How is the accomodation at NITIE for PGDIM students?
One of my cousins was a part of NITIE Mumbai and has a better outlook regarding the same. Here is what he has to say,
- NITIE Mumbai is equipped with a 16 storied hostel apartment for boys, commonly called the Taylor Hostel, and almost 8 to 10 equipped for the girls, mostly known as the Gilbreth Hostel.
- The girls’ hostel is quite old and outmoded.
- The rooms of the Gilbreth Hostel, however, are quite a bit more spacious than what is in the boys’ hostel.
- The hostel arrives with 27 rooms on every floor, with a twin sharing policy added.
- It comes with two beds, two tables and chairs, and two individual cupboards.
- The rooms are gigantic and completely airy.
- The view side of the institute’s hostel is beyond explanation as well. It overlooks the Vihar Lake on one side, while the Hiranandani Gardens on another.
- The food you can avail in two messes is commonly known as Sarabhai and Taylor hall. Mostly, the food quality remains constantly the same either way.
- The hostels also have table tennis courts, and mounted television sets as well.
These are what you should know before finally deciding anything.
What things are required in a hostel for a freshman at BIT, Mesra?
Things to carry to BIT Mesra hostel as a freshman are as follows.
- Even if you do not carry mattresses with you, there are high chances that you will be provided with a premium quality mattress at the hostel.
- Do not forget your ATM cards and it will be good if you carry a small amount of cash while you go there for the first time.
- Workshop Clothes, since the ones that you will probably get stitched with the tailors near your hostel, might not fit well.
- LAN Cable. The one that you will get near the college gate is usually of poor quality, so better to carry it by yourself.
- Laptop or desktop and other personal belongings.
- Programming Book. Carry at least a C programming book with yourself.
- English book by Wren and Martin. It will be really helpful during your first semester English paper.
- Maggie Maker for late-night cravings.
- Home-made food that you can store for a few days.
- Passport-sized photographs if you want to issue a new SIM in a new state.
- If you are a gamer then do not forget to carry a good quality mouse and keyboard.
This was in the year 2014 when my cousin was a student there. Things might have changed for the better now.
What is the status of hostel facilities at AIIMS Rishikesh? Are they properly developed or not?
The hostel facilities are pretty good at AIIMS Rishikesh. First-year students are provided with double sharing rooms. The room will have a bed, a study table, an extra table, a bookshelf, and a big cupboard.
AIIMS Rishikesh hostel rooms are spacious. Rooms and washrooms are cleaned regularly. Electricity is available 24*7. Other facilities of the hostel include washing machines, treadmills, and cycling machines.
The hostel warden and staff are cooperating. You can go to them, with any problem you face.
Is hostel compulsory for the freshers in LNCT Bhopal?
No, It is not compulsory for first-year students to opt for Hostel facilities at LNCT Bhopal. However, if you are going to be in Bhopal for the first time or if you are unfamiliar with the city, I would recommend staying in a hostel at LNCT Bhopal.
The benefits of opting for a hostel as a first-year student (or fresher) at LNCT are as follows.
- No Bus fee would be charged.
- Lesser time consumption for travel especially to and from the college campus.
- Easy access to the library for more hours.
- You will get the chance to enjoy and interact with more of your friends and batch mate that would also increase your college activity on the campus.
- Exam, mid-semester, and external benefits are all available (you will know more about it after you join LNCT).
There are many other benefits of choosing Hostel facilities at LNCT which you would realize only after joining the college. You can travel to marketplaces or other spots of the city with local buses that are readily available every 15 minutes from the campus of LNCT. Local modes of transportation like Auto are also available near the premises of the college.
How is hostel life at AIIMS Rishikesh in terms of freedom?

Boys hostel-first year:
- During your first year at AIIMS Rishikesh, students are given an apartment-like hostel with 2 Rooms for 3 students with all the basic amenities one could ask for. After one or two semesters you are shifted to the senior boys hostel.

