SKUAST-J CET 2020: 74% Aspirants Took Entrance Examination for UG Courses


Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) conducted the Common Entrance Test (CET-2020) for UG Courses on Sunday, October 11. 

SKUAST-J conducted CET for admission to UG programs of BSc (Honours) Agriculture, BTech Biotechnology and BVSc and AH for academic session 2020-2021. Around 74 percent of aspirants appeared for the entrance test amid the ongoing pandemic.

 A total of 1,919 aspirants out of 2,596 took CET 2020 for admission to 212 seats. Though for the all-India quota, 15 percent seats are already reserved. Admissions to these 15% seats are regulated by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Veterinary Council of India.

Demand for admission to various professional undergraduate programs in Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences has been surprisingly increased. “COVID-19 has not affected any admission process” as stated by J P Sharma Vice-Chancellor, Professor.

SOP Followed at the Exam Centere

There were a total of 5 exam centres allocated for the safe conduct of the examination. The exam was conducted abiding by all the necessary SOP’s released by MHA due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

There was proper installation of hand sanitizers. 

A face mask was compulsory for everybody. The thermal screening was also regulated on everybody entering the exam center.

Sushil Kumar Gupta, Examination Cell in-charge, SKUAST-J, stated “CET 2020 Exam was conducted smoothly.”
