Sagar Institute of Research and Technology: Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive


Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive (EAD) was organized by Sagar Institute of Research and Technology (SIRT) to put across the idea of transforming entrepreneurial dreams into reality. 

Sagar Institute in association with E-Cell of IIT Kharagpur organised the event, EAD 2019 focussing on educating students about ways to structure and design a proposal to raise funds from angel investors and even corporates.

The event was successful enough as it brought about 600 participants from different colleges apart from SGI. 

Some of the key highlights of the event were:

  • Students were replenished with novel ideas of entrepreneurship in different knowledge areas in order to create work for them.
  • Elaborate discussions were conducted on understanding how simple ideas help create large companies
  • Students learnt about filing patents to safeguard their business ideas.
  • Contemplation on small issues in the society to generate business ideas and successful business models
  • Encourage students to discuss innovative ways and products 
  • Evaluate the charm of being an entrepreneur and how creativity and problem-solving characteristics add to it

SIRT invited business leaders and progressive academicians to grace the occasion. Panellists in the event were Praveen Wadalkar, Bamboo Anil Bamboo Machine, Rohit Agrawal, CEO, Evangelist.

Others included Shirshendu Bharadwaj, E-Cell, Hindu College; Tannison Mathews-Co-Founder & Director, The Optimist Citizen; and Amruta Shingwekar of E-START, Incubation Program Manager, VASP Incubation Centre.
