UGC Approves Three More HEIs to Offer Online and ODL Courses; Read Details Here

New Delhi: University Grants Commission (UGC) has recently approved three more Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to offer online courses in online and distance learning modes for the academic sessions starting from January-February 2023.

Following this announcement, the Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences from Himachal Pradesh, Vivekananda Global University from Rajasthan and Galgotias University from Uttar Pradesh will offer online courses in various disciplines.

The approval was given to these HEIs after ensuring that the institutes meet the UGC (ODL, Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020 and meet the prescribed fee notified by the University Grants Commission.

The last date to apply for admission to the online courses offered by the approved universities will be notified by the UGC for each academic session. For the January-February 2023 session, the last date to submit applications for the admission process is March 31, 2023.

After receiving the approval from UGC, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences, Himachal Pradesh will offer its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program online and open distance mode to all interested candidates for the 2023 session.

Vivekananda Global University, Rajasthan will offer three programs in open and ODL mode, which are Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Additionally, Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh will offer its Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Master of Commerce (MCom) in online mode.

Informing about the decision, the official notice reads, "these HEIs are entitled to offer online programmes till they are complying with NAAC or NIRF ranking requirements as per the UGC regulations”.

“Previously, the commission has also mandated all HEIs offering online and ODL programmes to create Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) IDs of its students and deposit their credits”, the notice further reads. For more information, visit the official website of UGC at ugc.ac.in.
