UGC and AICTE will Collaborate and Implement a Cluster Model for Education Initiatives

New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have declared their intent to collaborate to employ a 'cluster strategy' to deal with substantially identical functions to improve efficiency.

Under this "cluster strategy," the UGC and AICTE officers are expected to be grouped under one body. The division will, after that, handle any comparable functions. Most of these functions will be related to higher school systems, such as research, training, etc.

According to the reports, the decision to use the 'cluster strategy' was established during a gathering of the bureau chiefs of technical education and higher education regulators.

As per Times Now, UGC Chairman M. Jagadesh Kumar stated, "During the meeting, both regulators committed to collaborate in areas including research and innovation, e-governance, translation of books into regional languages, and examination changes, among others."

As a result of the necessity for unified operations and standard operating procedures, the two institutions decided to implement a clustering strategy. The higher education regulators emphasized the need to discuss and implement mutual best practices for an efficient and coordinated national approach to higher education.

UGC Chairman, also the interim Chairperson of AICTE, stated, "After in depth discussions, it became clear that UGC and AICTE must have a symbiotic relationship and work together on issues such as faculty development programme."

He also added, "students and faculty induction scheme, skill development, internships, globalisation, pursuing two degrees simultaneously in physical, online, hybrid mode, Indian Knowledge System, and universal human values, among others."
