New Delhi: The Fee Regulatory Authority(FRA) has released a notification satting the increase in Medical Courses fees in private medical colleges in Maharashtra. The increased fees shall be implemented from the academic year 2022-23.

Earlier, NMC (National Medical Commission) had released an Office Memorandum stating the private medical colleges in the state to make the fees of at least 50% MBBS Seats at par with government medical colleges. 

On the contrary to this, the private medical colleges in Maharashtra are all set to increase the fees for MBBS Courses. "The fees for the UG medical courses in private colleges were approved following a meeting on 8 October," says FRA's notification, as reported by Indian Express.

As per the report, the fee structure of KJ Somaiya Medical College, Sion, has been hiked to INR 11.27 lakh per year from INR 10 lakh per year. There is a significant increase in the fee structure of Padmashree Dr Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Medical College in Ahmednagar to INR 11 lakh per year from INR 9.8 lakh per annum. The fee structure of Nagpur’s NKP Salve Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre has also increased to INR 11.6 lakh from INR 10.6 lakh per year.
