How good is Delhi Technological University?
Good is a very generic term. Good in terms of what and which branch? Well, the answer to every criterion and branch is different. However, I have tried my best to cover the major parameters to determine the worth of DTU
- Brand Name: DTU has an average brand value and is only popular in Delhi NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and parts of UP. It is well known among engineering aspirants, and recruiters but is not as recognized as NITs and IITs.
- Infrastructure: DTU has a great infrastructure with a lush green campus and top-notch campus facilities. The library is well-stocked, the classrooms are decked with modern facilities and DTU also has great sports facilities.
- Hostels: The accommodation facilities are somewhat miserable here and some of the hostel buildings are in pathetic condition with damping seepages, falling plasters, and broken windows. The mess food is average and canteens also have a limited variety.
- Quality of Education: Academics is where DTU fails miserably. DTU has obsolete pedagogy and curriculum that is irrelevant to the recent trends in the industry. Most of the teachers have little interest in teaching and examinations are a joke here. Some exceptionally good teachers help you in writing research papers and securing internships.
- Crowd: The 2 major aspects that make DTU worth it is its good location and the quality of the crowd it attracts. You will find people with diverse ranks owing to the Delhi quota and the reservations. The huge diversity in the ranks brings a lot of personalities together.
- College Life: Life at DTU is very vibrant and dynamic with many ongoing activities and events conducted by societies, student teams, and extracurricular clubs which help the students pursue their passions.
- Placements: The placement scenario of DTU is great especially that of computer-related branches or circuit branches. However, branches like environmental engineering or biotech don’t have very good opportunities.
- Higher education: Every year DTU students get admitted to top graduate and MBA programs in reputed universities like Ivy League, MIT, UT Austin, University of Michigan, IIMs, XLRI, FMS, ISB.
How good DTU is, depends on what you are expecting from it!
What are the “year-back” criteria in AKTU?
At AKTU, the year-back criteria are pretty simple. You are likely to get a year back in any of the following situations:

If in a single year, you have back 6 subjects

If you score below 30 in 6 subjects in a year

If you fail any practical exam

If you do not appear for a practical exam

If you are accused of UFM or unfair means like cheating to pass an exam
Any of the above situations will result in a year back. Try to avoid this as much as possible because it will become very hectic for you.
How can I take admission in IET Lucknow in the 2nd year now that I am studying in IERT in the 1st year?
One of my cousins similarly wanted to secure a seat at IET Lucknow in the 2nd year itself. He mentions that for indeed taking admission in IET Lucknow in the 2nd year, you have to first complete your diploma, and following that, during the 3rd year, you are required to sit for the UPSEE LEET examination.
Depending on the basics of the score you attained in LEET, you can further go on to securing admission at IET Lucknow via lateral entry.

Which school should I choose, BITS Pilani Goa campus or IIT Gandhinagar?
There are the following points that you need to keep in mind while choosing between BITS Pilani Goa campus and IIT Gandhinagar:
- Choose your branch. When making this decision, it is crucial to consider what branch you want to pursue. Talk to people who have done CS or Electrical Engineering and gather information about both fields.
- Decide between IIT and BITS. BITS has a good alumni network, and its CS package is higher than IIT GN's Electrical Engineering package. However, IIT has a better brand value, especially if you plan to pursue higher education or move to the United States. If you want to go to the USA, choose IIT. If you plan to stay in India, BITS Goa is well recognized, and placements in CS are better at BITS than at IIT GN.
- Chill out! If you are undecided about your future plans or your choice of college, don't worry too much about it. Choose a place where you can enjoy your B.Tech life. If you want to have fun, BITS Goa is the better option as it is located in Goa.
Will BITS Pilani get an IIT status?
No, I don’t think BITS will ever get an IIT status. The IITs are no longer the statement because their brand value has been diminished owing to their increasing numbers. The reason why IITs gained fame in the first place was because of their exclusivity which has been hampered now.
BITS on the other hand will never choose to dilute its brand name as it stands high with the Birla brand. It has been maintaining its exclusivity and the IIT status will do no good to its reputation.
How good is the Machine Learning course at IIIT Bangalore?
The Machine Learning course by Upgrad and IIIT Bangalore extensively covers ML and AI. All the necessary topics, from Basic Mathematics and statistics to Deep Learning and Graphical Models, are included in this course.
It isn’t a certificate program, rather you’ll earn a PG diploma. Unlike other MOOCs, this course demands serious effort from participants. It is a year-long rigorous course. Mathematics, SQL, and Python are well-taught to lay a strong foundation. The professors are well-experienced, and frequent live sessions are conducted for doubt-solving.
Assignments are topic-relevant, and their submissions are taken seriously. The TAs are supportive. You’ll be assigned a mentor to help you with non-academic queries/issues. Frequent sessions are held with industry experts to equip students with information on the latest developments in the field.
The assignment timeline is very rigid, and modules are released only on Sundays. So working professionals may suffer some inconvenience with this course.
Is it worth doing a PGP HRM at IIM Indore?
IIM Indore PGP-HRM is a 2 years full-time residential program. Admission to the IIM Indore PGP-HRM course is granted on the basis of CAT Score, Personal Interview score, and the final selection process. Whether doing a PGP-HRM from IIM Indore is worth it or not depends on individual goals and preferences. Here is a table with some basic info regarding the program that might help you decide further.

