New Delhi: Government of Telangana will be establishing 33 medical colleges across the state, said Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao.
During the question hour session in the Telangana Legislative Assembly, he asserted that 12 medical colleges have been approved for being established at different places after the formation of Telangana state, out of which 4 at Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Siddipet, and Suryapet are already operating.

Telangana Medical Colleges Admission: 8 Medical Colleges to Start Session from 2022-23
The Health Minister T Harish Rao added that the formalities for the National Medical Council application are finished and the works pertaining to infrastructure are going on for 8 other medical colleges whose admissions will commence from session 2022-23.
He also stated that the Telangana Government has planned to set up 8 additional medical colleges and provide a facelift to the attached hospitals at Bhupalpally, Vikarabad, Sircilla, Jangaon, Kamareddy, Khammam, Asifabad and Karimnagar.
Telangana Medical Colleges: Seats
Rao also asserted that 2000 seats for the MBBS course are being added in Telangana. There were 700 seats in 2014 and now it has risen to 2850 seats. For PG medical courses, there were 934 seats (including NIMS hospital).
Telangana Medical Colleges:: Beds and Oxygen Tanks
The minister said that in 26 hospitals across Telangana, 26 oxygen tanks have been installed and 27,000 beds have been developed for being converted into oxygen beds. There were 200 beds at NIMS hospital and 100 more beds were ready to be inaugurated. In addition, 100 more beds are proposed to be ready in a month.
