New Delhi: The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) Dehradun has successfully concluded its placement season for the academic session 2023-24, where the highest salary was recorded at INR 36 Lakh and a total of 2000 job offers were received by the students.
The UPES student of BTech computer science with specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) received a total of INR 36 Lakh Per Annum (LPA) by Autodesk India. However, the median salary received by the students was recorded at INR 4,50,000.

During UPES Placements 2023, a total of Five BTech Applied Petroleum Engineering students with a specialization in Gas or Upstream were recruited by Schlumberger at INR 33 LPA.
Meanwhile, Accenture Strategy and Consulting hired an MBA graduate with a specialty in Oil and Gas Management for INR 27.83 LPA. Whereas four additional MBA grads with the same specialization received offers for INR 23 LPA by ONGC.
Some of the roles offered to the UPES students are Business analysts, cyber security analysts, consultants, revenue managers, data analysts, software engineers, design consultants, and risk analysts.
Top recruiters who participated in UPES Placements drive are Oracle, Accenture, Infosys, Deloitte USI, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PwC, LTI-Larsen ONGC, Airbus, Boeing, Microsoft India, Zeta, Amazon, Toubro InfoTech Ltd, and Wipro Limited. Last year, the prestigious recruiters made over 3800 placement offers to the university students, whereas this year, a total of 2000 job offers have been made.
The students from IT, education, research, and consulting enterprises as well as schools of business and health sciences and technology received employment offers, resulting in a placement rate of 100 percent for the schools of engineering, computer science, business, and health sciences and technology. Microsoft India's highest offer to three School of Computer Science students was around INR 50 LPA.
The National Institutional Curriculum Framework (NIRF) reported that during the academic year 2020-21, a total of 1,192 students were only placed out of 1,634 UPES graduates.
