The two girls' hostels available at NIT Rourkela are C.V.Raman Hall of Residence and K.M.Shaw Hall of Residence. During your admission into NIT Rourkela, you will be allotted one of these two hostels.
C.V. Raman Hall of Residence-
Kiran Majumdar Shaw Hall of Residence-
The girls hostels at NIT Rourkela are not the best, however, they are quite decent. The best part is that you will enjoy your time over there and make endless memories.
My senior from school who used to be a student of Amity University told me that attending 9 to 5 classes all week did get tiring for her. No matter how urgent your work is, you will not be allowed to leave the grounds of the college until and unless you acquire an out-pass. It has to be duly signed by the warden with a valid date. It would invite trouble if you try to outsmart the warden. The girl students are not allowed to leave the campus just like that for security reasons.
For the boys, it’s easier to leave the campus if they share a good rapport with their mentors. Availability of swipe-in and out cards allows the students the premises of the institute at any time but they have to be back by 7-8 PM.
You will have to let the warden talk to your parents if you wish to get a night-out pass. A night-out pass can only be obtained through a notice made a day prior. That includes regular day-outs as well. On working days, the timing for going out is strictly the university hours. The timing for going out of the campus on weekends and holidays is from 5 PM to 9 PM.

Calling the IIM Vishakhapatnam’s hostel the best is literally not an understatement. It’s the world-class amenities combined with the serene surroundings that make it seem like a resort-like experience. One of my friends was a PGP student at Vizag and stayed at a beach-facing hostel. The sunrise and sunset views from the balcony and terrace make it seem like you are in a hotel and make your hostel life really peaceful and more home-like. Apart from the spectacular views, other major facilities are
Overall IIM Vizag has excellent hostel facilities and if you are depressed or stressed about your academics you can take a break by just sitting on the balcony and taking in the breathtaking view.
Hostel allocation is handled by the University of Delhi, not FMS. There is only one significant dorm, VKRV Rao Hostel, where 30 seats are set aside annually for FMS and the remaining 30 for DSE.
For first-year FMS guys, there are 30 spots. The CAT score is used to determine the allocation. However, 15 spots are set out for international, ST, and SC students. For OBC, there is no reserve.
The D.S. Kothari Hostel, Jubilee Hall, and P.G. Men's Hostel are three further hostels that each have one to four beds available. Forms must be obtained from each hostel and filed before the deadline, which is often June 30 or thereabouts, in order to apply for the hostels.
The following are the benefits and drawbacks of not having a hostel at FMS, Delhi:
Pros:
Cons:
Thus, despite its pros and cons, it is a completely different experience that students should endure during their two wonderful years at FMS.
