Tamil Nadu Board Exam 2021: Classes 10, 12 to Not Have Quarterly, Half-Yearly Exams; Details Here


As per the latest statement by State Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Tamil Nadu Board Exam 2021 for classes 10, 12 students will not have any quarterly or half-yearly examinations in the academic session 2021-2022. 

In the official statement, the Education Minister stated that the Tamil Nadu Education Board is now planning on conducting a combined mock examination for both TN Class 12th and Class 10th students in December 2021 in place of half-yearly and quarterly examinations. 

As for Tamil Nadu SSLC 2022, exams will commence as usual in the month of March for all registered candidates. While for Tamil Nadu 12th Board Exam 2022, no changes will be made in the same. 

“We are exploring the possibility of having a combined mock exam before the board examination in December instead of the half-yearly and quarterly examinations. I will tell you once it’s been finalized,” he said.

The review meeting was announced by the TN Education Minister and headed by the Chief and District Education Officers. The meeting was held to consider the possibility of conducting a combined mock test in December for Tamil Nadu Board Exam 2021.

During the meeting on October 12, 2021, the education minister also discussed the implementation of safety measures and guidelines in Tamil Nadu states colleges and schools during the physical class commencement. 

“At the meeting today, the safety measures that should be implemented on the campuses were discussed in detail. There will be surprise inspections by teams once the schools reopen to check whether all safety protocols are being followed,” he said.

In the meeting, he stated that the state government is now planning on reopening schools for class 1st to class 8th students in accordance with safety guidelines and instructions. For students of class 9th to 12th, offline classes have already been held since September 01, 2021. 

“We don’t know how long young children, such as LKG or Class 1 students, can wear masks in the classroom. Parents can wait outside the classroom and if they feel children are not comfortable wearing masks, they can take them back home with them,” the minister added.
