M.A. English Literature from English and Foreign Languages University (2021)

Allahabad University LLB will be a better option. Being a central university it offers better academics and resources. The Law faculty of Allahabad University is excellent. The environment on campus is competitive and inspires learning. As a student of AU, you will also have a locational advantage, since Allahabad Highcourt is located closer to the campus.

What should be my best pick, CSE at MNIT Jaipur or IT at MNNIT Allahabad?

Sapna Malik updated Posted On : October 10th, 2023

Both the colleges are well-renowned. But there are certain things I would like to bring to your notice-

As per college rankings, MNNIT is the top NIT in North India. It witnesses very good placements in IT/CSE. The average package for IT is almost at par with that for CSE. This year, the average package was around 24 LPA for IT and 27 LPA for CSE. The CSE students at MNIT Jaipur receive comparatively way lower packages.

At MNNIT, CS, and IT students have the same curriculum till 2nd year. Even after the 2nd year, only 1 or 2 subjects are different. The coding culture is great, and coders perform really well on various platforms like CodeChef, HackerEarth, Hackerrank, etc.

I would recommend you choose IT at MNNIT Allahabad.

How good is XLRI Jamshedpur? How it fares against IIM ABC? Please answer, you view is valuable.

SM
Soham Mukherjee Posted On : April 18th, 2023
XLRI, Jamshedpur (2019)

With its HR program allegedly being the best in Asia, XLRI might be ranked as one of the top 6 management schools in India. Other areas of expertise like marketing and finance are also strong.

One of XLRI's major advantages, in addition to having a large alumni base, is that all of the HR directors at the country's top corporations are XLRI graduates. As a result, XLRI receives a fantastic placement. As most employers view it on par with IIM A, B, and C, this also helps if you wish to change jobs. It will be regarded as one notch lower when compared to IIM A, B, and C. Top IB and PE firms that exclusively visit IIM A, B, and C do not go to XLRI. But XLRI is a fantastic alternative if you are not interested in IB or PE.

Many reputable companies (in the financial and consulting industries) exclusively visit IIM A or B; XLRI is not among them. But even with fewer options, XL can help you get into the best companies. The batch size is one factor. The XL BM batch size (until the 2021 batch) was just 180, as opposed to IIM A, B, and C, which had twice as many.

Yes, IET Lucknow is better than MMMUT Gorakpur because IET is a part of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) hence it gets the advantage of AKTU MOU. Having a few friends from both the mentioned colleges, here are some tips for you.

Even though MMMUT Gorakhpur has been ranked #183 in the NIRF. There are some cons of choosing MMMUT Gorakhpur –

  • MMMUT lacks experienced faculty.
  • The fee structure at MMMUT is higher than at IET.
  • Not to speak loud but there is corruption at MMMUT.
Particulars IET Lucknow MMMUT Gorakhpur
Total fees 3.14 to 4.04 Lakhs 2.2 to 2.7 Lakhs

Which college is better for IT, IET DAVV Indore or SGSITS Indore?

SS
Souvick Sengupta Posted On : April 21st, 2021
Studied at IET DAVV

Both the colleges are similar to each other for the IT branch and provide equal facilities to their students, but IET DAVV is a little better than SGSITS.

  • Academics: The IT department at SGSITS was established in 2000, so it can be termed as new as compared to IET DAVV or other reputed colleges. But the IT department at IET DAVV was established in September 1996, so it is much better and older than SGSITS.
  • Faculty: Both the colleges have great faculty who are talented and experienced in their subjects and some of them have even completed their PhDs from top IITs and IISC.
  • Fees: IET DAVV is a self-financed college and the fees are similar for all the branches and it is 65000 per annum. The fees of the IT branch at SGSITS are a little higher than IET DAVV and it is 70000 per annum.
  • Placements: The placements of both these colleges have been excellent and many top companies including Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, and many others have been visiting the campus and offering jobs to many students with good packages. In SGSITS, the IT students must have a higher than 7.5 pointer to sit for campus interview, while CSE branch students must have a 6.5 pointer or higher.
  • Exposure: SGSITS has an advantage as it is much older than IET DAVV, so it has more reputation in the state. But IET DAVV is also a reputed institute and provides a wide range of exposure to its students.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: IET DAVV takes advantage of extracurricular activities like college fests, fresher's programs, and many others functions that are much better than at SGSITS.

As both these colleges are similar to each other in every other aspect except a few, so you can choose anyone according to your preferences.

Which one should I go for: Thapar University or IPU MAIT?

TS
Tania Sharma Posted On : August 7th, 2023
Studied at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology

My friend was in a similar dilemma and ended up giving up Thapar University because his parents were disappointed he did not make it to IITs. He applied everywhere else and went for IPU MAIT instead. His best friend applied to Thapar and got selected in Mechanical.

Recently, his friend told him about the placement scenario there and how excellent the CSE placements were. He headlined that he would have been able to get a huge package of 15 LPA had he gone to Thapar University. The situation at MAIT was not very good and it was difficult even to get a package around 10 LPA.

He regrets giving up Thapar for MAIT, so don't repeat his mistake and go for Thapar without any second thoughts!
