Before jumping to the conclusion, let us understand all the aspects of the college which can make you feel that it is good for you or not.

• Ragging – There is absolutely no ragging on the campus except for some fun interactions and are actually good ways to build up a rapport with them. Physical or mental assault is absolutely not permitted on campus.
• Education – The college has an adequate number of professors but the problem lies in having “good” professors. No doubt that they are highly qualified and are highly educated but they cannot deliver the same in an interesting way 
• Placement – Hardly one or two companies come for core civil engineering jobs and the rest of others offer IT sector or sales and marketing jobs. There are many students who happily take them but if you are one who wants to do a job in a core civil engineering company then it is really difficult.

Other than that Heritage Institute of Technology is a good college. If you have no problem with the above-mentioned things then it is a very good choice otherwise it may not look so attractive to you.

One of my brothers was placed in a prominent company through on-campus placement. As per his experience, CGPA isn’t required for the process of getting a good job. 

He scored 9 CGPA and many of his friends scored less than him yet they were successfully placed in prominent companies. The reason behind this is that marks hardly matters when recruiters visit campus moreover, they are all focused on your knowledge and skills. 

Getting a good placement is definitely a dream for all the engineers but you definitely have to brush up on your skills and knowledge before sitting for the recruitment process. 

It depends upon your expectations, your goals, your abilities, etc. The worth of doing Material Sciences and Metallurgy Engineering at PEC Chandigarh will depend on the following factor:

• If you gave your very best at the entrance exams but still could not score well enough to get a higher rank which would have given you an option for a better college or branch, then probably it is best to move on and choose the branch and the college. There will be opportunities here as well, no doubt about that.
• If you think you did not give your full efforts and you could do better in the next year, then definitely you should drop a year for better preparation. It is better to drop rather than lamenting in the future that you did not give your 100% and got stuck here.
• If you prefer engineering and you are passionate about the subject, then the college reputation and brand should not bother you much. It is about the learning you would get and not about other stuff like rankings, placements, etc. You would get plenty of options and opportunities here as well and after graduating too.
• If placements matter to you more than anything and you do not have any preference about the branch you would get, then definitely you should prefer a college with a better reputation, placements, etc.

PEC Chandigarh is not a bad college and has a legacy of close to 100 years now. It is also ranked 68 in the NIRF 2020 engineering college rankings. Take a decision based on what you want rather than superficial stats and other things.

As some of my friends studied at LNCT Bhopal, I can say that the mechanical engineering course offered by them is pretty good. 

• A course in Mechanical Engineering is considered to be among the most prestigious courses of a core branch that is offered by the institution. 
• Every year, several firms visit the campus of the institution to recruit skilled students with innovative ideas for various job profiles. 
• Many companies recruit students from all departments of the institution and not just the department of mechanical engineering. 
• The Institution’s training and placement cell put in efforts actively in assisting the students so that they can acquire a good job role at a reputable firm that hires students on-campus at LNCT. 
• It can be a great choice for you and the students who are looking out for quality education in their graduate programs or for career prospects and enhancement. 

The college campus has a pretty good infrastructure and is student-friendly. This in my opinion would work for the overall development of the enrolled students at the institute and in getting hired by reputed organizations. 

Having read some reviews online about these universities, I can say that, for CSE, among VIT Bhopal, VIT AP, RGPV, or LNCT - VIT Bhopal is a better option. 

• The faculty members are highly experienced and cooperative.
• Some of them have PhDs and 10-15 years of educational experience.
• The student gets to learn a lot from the experienced faculty members.
• The infrastructure of VIT Bhopal is also good. They provide students with all the necessary facilities.
• The labs are well equipped with modern equipment and updated machinery.
• The placements here are equally good.

No matter how good the college is, ultimately it is your hard work that will push your career forward. So do not rely only on the institute, try to work hard as well.

One of my cousins studied at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (MSIT) and he never bought a single book for any branch.

You will get free access to all the books from the book bank. You will also get personal textbooks each semester as soon as you get your college IDs. There is an online portal available that helps in getting ideas about the books available in the book bank.

You will be required to pay for the book bank that has already been added to the college fee in the first year.

There is a book store outside of MSIT where students can buy books of Bhavya Publications which are easy to read and understand and written in simple language. It helps in scoring good marks in IPU.

If you are interested in coding and aim to work in good corporate firms, then it is suggested that you go for CSE at NIT Calicut. But if you want an IIT tag, you can opt for IIT BHU. But this won't matter much afterward.

So, if you are focused on doing research then Chemical Engineering at IIT BHU will be a good option. You can also learn coding on the sidelines, which might be beneficial if you sit for placements.

The choice of studying in a college pursuing a particular subject is entirely up to you. Check where your strengths and weaknesses lie and then choose accordingly. Both institutes are good in their own way. But it is your hard work and dedication that will prove if CSE or Chemical will be good for you.