- Single occupancy rooms are provided with basic stuff like a table, Chair, Bookshelf, Almirah, bed, small table, Fan, Tubelight etc.
- Cleanliness is a unique aspect of AIIMS Rishikesh and its hostels and the entire campus in general is clean and well kept
- There are no fixed hostel timings and you can come and go as your will.
- For leisure time, there are 2 TV rooms, one T.T. Table and 2 badminton courts in the hostel.
- The hostel has excellent sports facilities. There is a Football Ground and Cricket Ground right next to the hostel. There are synthetic courts for Volleyball, Basketball and Lawn Tennis.
Girls hostel
- The amenities and accommodation facilities are similar to that of boys hostels except that girls hostels are open till 10 PM.
What are the hostel accommodation facilities available at K J Somaiya Institute of Management?
Living on campus is one of the key components of an intensive learning experience. K J Somaiya Institute of Management has a residential facility on campus for students. Large hostels have been built to give students the best amenities. All the hostels are located inside the same campus, are under the surveillance of a CCTV camera, and provide a safe environment for both boys and girls.
The hostel is divided into two buildings, one for boys called "Sandipani" which has 11 floors and 1,53,000 square feet. The hostel accommodates 683 boys. The other building is named "Maitreyi" is for girls and is 94,000 square feet in size over five floors. The hostel can accommodate 373 girls at a time. The rooms are bright, comfortable, clean, and airy, with all the necessary accessories.
The hostel also has contemporary amenities, which include a fully furnished gym, laundromats, a student mess, an activity area, and internet access. A fully furnished medical room is also available in the hostel around the clock, and an ambulance is always available.
Are there hostel facilities in IIM Sambalpur?
Yes, IIM Sambalpur has hostel facilities through its temporary hostel Sambalpur University Hostel.

How is the mess at IIM Calcutta?
It's fine unless you're not used to eating mess food. In that case, you may grow tired of the same dishes. Food isn't an issue if you don't mind spending a little money – now and then to eat out. You could also pay extra and have a few extra items made from the mess for yourself.
The mess is run by the student body, and you can bargain over the prices and menu items. The real problem is that mess workers are members of the local union and thus have some bargaining power, which is common in West Bengal.
What are some creative and different hostel rooms at IIIT Hyderabad?
Some of my friends have the most creative hostel rooms at IIIT Hyderabad. Their rooms are architecturally the same as any other hostel rooms, however, their creativity has transformed them into beautiful spaces.
My best friend has one of the most attractive and well-maintained hostel rooms in IIIT Hyderabad. She has decorated her entrance with a paper hanging. The pink colored heart shapes have a golden center and hang from a nail above the entrance door. On the door itself, a paper slip with small paper flowers on its borders, contains her name. The wall above her study table is decorated with posters of wild animals and small notes that she has scribbled on colored papers with sketch pens. She has made a beautiful sketch containing all the main characters from a popular television sitcom. Just above her window, she has put up a black coloured sticker of birds sitting on a tree branch.
One of my juniors has put up posters containing memes on the walls of her room. Her room completely defines her energetic and quirky personality. Her room is very unique and reminds of the good old childhood days. Another of my friends likes to paste maps around her room so that she can use each moment of her time productively.
These are some creative and different hostel rooms at IIIT Hyderabad.
How are the hostels in IIIT-Delhi? How's the first years' hostel different from the rest, if there is? What differences exist between the single rooms and the twin-sharing rooms?
IIIT Delhi hostels are newly built, and well constructed. They are clean and have all the facilities.
The hostels have all-weather ACs and good Wi-Fi connectivity. You’ll get 300 Mbps dual link, 802.11n routers, great bandwidth, and ethernet links. The washrooms are very clean.
There is no separate hostel for freshers. You’ll be sharing a common hostel with your seniors. Senior students are given preference for single rooms. For hostel allotment, students from other states are given first preference.
Boys’ hostel has double seater, while girls’ hostel has triple seater sharing rooms. Sharing rooms are slightly bigger than single seater rooms. But all rooms have the same furnishing. Each student gets a bed, a study table, one almirah, and a few drawers.
You need not worry about hostel facilities at IIIT Delhi as they are top notch.