Are AIIMS, PGIMER, and JIPMER overrated?
No, I don't think excellent medical colleges like AIIMS, PGIMER, and JIPMER are in any way overrated. They deserve the hype they receive. The patients consider JIPMER doctors as the human form of God. They trust them blindly and also respect them a lot.
Apart from the highly experienced and educated doctors, JIPMER has some amazing facilities. Most of the departments are well-established with highly qualified doctors. The best department of JIPMER is said to be Pediatrics with the best doctor pool.
As far as academics are concerned, the UG curriculum is well-organized. The students are taken to clinics regularly and are confident about their basic clinical skills. The best past us exposure to all sorts of cases from Male breast cancer to life-threatening emergencies and all kinds of surgeries and non-surgical cases. Recently JIPMER has started focusing on specialized surgeries in the Super Speciality departments.
The campus life is great and the hostel facilities are no less than 5-star hotels. Students are allotted single rooms and the campus is green and beautiful.
Considering everything, facilities, education, and campus life I feel JIPMER is not overrated at all.
How do I get my original Engineering Degree certificate from RGPV Bhopal? I Graduated in 2010 and I do not live in Bhopal or MP.
The following is the procedure for obtaining an original degree from the University via offline mode:

Download and print the main degree form from the RGPV website's download forms section.

Fill out this form completely.

Make photocopies of all of the semester's grade sheets.

Visit your college and have your form, as well as all photocopies of your mark sheets, attested by the principal or head of the institution.

Bring all of the above documents, as well as the original mark sheets, to the RGPV office near Bhopal airport.

Write an application to the RGPV registrar, explaining why you need your degree as soon as possible.

Get your challan of 250 from the Union Bank of India, which is located just behind the university's building on campus.

Submit your attested degree form, attested mark sheets for all semesters, application for an urgent degree requirement, and Rs. 250 challan on the first floor. They will collect all of your documents, give you a student copy of the challan, and direct you to the second floor, where you will be asked to return in a week.

Return to campus and go to room 501, show them your student copy of the challan, and ask for your degree; they will give you your degree. They then request that you go to the registrar's office and have your degree verified.

If you want to travel abroad, you must go to the Ballabh Bhavan (Higher Education Department) for verification.

They give you a form, which you must fill out and submit photocopies of your class 10th, 12th, and 8th-semester mark sheets, as well as a photocopy of your passport's first and last page and a photocopy of your original degree front and back.
After having your documents verified here, you must go to the HRD ministry in Delhi before traveling abroad for the same verification process.
Is SIBM Bangalore worth considering?
As a professional who was looking to give a push to his career, I had the same doubts regarding SIBM Bangalore when I made it to the first shortlist of every Symbiosis MBA college except for SIBM Pune.
I scored only 70 percentile in my CAT and 90 percentile in my CMAT which were not good enough scores to get me a seat in a Tier 1 or 2 college. Fortunately, my SNAP score (94 percentile) was good enough to get me a call from Symbiosis colleges, most of which were Tier 2 MBA colleges.
