Tamil Nadu PG Dental Admission 2022 Mop-up Counselling Begins


New Delhi: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Tamil Nadu has started its PG Dental mop up counselling session, after releasing the schedule for the mop-up round of the PG Dental Admissions.

Instructions: 

  1. Since this is mop-up counselling, candidates should join without delay if an MDS seat is assigned to them based on their preference filling. Candidates who are allotted but do not engage in this mop-up counselling will not be permitted to take part in the round for stray vacancies and will also be required to pay a penalty of INR 15 lakh for the MDS Course.
  2. Candidates who are interested in this counselling must sign up.
  3. Candidates registering for the MDS course via online counselling must pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 1000 via credit card, debit card, or net banking. There is no additional cost for candidates who have already paid the processing fee.
  4. For the management quota, applicants must pay a Rs. 200000 security deposit via net banking online. Candidates who had paid the security deposit are not required to do so again.
  5. Government quota - Seats in Government Dental Colleges are locked at a cost of Rs. 30,000. Government dental colleges and self-financed dental colleges charge a choice locking fee of Rs. 100,000.
  6. If they are not selected in the mop round, the only candidates who registered and filled out their choices in the mop-up round will be eligible for the stray vacancy round. Candidates are advised to register for the mop-up round in order to participate in the stray vacancy round.
  7. If no qualified NRI or minority candidates choose the MDS course, the same spot will be given to general candidates.
  8. If candidates get an allotment under government /government quota in Self-financing Dental colleges in this round of counselling (i.e., Mop-up Counselling), their management quota seat (if the candidate holds in the previous round of counselling) will be cancelled automatically.
  9. Candidates cannot make a claim in this Management mop-up counselling if they receive an allotment under the government or government quota in self-financing dental colleges during mop-up counselling. Therefore, candidates are advised to carefully select the lock. 
  10. When reporting to the concerned Dental College after being selected for admission, candidates should fill out a self-declaration form stating that they are subject to criminal prosecution and forfeiture of their selection and admission should any omissions of the truth or misinterpretations of the truth be discovered at any point before, during, or after their admission to the course.
  11. Candidates must pay their tuition fees online, download their provisional allotment orders, and enrol in the course at the relevant dental colleges on or before the dates and times specified during this stage of online counselling.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Management Quota: 
  1. The applicants who have applied and are now qualified as a result of lowering the percentile.
  2. Candidates who did not receive an assignment during Round I or Round II of counselling.
  3. The Round I and Round II State Quota and All India Quota candidates who were assigned but did not join are eligible to participate in this counselling.
  4. Candidates who were selected in Round I of the AIQ/State Quota but withdrew within the allotted time are eligible to attend this counselling.
  • Government Quota:
  1. The applicants are qualified after lowering the percentile. 
  2. Candidates who did not receive an assignment during Round I or Round II of counselling.
  3. The Round I and Round II State Quota and All India Quota candidates who were assigned but did not join are eligible to participate in this counselling.
  4. Candidates who were selected in Round I of the AIQ/State Quota but withdrew within the allotted time are eligible to attend this counselling.
  • Non-eligibility Criteria:
  1. Participants in the All India Quota Round II counselling are not permitted to resign from their seats. Similar to this, candidates who participated in Round II of State counselling will not be able to resign or give up their seats.
  2. Candidates who have accepted admission in the second round of allotment or who continue to occupy the seat they were given in the first round after the notification date and whose seat was not upgraded in the second round are not allowed to leave their seats.
  3. Participants in the state mop-up counselling and the stray vacancy round must not have taken part in Rounds I and II of the All India Quota, Deemed Universities, or DNB (conducted by NBE).

Conversion of Seats in the Government Quota's Mop-up Round:

  1. If no qualified PwD candidates apply for PG Degree or Diploma programmes, qualified candidates from the general category will be given those spots.
  2. Candidates from the SC community will fill any vacant positions that remain due to a lack of qualified SCA candidates, and vice versa, according to merit (GO (Ms.) No. 55, P & A R Dept., dated 08.04.2010). In light of this, SC candidates may also register and select a lock for SCA seats.
  3. Candidates from the SC community will receive any vacant seats in the ST quota that are not filled by an adequate number of ST community members who are qualified, according to merit. (GO (Ms.) No. 77 H & FW Dept. dated 24.02.2011. Thus, the SC candidates can register and choose a lock for ST seats also. 
  4. After the merit list has been exhausted, any open positions in the BCM community that remain unfilled due to a lack of sufficient eligible candidates will be filled on a merit basis by candidates from the BC community, as long as they do not exceed the quota for the BC community as a whole (GO (Ms.) No. 30 H & FW Dept. dated 18.01.2012). In light of this, BC candidates may register and select a lock for BCM seats as well.

Documents to be Submitted: 

Management Quota

  • NEET MDS -2022-Score Card.
  • NEET MDS - 2022 Admit Card.
  • Aadhar Card
  • BDS Degree Certificate or Provisional Pass Certificate.
  • CRRI Completion Certificate.
  • Permanent Dental Registration Certificate issued by the Dental Council of India / State Dental Council or Provisional Registration Certificate issued by the Dental Council of India / State Dental Council.
  • Eligibility Certificate, if applicable.
  • 8. A copy of the receipt of payment of the Tuition fee.
  • Postcard size colour photograph (4 "x 6"), the same photo that has been uploaded in NEET PG-2022.

Candidates seeking admission under Minority Category are required to produce the following documents along with the above original certificates -

  • Minority Certificate
  • Nativity certificate of the candidate
  • Community certificate of the parent (Not applicable for forwarding community)
  • Study certificate of the parent

Candidates seeking admission under NRI Category must produce the following documents along with the above original certificates -

  • NRI status of the financial supporter issued by the Indian Embassy of the respective country under their seal.
  • Certificate of Relationship between the NRI financial supporter and the candidate issued by the competent authority and valid Indian Passport of the NRI financial supporter.
  • NRE (Non-Resident External) Bank Account Pass Book of the financial supporter.
  • Evidence for payment of Development charges of US $1000/- to the college by the NRI financial supporter (One-time payment at the time of admission only).

Government Quota:

  • NEET MDS -2022-Score Card.
  • NEET MDS - 2022 Admit Card.
  • Aadhar Card
  • MDS Degree Certificate or Provisional Pass Certificate.
  • CRRI Completion Certificate.
  • Permanent Dental Registration Certificate issued by the Dental Council of India / State Dental Council or Provisional Registration Certificate issued by the Dental Council of India / State Dental Council.
