What is the cut-off rank for GATE for an MBA at NITIE?

EB
Epsita Bose Posted On : March 24th, 2022
PGDIE Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Industrial Engineering

NITIE Mumbai GATE cutoff stays around 650. For 2021 the required GATE cutoff was 609 (for general category).

A score of around 750 is considered good for getting an interview call from the institute. However, converting the call into admission is a different story altogether. For final selection, the institute also considers past academics, work experience, and performance in GD-PI.

Do companies like Google,Apple, Microsoft and Facebook hire students from institutes like BITS, VIT or KIIT?

Yes, companies such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook hire students from BITS, VIT, or KIIT. In fact, they hire from colleges all across the country. These companies are all for skills. If you have the required skill set, you can get interview calls from these companies. If you belong to some IIT, you will certainly have some advantage over the others.

Can anyone guide me regarding what kind of questions are asked in NITIE Mumbai for PGDIE intakes?

SV
Sagun Verma Posted On : March 24th, 2022
studied PGDIE at National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

A friend of mine appeared for the PGDIE interview of NITIE Mumbai, a few years back. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate. Around 70% of the interview questions were about his profile and his B.Tech project. There were some questions from his graduation subjects as well. During the interview, they often ask technical questions like, ‘Why NITIE?’, ‘What is your career goal?’, etc.

NITIE selection criteria assign more weightage to the GATE score. If you have a decent GATE score, you will have an edge over others. But don’t take the GD-PI round lightly.

What is the current ragging scenario at Manipal University?

VS
Vidit Sharma Posted On : July 13th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Manipal Institute Of Technology (2022)

There is no need to worry about ragging at Manipal University as it follows a strict 0% ragging policy on the campus. The points below state some of the incidents faced by candidates in the university that would clear the picture of ragging in the institute.

  • Wardens are very strict in some blocks in the hostels. The rules are so strict that students from other blocks feel terrified to enter.
  • There are incidents of fun in the hostels of Manipal University, in the names of ragging. One night around 11:30 PM, a group of senior students entered the rooms of juniors and locked the doors. Some of them created a panic situation among the students and left the rooms. Just at 12:00 AM, they entered the room again with friendship bands and wished Happy Friendship Day to juniors.
  • The seniors are very interactive and helpful. During technical club fests, meets, etc, senior and juniors get to interact a lot among them. Most seniors are very friendly and help their juniors at times.

As evident from the above points, the situation of ragging in Manipal University is actually fun and interactive. Although not 0%, but most of the incidents of ragging are based on creating a good relationship between juniors and seniors in the university.

How's the IIIT Sri City, Chittoor?

AR
Anubhav Reddy Posted On : March 24th, 2022
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sri City (2020)

In terms of academics, infrastructure, and placements, IIIT Sri City is average at best.

  • It doesn’t offer proper facilities to the students. The library does not have a good collection of books, there’s no proper working space as well.
  • There are no HTL CSS or Python classes. C-programming is taught by non-professionals. Often irrelevant projects are assigned to students.
  • IIIT Sri City fees are pretty steep. A B.Tech degree from the institute costs around INR 10.74 lakhs.

If you want good facilities and academics don’t choose IIIT Sri City.

Can a fresher with no work experience gain admission to ISB Hyderabad? If yes, then how?

RS
Rachit Sengupta Posted On : March 24th, 2022
studied at Indian School of Business

Yes, you can. ISB Hyderabad admission process includes two options for students with less work experience.

Early Entry Option - EEO is a deferred admission option to the ISB PGP program. Recent graduates with less than 24 months of work experience can secure admission through this option. If you are selected, you will be eligible to join the program upon achieving 24 months of work experience.

Young Leaders Programme - YLP helps students get the tools they need to succeed at the work place. The program will also help you in getting admission at ISB PGP. You can apply to YLP during the prefinal or final year of your UG or PG degree. If you are selected to YLP, you need to complete at least 20 months of work experience. You will attend learning weekends through YLP. Once you fulfill the required work experience criteria and the deferment period is done, you can attend ISB.

Which college should I choose- NM or XIMB?

SB
Sampriti Banerjee Posted On : March 24th, 2022

XIMB is a great option for Finance and Systems. Business Management is their flagship program. All major banks and IT companies recruit from the institute. The institute offers a high ROI. XIMB placement highlight of 2021 reports an average CTC of INR 15.51 LPA. and the highest CTC of INR 24 LPA.

NMIMS is good for Marketing or Sales. It has a well-established alumni base across FMGC majors.

Overall, XIMB is better. It offers an enviable campus experience in terms of academics, case-study-based learning, peer interaction, social life, sports, extra-curricular, fests.

What did Shubham Ajmera, from IIT Mandi, do to break the 1cr barrier and secure a job at Google?

Khushboo Shafi Posted On : February 27th, 2024

It is always good to seek inspiration and motivation from achievers around you. People like Shubham Ajmera aren’t from another planet, they are just like other common folks. What makes them outshine others is their discipline and hard work.

Shubham has a good grasp in coding and problem solving, both of which are absolute essentials for his job profile. He used to attend his lectures religiously, and spent equal time in self study. He read a lot, and made good use of the college library and other resources. He held discussions with the professors, and at the same time, shared his insights with his juniors. Other than learning, he enjoys playing chess, numbers and mind games.

Though it is good to seek inspiration from Shubham, make sure to not copy him entirely. Things might work a bit differently for you. Pick up the good bits from such stories, and try to be unique in your own ways.

If given an option between MHROD and XIMB-HR, which one would you go for? Especially if you do have 3 years of experience in TM.

MBA Human Resources, Delhi School of Economics (2018)

MHROD Delhi is comparably better for an MBA in HR. It is located on the north campus of Delhi University and surrounded by the industrial belt in Delhi NCR. Due to the locational advantage, the institute attracts many top MNCs. DSE offers high ROI for their MBA course. Their HRM program is one of a kind. DSE also has a smaller batch size.
