Should I take BITS Goa for ECE or NITK for information technology (IT)?
IT in NITK is the most sought-after branch after CS and EC. You should also be aware of the status of NITS and BITS. NITs are usually national-level institutes, but the onus of choosing your preferred branch and institute finally depends on you.
NITs have always been better than private institutes. Look at your area of interest. Do you like to tinker with electronic objects or is coding your forte? Once you clear this out, you will have a clear idea about what to choose.
But, if you are unable to make a decision, look at placements if you are going to look for a job in the future. Students from CS and IT get paid really well with higher chances of bagging a job as compared to other branches.
As far as these two colleges are concerned, NITK has better placements for IT. BITS Goa is good too. Overall, you will not regret choosing either of these two colleges but in the end, it all boils down to your interests.
Which is better: BITS GOA or VNIT?
BITS Goa is anytime better than all the NITs in India. The following are the reasons.
- BITS Goa has a huge brand name. It is a Tier-1 engineering college in India.

- The infrastructure of the college is breathtaking. There are various facilities like well-equipped separate hostels and mess for boys and girls, SAC (student activity center) for a wide range of sports, guest accommodation, medical center, central library, computer labs, and different laboratories.
Overall, the fee of BITS Goa is on the higher side. But it is worth paying for its brand name. BITS Goa offers a lot of scope to the students and encourages the holistic development of the individuals. Even the faculty is experienced and helpful.
What should I choose between BITS Goa CS and IIT Roorkee Applied Maths?
Applied Maths at IIT Roorkee is a more viable alternative than BITS Goa CS provided that you have an interest in coding.
- The course structure of Applied Mathematics is quite similar to that of KGP MnC. Unlike the general assumption, this program isn’t research-oriented. Only a few who have a deep passion for Maths take up research as a much later endeavor.
- The best part of the program is the excellent job opportunities it offers. Its placements are second only to CS, the most preferred branch.
- You get to avail top-notch facilities provided by a leading IIT, Roorkee
- IIT Roorkee has the highest intake of this program even more than IIIT Hyderabad.
- The Applied Maths team bagged the 68th position in the ACM ICPC world Finals and the 2nd position in India.
- The course structure covers diverse topics like data structures, design, Analysis of algorithms, and discrete mathematics. All these topics help to strengthen the Computer programming base of students.
So, Applied Mathematics is a much better option than BITS Goa CS.
Is NIT kurukshetra better than BITS goa? (for mechanical engineering)?
I have friends from NIT Kurukshetra, so can give you an idea about the institute. The Mechanical Engineering Department at the institute has good faculties. But, they hardly come up to the class and without their guidance, clearing the exams is tough. If you are choosing NIT Kurukshetra I will advise you to concentrate on your studies as clearing examinations without supplementary examination is challenging at the institute.
Also, Placements are good enough at NITK and you can easily secure a 5-6 LPA package as of now. According to the 2020 placement report the average CTC offered was 10 LPA.
How many students get above 9 CGPA in BITS Goa?
Out of about 620 students, only 15-20 students get a CGPA higher than 9, every semester. As tough as it is to get such a CGPA, it is equally tough to maintain such a CGPA. It is not impossible, though.
- To achieve and maintain such a CGPA, it is important for you to be up to date with your academics. You should also attend your classes regularly.
- Staying in touch with your academics and maintaining a regular attendance will help you get to an admirable CGPA but achieving a CGPA that is higher than 9 will take some hard work.
The seniors are very supportive and they would be happy to help you in achieving the said CGPA.
Which is worth joining, NIT Trichy EEE or BITS Goa ECE?
Among BITS Goa ECE and NIT Trichy EEE, the latter is a better option. NIT Trichy will give you better exposure and opportunities.
Most companies that visit the campus placement of NIT Trichy allow EEE students to sit for placement. You can appear in interviews for IT, Management job roles along with core job roles. Also, PSU visits the campus placements and mostly prefers EEE students for recruitments. Which can’t be said for many campuses. Here are the recent placement highlights for NIT Trichy.

BITS Goa is also a good option but comparably you will get better opportunities at NIT Trichy.
Which is better, ECE at NIT Jalandhar or EEE at BITS Goa?
The better choice is undoubtedly EEE at BITS Goa than ECE at NIT Jalandhar.
NIT Jalandhar is still a developing institute whereas BITS Goa is a well-established institute that has got reputation all over the world. Most of the students have cracked competitive exams like GMAT, GRE, and UPSC, etc with a good rank.
You will interact with people who have appreciable knowledge and you will have healthy competition as BITS Goa don't have caste reservations.
Finally, if you can afford to join BITS then do it if not take a loan and don't worry about returns. You will get them in a year or maybe 2 years. Ultimately the choice is yours.
Are cycles allowed in BITS Pilani, Goa campus?
One of my friends graduated from BITS Pilani, Goa, and here are some things that he shared about his institute. This might answer your question.
- Cycles are not allowed at the BITS Pilani, Goa Campus as it is a very small campus relative to Pilani. There are no places where cycling is required.
- The faculty and Ph.D. students are allowed to bring cycles and motorbikes to campus for traveling.
- The Master's and Bachelor's students are not allowed to travel in cycles or motorbikes.
However, some use skateboards to travel but these people comprise very few. Usually, most students tend to just walk.
What should I take, BITS Goa CS or IIT Roorkee (civil or chemical branch)?
The job opportunities in both Chemical and Civil are very limited and it’s also difficult to switch domains later. The core opportunities consist of more of a blue collared job. One can go for Government jobs if interested.
Go for CS in BITS Goa if you are looking for excellent placement opportunities or higher education. CS provides excellent opportunities in terms of higher studies and research work. But if you are adamant about Civil or Chemical, go only if you are genuinely interested, and that too after in-depth research about the nature of work.
The only drawback of joining BITS Goa is the exorbitant fees which might be a major issue for many. Apart from this the branch is very promising and is expected to grow more so. It’s recommended to contact working professionals in the field once and enquire about career prospects. Also, go for CS only after gaining a basic level of coding skills.
Should I opt for chemical in BITS Goa or EEE in RV College of Engineering?
The dilemma of choosing an engineering branch is one of the most common situations for students who just cleared their 12th boards. Now coming to the question, there are two pieces of advice to be followed in this case.
- Firstly, it’s high time to sort out your preferences. You need to take time and decide where you are inclined towards. As both of them are totally opposites of each other, it is very crucial to follow your interest as you will be dedicating 4 years of your life. Most importantly, it will decide your career too.
- Secondly, if you are okay with any of these and the only thing that matters to you is the college name, then go for BITS Goa. There you can also enquire and opt for the dual degree option. Despite one extra year, it will prove worth it. Also, in other parameters like brand name, faculty, etc, BITS Goa outshines RV College any day.
Overall, it's best recommended to follow your interest first as these will be career deciding years of your life, and you don’t wanna regret it later. After all, your hard work and passion are what determines your success.
