SM
Siddarth Mukharjee Posted On : May 5th, 2022
EPGP from Indian Institute of Management Indore (2021)

Compared to IIM Lucknow’s IPMX, IIM Indore’s EPGP will be a better option.

Small Cohort Size:

IIM Indore has a small cohort size. So, the professor-to-student ratio is higher.

Location:

IIM Indore IPMX program takes place on the Noida campus. The environment on campus is ideal for studies and it also has the advantage of being close to the industries in the Delhi NCR region.

Placement:

IIM Indore Executive MBA placements 2022 had witnessed an all-time high average placement package. The average CTC for the top 25% of the EPGP students was INR 35.5 LPA. While the top 50% of students received an average CTC of INR 30.6 LPA.

Batch Size:

IIM Indore 2021 EPGP batch had 68 students. Students had work experiences in the range of 5-15 years. The students crowd is diverse and there is huge potential for peer learning.

Due to these factors, EPGP from IIM Indore will be a better option.

How did you react when you got into AIIMS Delhi?

VM
Vedant Mishra Posted On : May 30th, 2023
MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

Every student who is from a financially weak background with big dreams must have felt ethereal happiness on getting selected for AIIMS Delhi. The same was the case with my sister.

Hailing from a middle-class family with limited funds to support her education, she was elated when she found out about her admission. She knew that getting into AIIMS was just the beginning and not the end of her dream, but getting into AIIMS Delhi in itself wasn’t a cakewalk. It brought her one step closer to her dreams. Today she has almost completed her degree and is on the verge of achieving her dream!

How good is IIIT A (Amethi campus)?

AC
Anwesha Chatterjee Posted On : March 11th, 2021
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (2018)

IIIT Allahabad works in synchronization with the main campus. The campus is decent and well maintained. But as it is still in its developing phase, some adjustments are still required.

Below discussed points highlights some of the amenities available at the Amethi campus:

  • Facilities, Hostel, and Infrastructure: The campus is still under development, but electricity, water supply, internet connection, library, and food are as good as any other campus in India.
  • Computer Lab: There are six computer labs with approximately 270+ students. In the first year, students need to share a computer with two people. Afterward, students get their computers.
  • Laboratory: There is a Multi-purpose laboratory used for EDC, Microprocessor, and other subjects. It is not up to the mark, but practical is interesting.
  • Sports: There is a basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court, gym, and table tennis.
  • Hostel: There are a total of three hostels, out of which two are for boys, and one is for girls.
  • A proper canteen is also there.
  • Guest House: There is a well-maintained guest house for students to visit their family or loved ones.
  • Auditorium: A place for extra-curricular activities like seminars, quiz competitions, debates, dance, music, and official introductions.
  • Faculty: The faculty is the same as the main campus of IIIT Allahabad. This is the reason that the classes start from 10 AM to 5 PM with a lunch break of one hour.

It's situated in a village named Tikarmafi, which is 10 km from Amethi. So, the place is secluded, and the least facilities are available here.

At present, the students have to be in Amethi campus for the first three years, and in the last year (fourth year) they are shifted to the Allahabad campus. So, placements are not different in Amethi and Main campus.

What is the difference between IES and GATE?

SS
Shubham Saxena Posted On : February 17th, 2021
Studied B. Tech, 2021

GATE and IES, are very well known among graduate engineers. The IES exam is carried out annually by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the GATE exam is administered by Bangalore's Indian Institute of Science (IISc) or any of the seven IITs.

Syllabus and paper pattern:

  • The complete engineering syllabus is covered by the IES exam, while GATE covers a portion of this syllabus and some other topics useful for higher studies.
  •  While GATE tests problem-solving ability, IES tests conceptual capability.
  • The IES exam paper contains questions of the objective and subjective type and a total of 4 papers, while the GATE exam paper only contains questions of the objective type and only 1 paper.
  • Only in the subjective paper, a calculator is allowed.

Difficulty Level & Duration:

It will be much more difficult to solve the questions you will face in GATE than in IES.

  • In a single problem, GATE questions require you to apply many concepts. For that, you should have good problem-solving skills.
  • While most of the questions asked in IES are direct formula or a single concept based.
  • In GATE, in 3 hours, you have to solve 65 questions that are approximately 2.5 minutes per question.
  • On the other hand, you have 120 questions in 2 hours to solve in IES. So, 1 minute per question which means you get nearly 2.5 times more “time” per question in GATE. But the difficulty level compensates for it.

Category of PSUs and Job Scope:

  • UPSC conducts IES examination to recruit candidates under the Govt for different engineering departments (mechanical, electrical, civil, and E&T).
  • Around India, The departments you get through IES are Indian Railway Service of Engineers, Indian Railway Stores Service, Indian Ordnance Factories Service AWM/JTS., Central Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Service, Geological Survey of India Engineering Service Gr ‘A’, Central Engineering Service (Roads), Gr ‘A’, Central Water Engineering Service Gr ‘A’, Indian Defence Service of Engineers, Central Power Engineering Service Gr ‘B’ and so on.
  • The GATE exam is organized for higher studies (M.tech., PH. Ed. etc) and for placements in PSUs and Govt. Organizations.

From the above-mentioned factual information, the difference between the two should be clear. Rest all depends on your choice what you opt for.

How can I prepare for the B.Stat. at ISI, Kolkata?

TD
Tina Dey Posted On : September 21st, 2021
Studied at Indian Statistical Institute (2018)

There are three sections in the entrance exam and the level of maths is the same as what you studied in your 12th. The exam follows the pattern of most high school mathematics competitions (RMO, INMO, etc).

The three sections of the Entrance Exam consist of MCQ, A Subjective Test, and an Interview.

The books you must know are:

  1. Problem Solving Strategies by Engel Arthur
  2. Test of Mathematics at the 10 + 2 level, Indian Statistical Institute, Published by Affiliated East-West Press Pvt. Ltd.
  3. Challenge and Thrill of Pre-College Mathematics by B. J. Venkatachala

You should complete these all and do previous year’s papers of ISI/CMI RMO, INMO and IMO.

For Interview:

  • Once you crack the exam, the interview part won’t be that difficult.
  • Answer the questions confidently and honestly.
  • The entrance exam of ISI is not easy and also there are only a few seats for B.Stat.
  • You have to prepare well.

Do not overthink and do your preparation well. This will help you a lot. Be calm and try to think of cracking the exam and the latter part would be an easy task for you.

Is an IGNOU degree accepted for jobs?

RA
Ranjeet Ahuja Posted On : October 18th, 2022
M. A. in English Literature & English (language), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

The degree you accept and consider is heavily influenced by the people who hire you, i.e. your employers. To give you an accurate picture, the syllabus and study material are far superior to Mumbai University, as it provides in-depth knowledge. If you want to continue your education, the IGNOU degree will not be accepted by any universities abroad.

When you present yourself to a prospective employer, make sure you have a compelling reason for choosing distance education. If the company believes you've spent your time productively improving your skills, you'll be rewarded for it.
