Why shouldn't I join BIMTECH?

MR
Meghamollar Roychowdhury Posted On : April 19th, 2023
Birla Institute of Management Technology

BIMTECH is a management institute that has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. While some students might face challenges with certain rules and regulations, others may not have any issues with them. Here are some of the factors you might want to consider before enrolling in BIMTECH:

  • Dress code: BIMTECH has a strict formal dress code that all students are expected to follow. While this may help inculcate professionalism and discipline, some students may find it too restrictive.
  • Attendance and examination rules: BIMTECH has strict rules regarding attendance and examinations. Students are required to maintain a certain level of attendance to be eligible for appearing in the examinations. While this ensures that students are serious about their academics, it may also lead to added pressure on them.
  • Location: BIMTECH is located in Greater Noida, which is on the outskirts of Delhi. While this may be a disadvantage for some students who prefer staying in the heart of the city, others may not mind the location.
  • Time constraints: As BIMTECH is located in Greater Noida, students may face time constraints while traveling to and from the institute. This may be an issue for those who have other commitments or live far away from the institute.
  • Diversity: BIMTECH has a greater percentage of students from the northern and central regions of India. While this may provide students with exposure to different cultures, some students may prefer a more diverse student body.

In conclusion, while BIMTECH may have its own set of flaws, it is important to weigh them against the advantages before making a decision.

Can Physical Education be included in the calculation of percentage of Best Four Subjects in Delhi University for B.A programming?

AG
Arpita Garg Posted On : September 23rd, 2021
Studied Bachelor of Commerce with Honours at University of Delhi (2019)

Yes, physical education can be included while calculating your best four for Delhi University but it has a disadvantage of 2.5%.

This means that 2.5% will be deducted from the total percentage of your best four subjects. This calculation of the best four is different for every course and very few colleges have a different method of selecting the best four and that is also limited to some special courses.

Apart from this, all the colleges have a similar procedure for the best four calculations. Delhi University releases an admission bulletin every year and you can consult it for better understanding.

What is your review of CVR College of Engineering, Hyderabad?

KJ
Kanchan Jain Posted On : August 31st, 2021
Studied at CVR College of Engineering, Hyderabad

The infrastructure of CVR College of Engineering is good. By this, it does not mean the looks but facilities in comparison to other colleges at Hyderabad.

The placements are good. But, your chances of getting placed during the campus recruitment drive are higher in CBIT or Vasavi. At CVR, you can apply for placements only if you choose for higher studies.

CVR is too much to handle. The institute runs behind “professionalism” which is merely scoring higher marks, 100% attendance, submitting formal papers which actually contain plagiarized content; all copied from the internet, wearing formals to the labs, and all such things.

You will have no time for yourself. You will always be occupied by some assignment or some record or to finish something up quickly because of the approaching deadline. But, it will certainly get you something, either mark, or attendance, or fines!

You won’t have time even for an internship or if you choose to dedicate serious time to your game.

What is your review about IIEST, Shibpur?

SM
Subhashree Modak Posted On : March 5th, 2021
Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (2017)

One of my friends is a final-year student at IIEST Shibpur. According to him, the placement last year has been great. Microsoft IDC (PPO), Mentor Graphics, CESC Ltd (PPO), Tata Steel (PPO), Bentley Systems completed their recruitment process on campus and hired more candidates than they did last year. Companies like Atlassian, Samsung R&D, and PwC are also expected to recruit on campus. A brief discussion about placements and other aspects of the institute are as follows.

Placements:

  • Pre-final year students got internship offers from various firms like Microsoft R&D, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Texas Instruments this year. Other firms which will be having on-campus recruitment will most likely be hiring interns also. Hence, needless to mention that the placement scenario has continued its trend of improvement this year as well.
  • Students have been hired in companies like Microsoft IDC, Cognizant, Samsung R&D, Infosys, TCS Research and Innovation, Z. S. Associates, etc. from campus placements. Off-campus placements also include Google (Bangalore).
  • The median salary that has been offered is around 7 LPA and every one of the scholars participating in placements got placed. The placement cell improved and has become more proactive and efficient in training and placement of scholars.

