How is ICFAI Hyderabad IBS?

YA
Yash Arora Posted On : March 6th, 2023
Studied at IBS Hyderabad

The reputation of ICFAI has declined over the years. Previously, it was known for its MBA program, but its reputation was tarnished by affiliation issues for its B.Tech course. Some B.Tech campuses in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jaipur, etc. had to be shut down due to a student strike that lasted for nearly a semester, and the non-affiliated B.Tech program run in these campuses. This negative publicity also negatively impacted its MBA program.

It is unclear to what extent the college has recovered since then. It is recommended that you consider colleges with a better track record. With a 98 percentile score, you may also be able to score well in other exams. Additionally, the fees charged by ICFAI, along with the investment of two years in the degree, make it a significant investment. So, it is advised that you consider other options.

How is the life of IPM IIM Indore students different from the life of students at IIT or NIT?

RB
Rahul Bisht Posted On : January 9th, 2023
Works at Students

Because there are only 120 students, students will not be able to interact with students from different cultures, as opposed to engineering colleges, where there are 1000-2000 bachelor students, giving them the opportunity to interact with students from different cultures and organize a large number of events, cultural fests, sports events, concerts, and so on, thus enjoying college life. In terms of sports, IIM Indore offers the most options among all IIMs. Because the batch size is small, all students have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the fests and gain hands-on experience.

Cultural diversity is outstanding. If you want, you can learn a lot of languages in 5 years. Such a curriculum is not available anywhere else.

What is re-registration in IGNOU?

VT
Vinod Tiwari Posted On : October 17th, 2022
Studied at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

It is the process of applying to IGNOU for the next semester online or offline and paying the amount specified by IGNOU based on the degree. Re-registration allows you to enroll in classes for the following semester to complete your degree.

There was also an offline process, but that letter was closed, so I'm not sure if they're still accepting the DD at the counter (RC) or not. I prefer to take online steps because they are simple and convenient. You can also do it offline if your study center's regional center is still accepting applications at the counter.

Also, if you do not fill out the re-registration form this semester for any reason, you can easily pay in the following semester.

There would be no problem if you returned for 6 months. So don't do it. Costs vary depending on the courses you choose.

BJ
Biswajeet Jadav Posted On : March 9th, 2022
MBA Strategy & Economics, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (2017)

Life at IIM Ahmedabad is much more than academics.

  • A typical day on the campus starts around 8:15 am for most students. They usually grab something to eat on their way to class. The lectures start at 8:45 am sharp. If you are late, you won’t be able the attend your lecture that day.
  • Lectures go on till 1:10 pm. Students spend around 45 minutes wondering whether they have a surprise quiz that day or not. The notification regarding the surprise quiz comes around 1:45 pm from the academic office. Students who get quizzes start last min prep. Others enjoy their lunch. Quiz usually goes on till 3:15 pm.
  • During afternoon, some take a nap, some students engage in club activities or sports.
  • After dinner, students do their assignments, group projects, class preparation for the next day. This usually takes up until 2 am, even some more time on certain days.

This is how the cycle repeats.

Is an IGNOU degree valid for UPSC?

AM
Aman Kumar Maurya Posted On : October 17th, 2022
B.A.(Hons.) in English (language) & Psychology, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

You will be qualified. It should be a well-known university. You can check the eligibility criteria listed below:

Academic Qualification for IAS Exams:

  • The candidate must have a degree from one of the Universities established by an Act of the Central or State Legislatures in India, or from another educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or an equivalent qualification.

  • Candidates who have taken or plan to take the qualifying exam and are awaiting results are also eligible to take the Preliminary Examination. All such candidates who qualify to take the Civil Services Main Examination must submit proof of passing the said exam with their application for the Main Examination.

  • In exceptional cases, the UPSC may treat a candidate who lacks the aforementioned requisite qualification as an eligible candidate if he or she has passed an examination administered by another institution, the standard of which, in the Commission's opinion, justifies his or her admission.

  • Candidates with professional and technical qualifications that the government recognizes as equivalent to professional and technical degrees.

  • Candidates who have completed the final year of their MBBS or any other Medical Examination but have yet to complete their internship can also sit for the Main Examination. They must, however, submit a certificate from the University / Institution's concerned authority confirming that they passed the final professional medical examination along with their Main Examination application.

At the interview stage, they must then produce a certificate from a competent authority stating that they have completed all of the requirements for the award of the Medical Degree (including internship).

What is your review of Kurukshetra University?

SD
Santanu Dey Posted On : August 30th, 2022
B.Com from Kurukshetra University

Kurukshetra University isn’t good in terms of academics. The results aren’t declared in time. The evaluation system isn’t good. The course curriculum isn’t up to date. Coursework usually includes subjects that aren’t related to the stream. The teaching approach followed by the university is theory-oriented. You won’t get much hands-on practical learning experience.

SS
Shrayashee Sadhukhan Posted On : September 14th, 2021
B.Tech Information Technology ,Techno India Salt Lake (2021)

Here are the cutoff trends for CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology.

Year  Cutoff by rank (WBJEE)
2019  2877
2020  2532
2021 2438

One of my friends got admission to CSE at Heritage in 2017. He got something like 72 to 74 marks in WBJEE 2017 and he got a rank of 5975.

So, scoring 80 to 84 marks will be enough for you to get the CSE branch of the Heritage Institute of Technology. But the cutoff marks always depend on the toughness of the paper and the quality of the batch appearing for WBJEE.

You can check the complete merit list on site for more details.

SN

B.Tech Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (2021)

Firstly, it is important to keep in mind that old IIT institutes are highly esteemed. On the other hand, new IITs are also rapidly growing and have overtaken some of the old campuses. So, it is important to not avoid an institute just because it has a fairly new IIT campus.

From the given list, IIT Patna was developed 10 years ago and has quickly become a highly accomplished institute in such a short span of time.

Keeping the other institutes in mind, here is a brief description about IIT Patna and what it has to offer within the CSE department.

Ranking:

  • Being an institute of national importance, IIT Patna has an overall ranking of 58 by NIRF 2020 and has been ranked at 41 by QS World Ranking.
  • It is ranked at 22 for its programs in Engineering by NIRF.

  • It has a well-established CSE department that covers a good combination of theory and practical subjects.
  • About 14 students from the department were part of the Google Summer of Code (GSoc), which is the highest number of students from the new IIT’s.
  • Students also get to participate in the interdisciplinary teams such as BAJA and ROBOCON that helps students in gaining exposure and provides them with a learning platform to discover and launch projects.

Faculty:

The faculty members are highly academic and provide students with the best learning experience by solving all their queries and paying individual attention to students.

Student Life:

  • For students from the CSE department, they are given a chance to participate in the ACM-ICPC which is also called the Olympics of Coding on an international platform, where students from IIT Patna secured 72nd rank in the world and were amongst the top 3 in Indian institutes.
  • The student club organizes multiple events like web development workshops and coding competitions in order to improve knowledge and skills in their field of study.
