, indoor lounge, washing machines, etc. The campus also has a Guest House, Post Office, 2 Bank ATMs, and a Dispensary with medical staff. Apart from the hostel mess, a canteen and a food joint are situated across the campus.