Infrastructure:

  • All departments, libraries and hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with decent speeds. The Science and Technology Department features a 1Gigabit backbone network.
  • The rooms and labs are well maintained and have all the specified equipment. The central library is not extremely big but features a good assortment of useful titles. There are smaller departmental libraries also.
  • The hostels are decent and clean but might be improved. They need indoor game facilities also. A replacement hostel for women has just been built and features a far better review.
  • There are multiple canteens on Campus serving good quality food at reasonable rates and a CCD stall with significantly cheaper rates than usual.
  • Other amenities include Gymnasium, Sports fields, Court and Infirmary.

Faculty:

  • The college consists of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They clear the doubts if consulted. Most teachers teach using both chalkboard and multimedia aids.
  • There are multiple teachers and other lab assistants to guide the students during the lab classes.
  • The course curriculum is aligned with most other national institutions and contains the essential topics necessary for the course.

The campus is lush green and located on the bank of the river Ganges. Right beside the institute is Botanical Gardens. Many events take place at the institute all year around. There are annual Techno-Management fest Instruo, Annual Cultural fests Rebecca and Anuranan, and departmental fests. Besides that, there are also sports events. Meritorious students can avail scholarships sponsored by the Alumni Association.

If I take admission to IGNOU in January session when will my term-end exam be conducted?

AT
Anuradha Thakur Posted On : October 17th, 2022
MCA MAH MSW MPA MAPY MPS from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

If you enroll in the January session:

  • Yearly programs — You must submit your assignments by September 30th and your TEE by December 30th.

  • Semi-annual/semester programs — You must turn in your assignments by April 15th, and your TEE by June 30th.

If you enroll in the July session.

  • Yearly program—You must submit your assignments by March 31st, and your TEE in June.

  • Semi-annual/semester programs — You must turn in your assignments by October 15th, and your TEE in December.

IGNOU exams are held twice a year. In June and December. Occasionally, IGNOU extends the deadline.

There's one more thing to think about. Assignments for the July session and the January session (for the following year of that July session) are the same in IGNOU. Also, when you submit the assignments, make sure that they are the most recent available assignments for your course for the current year in which you are submitting them. For example, if you enrolled in January 2021 and did not complete the assignments in the first year, you must complete the newly available assignments for the next year, which are for the January 2022 session.

Do the doctors and residents working in famous hospitals like AIIMS, Manipal, CMC, JIPMER and other top medical colleges get their paycheck on time?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : September 21st, 2023

If you work in a central government-funded institution, you will definitely receive the paycheque on time that is the last working day of the month. However, the situation may not be the same in state government institutions where salaries are not received on time.

I have a few friends in Kasturba Medical College, AIIMS, and JIPMER and all of them told me that they receive their salary exactly on the last day of the month.

However, many other less-reputed hospitals and medical colleges, dont pay their residents and interns or they receive the paycheck extremely late. I believe in order to create a strong healthcare system, we must cater to basic necessities such as paying the healthcare workforce on time.

Which is the better institution to go to, IIT or NIT Trichy?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : July 24th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

Both IITs and NITs are institutes of national importance. But if you ever get the option between NITs and IITs always refer to the following preference order

  1. Top 7 IITs
  2. IIT Hyderabad > IIT BHU > IIT Indore
  3. IIT Gandhinagar> IIT Bhubaneswar =Ropar=IIT Dhanbad=IIT Patna
  4. NIT Trichy>other top NITs
  5. New IITs

The first preference should be the top 7 IITs then some second-generation IITs and then top NITs and lastly the newly established IITs. However, the order may be slightly different if you are looking for CSE. In that case, IIIT Hyderabad is a great choice and ranks above NIT Trichy.

Always give preference to your branch if you have a specific inclination.

While NMIMS BBA total fees are around INR 9.30 lakhs. NM College placements are good. The median CTC offered was INR 4 LPA during the recent placement drive.
