Tripura to get its First Dental College by July 2023

New Delhi: According to an MLA, Tripura will get its first dentistry college by the following academic year, which will begin in June or July.

IGM Hospital's new facility would house the college, according to lawmaker Dr. Dilip Kumar Das.

According to Das, who is also the head of the Rogi Kalayn Samity at the IGM Hospital, the Health Department has already established some infrastructure for classrooms, operating rooms, pathology, and administrative work based on the suggestions of an expert group, PTI reports.

In order to inspect the facilities built up for the establishment of the dentistry college, Chief Minister Manik Saha visited the new seven-story building of IGM Hospital on Tuesday with Health Secretary Dr. Debasish Basu.

The college will first operate out of the hospital's new structure, but it will eventually move to Khejurbagan, next to the Raj Bhavan, where five acres of land have been set aside, he said.

The CM, who is also the health minister, "would approach the Dental Council of India (DCI) to visit the college for affiliation once the whole infrastructure is in place," Das continued.
