B.Tech + M.Tech (IT) from Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior

You can take a drop year if you are confident that you will get IIT. But if you want to have options, it will be better to join IIIT Gwalior and prepare for JEE Advanced. The curriculum isn’t too demanding, you will have ample time for preparation. Also, this way you will have a backup.

IIIT Gwalior has an excellent coding culture. If you are interested in coding and have skills, you can get good placement offers.

Puneet Aarya Posted On : May 30th, 2023
MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences

AIIMS is rightfully called the Harvard of the East owing to its excellence in the field of Medical education. AIIMS has a lot to offer and not every AIIMS student makes the most out of the plethora of opportunities offered. It depends on the individual and his goals.

Here are a few aspects that make AIIMS stand out amongst other medical institutes.

  • The supreme quality peer pool gives way to meaningful discussions with everyone motivating each other to grow.
  • The faculty pool is equally qualified and diverse, comprising authors of international books, leaders in research in their fields, advisors to international committees, etc
  • The overall mindset of the institute is towards striving for excellence. You are left with no option but to do your extreme best and succeed.
  • The patient inflow is also quite diverse at AIIMS and apart from textbook cases, you come across rare diseases too.
  • AIIMS has an annual grant of ?1200 crore. This means better infrastructure and excellent research opportunities for the students.
  • The approachable and experienced faculty combined with good funding aid in research opportunities right from the 1st year
  • Many AIIMS alumni work at top international universities. This is beneficial for research electives and USMLE prospects.
  • AIIMS easily fulfills the required student-faculty ratio guidelines.

With so much to offer, AIIMS is definitely worth it. Remember that it’s the hard work that counts more than anything. Many top colleges give birth to average doctors and vice versa.

What are the best student organizations or clubs to join at Sikkim Manipal University? Why should students join them?

AG
Aniket Ghose Posted On : May 21st, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, Sikkim Manipal University (2019)

One of my friends is an alumnus of Sikkim Manipal University. He joined the Photography club as an overly enthusiastic fresher with a 2-megapixel camera and later on forgot all about it for the rest of 4 years of his course. Eventually, he joined several other clubs that made his time at the institute quite enjoyable.

Here’s the list of Clubs at Sikkim Manipal University.

Technical Clubs:

  • IAESTE - International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience
  • ISTE - Indian Society for Technical Education
  • IE - MECH
  • IE Civil
  • Systems Society of India (I&C)
  • SAE India Collegiate Club (Society of Automotive Engineers)
  • Akshay Urja Club

Non-Technical Clubs:

  • MAFIA - Music and Fine Arts Club
  • Aaina Dramatics
  • Astronomy Club
  • AIESEC - facilitates non-technical internships and projects abroad
  • Rotaract Club - Fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and charity drives
  • Leo Club - Fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and charity drives
  • Blitzkrieg and Showstoppers - Dance
  • Burning Ice - Modelling and Fashion
  • Photography Club

Additionally, there are a number of new initiatives like Manipal University Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI), Formula Manipal, SolarMobil, Parikshit, MTTN, etc.

It's equally advantageous to be a part of a working group in a couple of clubs. You should try to actively participate hinged on your desires and availability. Although it is not needed, it is beneficial to have a diverse set of experiences to highlight on your CV, especially during placements and applications to post-BTech programs.

How good is IIM Rohtak?

RB
Rohan Bansal Posted On : January 18th, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (2021)

IIM Rohtak is a great option but there are many colleges that are better than IIM Rohtak, but it's all about the options you have.

Hostels:

  • There are 4 and 3 bedroom flats in a hostel.
  • Few hostels are of only single rooms i.e made for Research students but PGP students can also occupy in case of a vacancy.

Mess:

  • The college has a private vendor on contract, on special occasions, the food is good.
  • Most students prefer having food at the mess, some people also order online.
  • There is also Chandan Vhaiya’s Tapir, Amul Parlour and a student-run store on campus.

Classrooms: Classrooms are equipped with air-conditioning, multiple sliding whiteboards, and projectors.

Sports: Ample facilities like multi-purpose cricket, football, futsal ground, a volleyball ground alongside it, an open basketball court, two open badminton courts in the middle of the hostel area, 3 table tennis tables.

Culture: Clubs at the institute are largely student-run groups and offer great exposure.

Location:

  • This is one of the few management institutes nearest to the NCR region. If you are placed for an internship at NCR, then you can travel up down on weekdays when the classes are not scheduled.
  • Delhi airport is easily accessible, which helps students to travel home once in a while with ease.

Placements:

Students get placed based on their merits and performance. The table below has the recent placement statistics for the institute.

Is it true that Amity University is more about showing off and having a good time with friends than studying?

Salini Banerjee Posted On : September 22nd, 2022
B.A.,LL.B (H) from Amity University Kolkata

This is certainly not the case. Just like any other university, you need to put in the effort to do well in academics and secure decent scores at Amity University. There are also strict rules in place for attendance. Students need to maintain at least 75% attendance in all subjects. If you want a decent CGPA, you will be busy attending lectures and studying for it.

Can I get an admission in Lovely Professional University without the LPU NEST?

A
Admin Posted On : May 4th, 2024

There are two ways to look at this. LPU NEST is a compulsory entrance exam to seek admission to any of the engineering, MBA or any other courses at LPU. You can skip to appear for LPU NEST if you have qualified any national level entrance exam for the course you are applying to. If you have a JEE Main score for BTech or CAT/CMAT etc for MBA you can get direct admission at LPU.

However, in my opinion there are some advantages of appearing for the LPU NEST. If you qualify for it, you will eligible for a scholarship. The admission process is also very simple as everything is uploaded to the portal when you apply for LPU NEST and you just have to get it verified once selected.

LPUNEST is mandatory for some of the courses and is the minimum eligibility criteria as well, that you must fulfil. But for some courses it is only a scholarship test. So it is beneficial to appear for it as it will improve your scholarship as well.
