Which is better for CSE: NIT Trichy or IIT Dhanbad?

SP
Shankar Pandey Posted On : March 29th, 2023
B.Tech Production and Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (2020)

If you're looking for a top engineering college in India, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy is a great option to consider, better than IIT Dhanbad. Here are some reasons why:

  • CS and other branches: NIT Trichy is known for its strong programs in computer science (CS) and other engineering branches. This means you can expect a high quality of education in these fields.
  • Excellent placements: NIT Trichy has a great track record when it comes to placements. This means that many students who graduate from NIT Trichy can secure well-paying jobs in top companies.
  • World-class infrastructure: NIT Trichy has invested in top-notch infrastructure to support student learning. This includes modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, and other facilities.
  • Experienced teachers: The faculty at NIT Trichy are highly experienced and knowledgeable. They are committed to providing students with a high-quality education and helping them succeed.
  • The best environment for teaching and learning: NIT Trichy offers a supportive and collaborative learning environment, which can be beneficial for student success. Additionally, the college offers a range of extracurricular activities and student clubs to help students develop new skills and interests.

It's worth noting that while a college's reputation can be important, it's not the only factor to consider when choosing a college. It's important to also consider your own needs and preferences, such as location, campus culture, and program offerings. However, if you're looking for a strong engineering program with a good track record of placements and top-notch facilities, NIT Trichy is a college to consider.

Which course is higher regular diploma or NTTF?

SR
Sonakshi Roy Posted On : September 13th, 2021
Nettur Technical Training Foundation

It depends on your career planning. If you are willing to pursue engineering, then a regular diploma with an above-average percentage would be a great option to go for. The estimated tuition charges would be on a lower end as well as it is a regular diploma. If your aim is to land a job as soon as your diploma is completed then it is suggested to opt for NTTF.

  • If you are going abroad for work and your employer asks for your certificate of equivalency from NTTF, then it will be a huge challenge. This certificate is not issued from the state board of technical education. In the case of a regular diploma, you would be able to receive your certificate easily as it is issued by the state board of technical education.
  • The courses at NTTF and GTTC are devised to fulfill the prerequisite of tooling and mechatronics streams. If you opt for tool and Die Making or mechatronics or other similar courses, the challenges your way would increase. You would be at an edge with the continuous explaining of your expertise to your employers your entire life. It is so because the majority of the people are unaware of it.
  • If you opt for mechanical, civil, electrical, electronics, or any other regular Diploma then you would not have the need to explain anything and you would have plenty of opportunities throughout your career as well. You can shuffle from one job to another without any hesitation.

In a regular diploma course, there would be a little struggle in the beginning as the colleges do not provide any immediate placements or training programs. If you look into the future then this is a wise choice rather than the specially designed courses.

What are the charges for the hostel and mess at UIT RGPV Bhopal?

AM
Aniket Mishra Posted On : August 20th, 2021
Studied Electronics and Communication Engineering at University Institute of Technology, RGPV (2017)

Hostels facilities at UIT-RGPV are only offered for girls (both UG and PG degrees) and boys (only PG courses) on the RGPV campus with specific income and category restrictions, which is inconvenient. All of the boys from B.E. are day scholars. A bus cost of 7000 per year must be paid.

The college hostel charge is Rs.2400 additionally. Now coming to the mess charges, it varies since they rise every six months, and because RGPV's mess is a private mess, it charges around Rs.1750 per month.

How are placements of Ch. Brahm Prakash Government Engineering College?

LB
Lakshmi Bist Posted On : April 28th, 2021
Studied at CBP Government Engineering College,Delhi (2020)

Placements are not great here at Ch. Brahm Prakash Government Engineering College. If you are planning on securing admission, you need to study hard as well as be good at coding. My advice to you would be to try securing an off-campus placement.

Up till 2017, the student’s opinion was that the placements here are in the negatives or almost close to zero. However, during that period the administration had not taken enough effort to ensure that students are placed.

Now that the principal has changed, the scenario has definitely improved quite a bit. Although keeping in mind that the college is relatively new, the placements have not drastically improved.

  • The highest package offered to students in the year 2018-2019 was about INR 4 lakhs per annum in the IT branch and about INR 6 lakhs per annum for the civil branch.
  • The rest of the branches received a salary of INR 3.6 to 3 lakhs per annum.
  • If you are looking for extremely high pay like that offered at IITs, you should probably rethink your decision of going here.
  • The placement scenario is definitely improving but it is not as good as you would expect it to be.

The students of the civil engineering branch are getting trained by reputed government agencies and aptitude tests for placements. You can expect to get placed in this case. However, as far as IT is concerned, you will have to get a letter signed by the authorities and find your own internship and job. Here, you can think of focusing on your coding skills or as mentioned in the job skills required and prepare for the same.

How do I skip a paper in BPUT and what are the rules associated with it?

