New Delhi: University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved three more universities to offer online programmes from the academic year 2022–2023, which are GLA University, Amity University, and Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the decision, the universities that have been approved by UGC can offer their courses through online learning mode from this academic session. Earlier, September served as the academic session for 2022, with November 15, 2022 as the deadline for admission.
Following the UGC's new college autonomy guidelines, “universities may offer courses in the Open and Distance Learning mode, with the approval of the commission, provided it satisfies all the conditions laid down under the regulations".
The BA in Computer Applications, BBA, BA in Arts and Commerce, and MA in Commerce are among the five online courses that Manav Rachna International Institute of Research And Studies will be presenting. While Two programs; BA in Commerce and a Bachelor of Business Administration can be found at GLA University.
However, Amity University in Uttar Pradesh has received permission to offer six online courses. In addition to three other master's degree programmes, Amity University will offer bachelor's degrees in social work, business, and the arts. Both GLA University and Amity University are private institutions located in Uttar Pradesh.
“The HEIs shall comply with all the provisions of the regulations and its amendments. The last date for admission will be notified for each academic session and HEIs will upload the admission details within 15 days thereafter,” the UGC notice read.
