One of my acquaintances has a better opinion on the same. He says that if you opt to take admission at IIIT Allahabad, then you are more likely to have better opportunities in the IT field.

• Mostly, the students of ECE are thoroughly engaged in coding and are known to study ECE because of reasons that center around only graduating.
• While, on the flip side, in VNIT Nagpur, the students pursue ECE because they are interested in it.
• However, the placements of IT field are more likely to surpass the number of placements seen in ECE fields. This is because the core hardware companies relatively do not share the same amount of trust with the freshers.
• If you want to obtain a better salary package after graduating from a B.Tech course, then going for IIIT, Allahabad can be a superior option.
• While, if you relevantly want to pursue your career in most of the core ECE companies, then it is suggested that you opt for VNIT, Nagpur.

However, in most cases, 10-15% of students choose ECE companies, but ever since software companies have become high-paying, several students tend to rather opt for an IT job profile.

Since my friend is an alumnus of IIIT Allahabad, she will be well suited to talk about the faculty of the institute.

All the teaching staff of IIIT Allahabad is Ph.D. holders from institutes that are reputed, for example, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, etc. Some of them have received their Ph.D. from institutes like the University of Reading, UK. So it goes without saying that the faculty members have expertise in their respective areas of teaching.

The teaching style of the faculty is the same as that of other institutes like the IITs and/or IISc. They teach during the class. If you have doubts, you can ask the faculty and they will be very happy to resolve the same. They are very supportive.

Don’t make faculty a major deciding factor for choosing an institute. Both IIIT Allahabad and MNNIT are reputed institutes in the field of IT.

If you are interested in programming, you can definitely go for IIIT Allahabad and IIIT Bangalore. According to my friends studying there, they both have an excellent coding culture.

The points below give a brief overview of the present coding culture of IIIT Bangalore, which will increase the level of interest for a programming geek in the institute.

• In IIIT Bangalore, there are two functional autonomous student bodies- Club for Algorithms Maths and Programming (CAMP) and Zense.
• The CAMP focuses on competitive coding, which is for participation in ACM ICPC, also known as the Olympics of programming.
• This club has been operational since 2017 and works under the esteemed guidance of instructors of Data Structure and Algorithms.
• IIIT Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Allahabad are the only IIITs who were successful in entering the world finals of ICPC.
• Zense focuses more on open source contribution and software development. It helps prepare for GSoC (Google Summer of Code) and RGSoC (Rails Girls Summer of Code), and also for other national and international level hackathons.
• Some of the hackathons that Zense students have succeeded in include Wipro Digital Hackathon, Civic Hackathonby Janaagraha Foundation, IIM Bangalore policy hackathon, etc.

Therefore, even being in a nascent stage, students from IIIT Bangalore enjoy the top-level programming culture and so, there are huge scopes for such geeks in the institute.

IIIT Allahabad and IIIT Hyderabad are some of the most reputed engineering colleges in India. However, it is difficult to choose between the two as the branches you have mentioned are different. To make a more precise decision, first, decide which branch you want to opt for.

I have a bunch of colleagues who have done their graduation from IIITA and IIITH and based on the brief interaction I had with them, here are some of the insights they have to share:

• If you have an interest in Computers, you should go with IT from IIIT Allahabad. Admission is not easy because IT is its most popular core branch.
• In case you don’t get admission to IIIT Allahabad, keep IIIT Hyderabad as a second option. Even though your branch is ECE, the coding culture there will give you an awesome start for your computer knowledge acquiring process.

If you get admitted to IIITA, satisfaction with your interest is guaranteed. If not, don’t feel you’ve settled for IIIT Hyderabad, as it is equally reputed and will fulfill your interest in computers.

JNTUH (Hyderabad) and JNTUK (Kakinada) are the local JNTUs that offers seats based on rank in TS Eamcet and AP Eamcet respectively while IIIT Allahabad is a Central Government Funded College that allocates seats based on rank achieved by the student in JEE Main.

• Nevertheless, JNTUH has got a good reputation among all the colleges present in Hyderabad.
• It is located in the heart of the city with all facilities available in a hand’s reach.
• IIIT Allahabad has a good college environment but lacks only in location factor.
• It is a better college when you compare college placement statistics.
• Any branch in IIITA is better when compared to JNTU. CSE in JNTUH is known for its faculty.

While IIITA leads in every aspect when compared to JNTUK. So IIIT Allahabad is the best option when compared to both of the JNTU’s.

For CS, DTU will be the better choice. Given below are the reasons for choosing DTU over the other institutes.

• The coding culture at DTU is very developed. Students from all the branches, be it CS or Engineering Physics believes that Coding is the ultimate future of engineering.
• DCECoders is the Codechef made by DTU students. It is the best place to learn coding on campus. 
• IEEE, ASME, CSI, and IET to smaller organizations put effort into the coding competition. From time to time, you will have coding competitions and classes on the campus.
• DTU has over 50 societies that need good coders. Where you can apply your coding knowledge to real-time work.
• Bening situated in the capital of the country, DTU offers good exposure and opportunities. Delhi-NCR is a hub for IT companies, you may be able to get a job in NCR.
• The institute has a rich legacy of over 75 years. It boasts of a strong alumni network. It has a brand value similar to that of old IITs.
• The campus is ragging free and seniors are quite helpful. The 85% Delhi quota at the institute brings affluent crowds of Delhi to the campus.
• The placement process is managed by talented students of the institute. The placement at the institute is great. Even though it is an engineering college the non-technical placement rate of the institute is impressive. 

Even if you realize after a few months of your course that engineering is not for you, you will still get to learn a lot from the campus culture.

The placement record for IIIT Allahabad is overall quite good. But if you are an M.Tech student looking for placements at IIIT Allahabad, that could prove to be a little difficult. A few companies do not allow M. Tech students to appear for placements.

However, looking at the placement statistics of the college, about 125 different companies come to visit IIIT Allahabad annually. Of these, maybe around 20 to 30 companies do not allow M.Tech students but this is manageable. However, around 10 to 15 companies only come to hire M. Tech students.
