Being one of the highly reported universities in India, DTU BBA program is well-regarded. It is a 3-year program with the aim of providing students with a strong base in business fundamentals and their application in real-world work environments. You can also get specialization in the field of your choice.

It is the elaborate and highly learned faculty pool combined with a well-structured curriculum that makes it one of the most coveted BBA programs across the country. Most of the professors hail from IITs and other top institutes. The program is designed in such a way that it fosters the development of students' practical, managerial, and communication skills, critical thinking, and business decision-making capability.

Students of this exam are given maximum exposure and experience in the form of case projects, presentations, internships, industrial visits, and interaction with experts from industry and academics. The concepts are not delivered for the sake of it but to prepare the students for real-life administrative roles. So we can say that the DTU BBA program is an excellent choice.

Would you chose Ashoka University or IIM Indore's IPM programme?

JA
Jeena Agarwal Posted On : January 24th, 2023
Bachelor of Arts from Indian Institute of Management Indore (Graduated 2021)

You don't have much of a problem if your interests are in the sciences or literature and you don't have a preference for business or management. Clearly, Ashoka is the superior choice. In a similar vein, IIMI is the better choice if business/management or their related fields are of interest to you. Although neither is firmly established, Ashoka offers a more liberal arts university environment while IIMI offers a more business school environment due to the inherent structures of the programs and institutes. Because it is a liberal arts course, the IPM course is fairly nuanced. The Ashoka courses are no exception, particularly those in economics and finance.

IPM's undergraduate program has no concept of "major" or specialization, just like the MBAs at IIMs. Math, statistics, economics, social sciences, and communication are all required subjects. In the end, Ashoka is a liberal arts college and IIMI is a business school. Even the most widely studied subject, economics, will be taught and learned very differently in each location. Again, you'll have to decide which you like best.

It's conceivable that Ashoka has the resources to send you to Ph.D. programs. Given the substantial alumni presence in business, IPM might be better able to place you in professional settings. Having said that, they are not mutually exclusive; you can pursue a Ph.D. after IIMI or an MBA after Ashoka.

What do you have to say to a student who just got into IIM Indore's IPM program?

PS
Prakhar Sahu Posted On : January 2nd, 2023
Management Student at IIM Indore, Mumbai Campus

My friend is a senior at IIM Indore for the same course. As a senior, he has the following pieces of advice and recommendations for his juniors.

  • Spend quality time with your family and friends before joining. Do things you have been willing to do for a long time but couldn't. This is because once you begin your hectic life here, you won't get time for anything else.
  • Refrain from being a part of any clubs and fests in the initial year. Rather focus more on academics.
  • Your peers will be from diverse backgrounds. Some may find it difficult to interact with them. It's okay if you don't befriend them just don't look down on anyone. Everyone here is a genius who has made it into an IIM after many struggles. On the brighter side, peers from all over the country add to the experience and fun.
  • Try to make the most out of the library of the institution. You have a prior subscription included in your fees so you are free to explore the huge variety of books here.
  • Read the IPM Manual given in the orientation thoroughly.
  • Inculcate some extra skills like Excel or typing that might come handy in the future.
  • Don't hesitate from approaching the professors for any kind of doubts. They are very humble and cooperative.
  • Seek help from our seniors as they are more than ready to help in any situation.
  • Last and most important, learn basic E-mail writing etiquette before the actual program begins. This will save you from embarrassing yourself in the future.

All these points will help you avoid some major blunders committed by seniors. But remember everyone makes mistakes in their college life. What matters is how you tackle it and what you learn from it.

How do I start preparing for IPM IIM Indore, effectively?

RP
Radhika Patel Posted On : August 28th, 2021
Studies MBA (Finance) at IIM Ahmedabad

The first thing you should focus upon is brushing up your grammatical skills, alongside your vocabulary. You should understand the fundamental topics of the 10+2 mathematics section, including basic functions and probability.

Most of the quantitative ability questions, while being essentially hard to solve, are of the level of class 9 and 10. However, there are times when certain questions can be trickier than others, even if you are good at Maths.

Practice improving your calculation speed since the time allotted is crucially low. The time allotted is 75 minutes with 45 minutes reserved only for the quantitative section.

Which college should I choose to pursue a BBA, IITM Janakpuri or CPJ College?

SR
Satyaki Roy Posted On : September 8th, 2021
B.B.A from IITM Janakpuri (2020)

You should opt for an educational institution based upon certain parameters such as affiliations, accreditations, reputation, placements, faculty, and extra-curricular activities of the institute. Since its establishment, IITM, Janakpuri has been continuously showing signs of growth in the quality of education and academics and the number of students.

  • The institute has been accredited grade “A” by NAAC. The institute is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha (GGSIP) University of New Delhi and is also verified and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Education, and the Government of India.
  • The students who are enrolled in the BBA courses at IITM are recruited by reputed firms for various job profiles. Some of the top recruiters that visit the campus of the institution to recruit BBA students are Jaro Education, HDFC, RBS, Tech Mahindra, and Genpact. These firms offer decent salary packages to the candidates. The average CTC offered at the institute is 3 LPA.
  • Also, several intra-college extra-curricular activities are arranged by the institution.

Overall, IITM Janakpuri is a good option for doing a BBA.
