Should I go for biotechnology in DTU or an ECE in MAIT IP?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : July 12th, 2023
Lives in New Delhi

If you are getting a chance at DTU, you should take it. Decent ECE companies do not usually visit the MAIT campus for placements. Therefore getting placed can be difficult.

Biotechnology is an emerging stream and is essential for our future in new energy, innovative tech, and creative know-how. It has a good scope and you should go for it.

Choose Biotechnology at DTU especially if-

  1. If you have even a slight interest in Biology
  2. Want to crack CAT or UPSC
  3. Want to go for MS

DTU offers pretty good placement opportunities for all branches, right after graduation.

The college life, infrastructure, peer groups, and crowd at DTU are all better than MAIT.

The DTU brand holds prestige and you will benefit from it in your career.

Thus, you should go for Biotechnology at DTU. Go for ECE at MAIT only if you are very passionate about this stream.

Which one is better, MAIT CSE or DTU BT/ENE/EP/PCT?

TS
Tanvi Sinha Posted On : March 29th, 2023
B.Tech Information Technology, Delhi Technological University (2020)

When deciding between engineering branches, it is important to consider your future goals and current interests. Here are some points to help you make an informed decision:

  • Consider your plans: If you plan to pursue an MS abroad after graduation, then CSE may be a better option as Indians are highly sought after in the IT industry abroad. However, if you plan to work in India, both branches are equally good.
  • Think about your career path: If you are interested in non-technical roles like consulting and marketing, then either branch would suffice. However, if you are interested in hardcore engineering jobs, then both branches are equally good.
  • Look at the exposure provided: DTU offers excellent exposure as the number of non-tech companies visiting DTU is more than the total number of companies visiting any IP college. However, both branches offer good exposure in their respective fields.
  • Evaluate your interests: If you are inclined towards a particular branch, then it would be better to pursue that branch as it will help you maintain interest and focus on your studies.

In conclusion, both branches have their advantages, and the choice ultimately depends on your personal preferences and career goals. While DTU provides excellent exposure, CSE may be a better option if you plan to pursue an MS abroad.

DS
Dia Shetty Posted On : October 5th, 2020
Studied at Delhi Technological University (2017)

DTU is ranked at 36 amongst all engineering colleges in India by NIRF 2020. MAIT is ranked at 89 by the week for BTech.

The Engineering Physics program at DTU is related to applied physics and has electronics as a major subject and minor electives which include Nanoscience, Nuclear engineering, Photonics, space, and atmospheric science, etc. Whereas,EEE strictly focuses on electrical subjects and excludes minor electives.

Admission:

  • Both the colleges admit students through joint admission counseling (JAC) that is based on JEE scores.
  • A student needs to have a minimum of 60% for the general category and 55% for SC/ST/OBC categories in 10+2 to be eligible for admission.