RM
Radhika Mohapatra Posted On : April 16th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, Biju Patnaik University of Technology (2019)

As per the new rules declared in 2018-19, you must clear a total of 179 credits (regular) and 129 credits (LE) to get your degree. If your total credits are greater than the above-said criterion, you can definitely skip the extra credit subject if you want to. For example, if you have a total credit score of 182, then you can willingly skip 182-179=3 credit subjects.

  • You need to fill up an application form available in the examination department of your college.
  • You can skip only one of your exams in all 4 years. Moreover, you can skip the subject only when you pass out.
  • To know about your total credits, download the syllabus for your branch, go to the eighth-semester syllabus and check the total credit points from the Total Cumulative Points written over there.
  • For the lateral entry students, add the first and second semester credits of first-year and subtract them from 179. The credits of (179-1st year credits) are the minimum credits, say X. Now add the credits of each semester starting from 3rd to 8th, say Y. So now, you can skip Y-X credits.

Now, suppose you have skipped one of your exams. The SGPA calculation on skipping the exam would be as follows:

Grade

Score

O

10

E

9

A

8

B

7

C

6

D

5

F

2

M

0

S

0

The credit points per subject (CP) = Score* Credits of that subject

Credit Index (Sem)(CI)= Sum of all subjects*CP

Total credits (TC)= Total credit of each semester (Exclude the credits of the skipped subject)

SGPA=CI/TC.

This would be the new way to calculate your SGPA, once you skip an exam.

How good is Acharya Institute of Technology Bangalore?

AK
Akhilesh Kumar Posted On : April 15th, 2021
Studied at Acharya Institute of Technology

Acharya Institute of Technology is affiliated with VTU which holds a lot of value, unlike Bangalore University. Good or bad depends upon what course the student is choosing.

Study:

  • AIT has enough major courses to choose from as per your own interest.
  • The discipline is pretty strict when it comes to attendance and stuff but otherwise, the students can enjoy it a lot if they stay within their limits.
  • One of the good things is the college conducts lots of different workshops for the students so that the students can get to know the different technologies that are being used in the industry or are in demand.

Campus:

  • The campus itself is pretty big spread over 100 acres.
  • College also provides hostel facilities which are chargeable and free WiFi
  • It has a decent canteen with various eateries available around the college premises.
  • The only problem is the transposition. If you want to roam around, it is difficult as it is not that much connected to the main city.

Placement:

  • Many renowned companies come for placements, but most of them are for IT.
  • Core companies for EEE, Mech do also come but they are very few in numbers.

The table shows a brief overview of the institution:

Particulars

AIT

Median Salary

Rs. 7 lakhs

Highest Salary

Rs. 26 lakhs

Top Recruiters

Kotak Mahindra, TCS, Godrej, Berger Paints, BYJUs

Entrance Criteria

COMEDK UGET / KCET

Fees

Rs. 8.56 lakhs

Overall, Acharya Institute is a great college for engineering. Ragging is prohibited, faculties are well informed, infrastructure is fabulous, and the environment is wonderful.

How many marks should I score in the JEE to get an admission into NIT Calicut?

AC
Arindam Chakraborty Posted On : March 26th, 2021
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Calicut (2019)

Well, the answer is, it is completely depended on the branch that the student selects. However, the students' board examination and caste percentage also matter a lot in this regard.

Thereby, the actual thing is that if the student is from the OBC category and has 92% in the previous board examination, then only 160 marks are just enough to get right of entry in any decent branch, including Civil, EEE, Mech etc. but, if the student wants to get admission in CSE or ECE, then he or she has to score 180-190, at the minimum.

In the following previous year, cut-off (2020) is listed so that the student could find it beneficial.

However, a student can easily explore as well as predict what colleges shall be available on the basis of his or her JEE Mains ranks. If a student scores at least 200+ in the JEE Main, then there is a chance to get a good stream in a good institute.

Can I get any branch in NIT Goa, Jaipur, or Delhi if my JEE Mains rank is 180k (I am in the general category)?

RY
Ritam Yashu Posted On : August 28th, 2021
B.Tech in ECE from NIT, Patna (2019)

It's nearly impossible to get any branch in any of the colleges mentioned above. The colleges mentioned above are all NITs in particular NIT Goa, NIT Jaipur, and NIT Delhi.

None of the NITs open admission for the rank of around 180k so it would be better if you should prepare well and appear for the exam in the next year or take admission in any private college. There's no chance that any NIT would offer admission for 180k rank.

What does it take to get into SRCC?

VK
Vinay Kumar Posted On : January 10th, 2022
studied at Shri Ram College of Commerce (2018)

To get into SRCC, your class 12th results will be the most important. To score a 95 and above 8-10 hours of daily studying is necessary. Revision is one of the key parts. If you also have a proper, more than 75% attendance in your 12th, you are good to go.

Subjects like accountancy and economics cannot be mugged up in a day, so start preparing for them as early as possible.

Try finishing your syllabus before your Pre-Boards and attempt prelims, which will give you an idea about the exam and the proper time frame to complete it in.

Try understanding the practical applicability of the content. Practice as much as possible. There is no other alternative for it.

Set targets for yourself and complete them. Study to learn something new and not only to clear a stage in life.
