Shiv Nadar Foundation establishes a new university in Tamil Nadu roping in various prominent figures of India as part of the University Board. To check the full details about the University, read the full article.
Shiv Nadar University has created a milestone by officially becoming the first private varsity in 90 years established and legislated in Tamil Nadu after Annamalai University Act (1928) was formulated. The university came into force after getting approval of a bill by the State Assembly.

Set up by the Shiv Nadar Foundation, the varsity has announced R Srinivasan as the Chancellor of the university. Srinivasan is the co-founder of Redington India Ltd. which is a supply chain solutions company.
Moreover, he is presently working in the position of Chairman of SSN Institutions. SSN Institutions was founded in 1996.
Apart from Srinivasan, the University has named Kala Vijayakumar as the pro-chancellor of the Shiv Nadar University. He is a prominent figure who boosted SSN Institutions and took the same to great heights.

In a press release, the Tamil Nadu-based varsity also mentioned that in December, they will rope in a well-known academician of one of the major IITs in the University board. The academician will fill the post of Vice-Chancellor in the university.
Adding to it, there are various famous personalities that will be associated with the university in some or the other way. They notified that C Rangarajan, Former RBI Governor and Turing Award winner Raj Reddy will act as the mentors of the university.
The university is set to commence its academic drive by launching four courses under the domains of the school of engineering, school of commerce and management. The first academic session will start in 2021.

The Varsity will be well-equipped and will offer modern facilities to the students. The major facilities that SNU will provide are academic and research blocks, stadium, library, sports center, hostel, etc.
Roshni Nadar Malhotra, chairperson of HCL Technologies stated that her father Shiv Nadar is a visionary man with his keen interest in education and its application. He believed that education has the power to change the lives and living standards of people. It is the basis for future growth.
On a promising note, she added that the university will provide world-class facilities and will offer a base for new research and innovative discoveries.
Regarding the future plans of the university, it has planned to launch a UG course in Business Management in 2022 which will be of 4 years. Moreover, the varsity is also planning to open a school of law for various Law aspirants. It has aimed to establish the institute in the coming five years.
